Very Nice dinner and good value for the money. The house made basil vinaigrette dressing was amazing.
Excellent food, ambiance, waiter!
Great food, pricey, but you pay for the experience.
We’ve been to Jimmy Kelly’s a number of times now. The food and service are wonderful. However, we are always seated upstairs and it’s so quiet. I can’t understand for the life of me why they don’t have some small speakers throughout the upstairs playing some light music of some kind to add to the ambience. The room we sat in has 5 tables and you can tell that everyone is a little uncomfortable to have conversation because it’s just too quiet. Next time we decide to eat here we’ll probably ask to be downstairs.
We enjoyed our visit! Isaac our server made the experience even better.
Three of us each ordered Medium Rare filet mignon, large cut. Steaks were over-cooked, medium to well in center and well done on outside, no special taste, a little bland for what is supposed to be prime. Baked potatoes and salads were okay, but nothing special. Corn cakes were delicious. I go back to Jimmy Kelly's once a year due to its reputation, and except for the bar, I'm often disappointed; steaks are always over-cooked. I have fond memories of its old location in a Belle Meade basement.
Great food! Great atmosphere! Great service always.
Party of three guys who all ordered the same meal with only levels of doneness differing. The waiter simply had to put the correct plate down in front of the right person - a scenario he literally joked about…repeatedly.
He did not succeed in this “easy” endeavor.
The food? I don’t know how this place gets by. Can it really stay afloat based solely on a long history of existence? Because despite the order mixup, the steaks are just plain BLAND. Completely unsatisfying and boring. One of the worst steaks I’ve ever had - definitely at this price and certainly at an establishment claiming such clout.
Great food and great experience, will be back soon! Jimmy was our server and was awesome!
Very personable treatment from all servers and staff They even keep notes about previous visits to remember birthdays and special events Prompt service and superb chefs
My wife and I are from Lexington Ky and our son lives in Nashville and we are always looking for a nice place to eat dinner. Jimmy Kelly's was excellent from the time we arrived to the time we left. Garth directed us to our table and he made us feel right at home. I would definitely recommend to eat here. You won't be disappointed.
Delicious food, left full and happy. We had a wonderful time and our server Brian was absolutely fantastic!
Kelly is always good, food was great though not as good as our last few visits. Service excellent
This was my 47th anniversary the food was great and the service was great thank you Jimmy Kelly’s
Great time. Great experience!
we requested a table on the large patio because I cannot climb steps. Our request was honored and we were sat at a fabulous table. Our server was excellent. Jimmy Kelly's is one of our favorite restaurants and never disappoints. Thank You
Claude was outstanding and the food was incredible!
Thanks so much!
I have been a patron for 34 years if that tells you anything.
Our extra cut filets were delicious and cooked to perfection. Our server, Isaac, was cordial and aimed to please. The salad and baked potato were included in the price of the meal unlike many of JK's top shelf steakhouse competitors and the pleasing ambience of a 100 year old home allows you to experience a 2 hour nostalgic return to fine steakhouse dining as it was in the 1950s.
P.S. Long Live Corncakes!!!
It was great! Food was great! Good times!
Had a reservation and when we got there the hostess acted like she had no where to seat us. A manager found a table amongst several. Horrible waitress. Took 15 minutes to greet us initially. Spoke down to my $83 year old father when ordering saying “Are you sure?! Why are you getting a cheeseburger when you could get that anywhere?!” Actually swatted my 13 year old daughter and took her plate out of her hand and dumped it upside down ruining her meal while chastising her for touching a hot plate. Kitchen staff running by our table nonstop. The absolute worst steak I have ever had. Tasteless and overcooked. Tried to dump salt on it but couldn’t get it to come out of the shaker it was so caked in. Not to mention cost $48. Told them it was my birthday on the reservation and the table next to us got a slice of cake with a candle while we got the check instead of even an offer for dessert. Will never go back.
The service was excellent. Issac was our waiter and he did a fantastic job of explaining the menu, answering our questions, and attending to our needs. The food was good. We had an excellent time.
Best service and steak in town.
I went here with a friend who has eaten at way more steakhouses than me. I loved the history of the building and story behind the steakhouse itself. You get a good meal at a good value (steak dinner included a salad and baked potato). My filet was cooked to perfection. Unfortunately, my friends NY strip was a little overcooked. She was less than impressed but I would definitely go back. Both of our steaks were lacking in seasoning; however, the filet has an incredible char on the outside making the texture contrast amazing. The sides were good. We got the mac and cheese (be forewarned: it is VERY cheesy but reheats well) and the creamed spinach. No salt was needed for the sides. Overall, very satisfied and recommend.
Enjoyed our time with family, loved the twice backed potatoes.
I called when I booked 8 reservations and told the lady my husband has great difficulty walking, could we be seated close to the entrance. When we got there after waiting about 30 minutes we were told that our table was upstairs, he can’t possibly do stairs.
We waited for tables close to entrance to be cleaned and put together.
Our service was very slow, food was not hot when it arrived.
Great as always
Claude was absolutely wonderful! The guest next to us was very loud and disturbing.
Great service by Chris! Great food and right on time! We love this place!
Food and service was outstanding! We make it a point to dine regularly with Jimmy Kelly’s and have enjoyed our meal and the whole dining experience. Thank you!
The people that met us at the door were nice and quickly got us seated. When we got sat the waiter was quick to get our drinks and very kind. The bread they start you out with is good but the water they started us out with was hot and that’s not how I want my water to start a meal off personally. He took our order and he was quick to get the food to us also but here is we’re stuff went down hill. If I’m paying over 150$ for a meal I want it to be good now I know it is a steak house and that’s what the specialize but the sides were not good at all the steak was ok for the price tag.
The ambiance and service are excellent. However, food was fair overall. Go there for history etc. but past that I would not.
Beautiful restaurant- great food nice evening.
Not the best service we had had before. Had to ask for water and drink refills. Definitely more interested in the tables with alcohol purchases than those without
We look forward to the food, and the service at Jimmy Kelly's. When we have friends join us we know we will enjoy the evening. Afterwards we will laugh and know that the food matched the company!
Sorry this is such a negative review. Our experience was not at all what we expected. Jam packed in a room with 3 other families a very dry steak and a waiter with ZERO personality.
Best steaks EVER! And some of the best service you could ever come across.
The bathrooms were not too clean. The bathroom door was really nasty. They need to paint it.
The steak was cooked great however it tasted as if there were no seasonings applied, for almost 50 dollars a steak, I was fairly dissatisfied. Past that if you don’t like a baked potato you just get to stare at one get cold because it comes with and can’t be substituted. It all felt very forced and I felt as if I should have walked out with half the bill for the food I received.
We love Jimmy Kelly's for a relaxing night out with good eats and friends. Service and dinner were awesome and yes we'll be back soon.
