Jia Modern Chinese & Asian Lounge
$5 happy hour from 4pm-7pm at the bar and the lounge.
I thought it was too loud for pleasant conversation.
Great family dinner! Great service!
Excellent food, excellent hospitality 👍
Jia is a wonderful restaurant located in a great area with great cuisine. We enjoyed our entire experience at this very contemporary and well decorated establishment. Jia is also a very nice host, she greeted us at the door and offered us free champagne on the way out. Would definitely recommend to anybody seeking a good Chinese meal in Dallas.
My friend and I went there to celebrate her birthday. We have both been looking for an authentic and delicious Chinese restaurant but there isn’t much outside Dallas. We bit the bullet and drove in. Boy, was it worth it! Our server, Ed was fabulous and the hostess checked on us twice. There were many other customers but we noticed that the staff went the extra mile to make sure things were perfect for everyone. We tried so many entrees and appetizers. Everything was so good. The highlight was probably the pork wontons that started off the meal. We had planned to divvy up the leftovers and take them home to our families. No leftovers. There was plenty of food- we just ate every single bite! We will definitely be heading back to Jai- wonderful experience!
Noise level was very high. Not enough plum sauce furnished for lettuce wraps and fried duck. Not much meat on the fried duck, and possibly over-fried. Service personnel were plesent, but rather slow.
We had a wonderful experience here. Food is fantastic! Friendly and welcoming staff. Everything tastes so fresh and prepared perfectly. We had the ahí tuna tostadas (appetizer), moo goo gai pan, cashew chicken and pork fried rice. The best versions of these dishes we’ve ever eaten. They do NOT charge extra for brown rice either. They have a full bar on two floors. This would be a great place for happy hour, particularly upstairs. There is outdoor seating on the 2nd floor which overlooks Preston Center. Really cool bar area inside on the 2nd floor. Extensive wine menu; excellent Chardonnay selection. Bottle prices are extremely reasonable. This will definitely be our go to Asian food restaurant.
Last weekend we decided to try a new restaurant. We chose Jia Modern Chinese located on Preston Rd & Northwest Highway in Dallas. We were very pleased with our choice. The food and service were excellent. We began with a drink in their upstairs lounge and outdoor bar. The service was friendly and efficient, and the atmosphere was very relaxing and enjoyable. From there we went downstairs to be seated for our reservation. The hostess was very friendly and accommodating. We were quickly greeted by our server who was delightful and cheerful. We enjoyed appetizers, drinks and our delicious entrees. Everyone we encountered from the restaurant was genuinely giving their best efforts to make sure our experience was wonderful. The owner Jia stopped by our table to ensure everything was to perfection. We will certainly be going back. Jia Modern Chinese is a welcomed addition to the Dallas restaurant scene.
Delicious food, wonderful staff. Look forward to going back.
The food is wonderful! It first arrived cold as the server couldn’t find us...we saw our food go by us to finally return 10 min later and cold. The owner came to the table and sent it back and within a couple of minutes(or less) we had hot, delicious food! The only thing keeping me from giving 5 stars was this and also the fact that we had to wait about 15minutes to be seated when we arrived, even though we had a reservation. Also, we waited for at least 5 minutes for someone to greet us when we walked in. This place is definitely going to be one of our favorites! We know the service issue will improve. The owner, Jia, is darling and personable. We wish her the best of luck with her restaurant. Can’t wait to come back!
Great food, all dishes made to perfection, and delicious
She’s only been open a few weeks I’ve been twice. Service better the first time but they are easter to please. I’ll definitely go back.
Food was good, but service seemed to rush us throughout the meal by quickly picking up dishes before we were even done, where I had to say something to keep my plate. Also, we were not asked if we wanted anything else before they quickly brought us the check. Not sure why we were rushed as there were plenty of tables and we began at 7p.
Disappointed. Nothing modern about the food. Just old fashioned regular Chinnese food. Sad but true
