Like the food and drink, Jerry's itself was rebuilt, brick by brick, by craftsmen with a profound respect for heritage. It incorporates a rich collection of architectural treasures, culled from historic buildings around Philadelphia. The result - old school elegance and refinement, where every brick, column, cobble stone, marble slab, door and fixture has a story to tell.
Jerry's Bar is new in an old way, to be savored and sipped slowly, rooted in simple pleasures that are as fresh as they are timeless.
First time there, food was very interesting and good, especially the vegetarian dishes for the ladies. Aps where also very good. Will be going back. Bar and dining room staff are very friendly the way it should be.
Great service. Delicious food. We will be back the next time we are in the area.
Everyone greatly enjoyed it. Thanks for an overall excellent time!
Good food, nice spot with indoor and outdoor seating...Enjoyed dinner before a concert...
Great Service, friendly staff and great menu and food was hot and delicious . Enjoyed the Brunch and definitely be back. :-))
We made a lst minute reseration and were pleasently surprised! Our appetizers were excellent! We dined Al Fresco which was a great perk!
Loved it. Hostess was fabulous as well as the server.
Jerry’s Bar is one of our go to places for brunch. Food is always excellent and you cannot beat the beer-mosa! Live music is a great touch
Jerry’s was a great choice for Father’s Day brunch: delicious sticky buns, spicy watermelon jalapeño mimosas, potato pancakes and smoked salmon with poached eggs, bacon wrapped shrimp & grits, among other things we liked. The service was excellent, the live jazz and big open windows and updated retro decor created a relaxing and fun ambiance. Looking forward to trying dinner next time!
Always so great... Very attentive service staff and there is no bad table!
We had a party of 6, with two children and one needed a high chair. We had an earlier reservation (6:45 on a weeknight) to accommodate the kids and their grumbling tummies and bedtimes. When we are finally seated with a high chair (we stood around waiting for the high chair for several minutes after the rest of the table was seated) it takes several minutes to finally see our server and get in a drink order (nothing too complicated, a Manhattan, a ginger beer and water). 10 minutes later we finally have enough water for the table (no other beverages came out) and order our food. The appetizer (zucchini fries) doesn’t come out for nearly a half hour and our drinks (other than water) never come. The waitress didn’t check on us and only walked by saying that our food would be out soon. We did not receive our meals (and never got our drinks, but they weren’t on the bill) for over an hour after being seated (7:45). The food was fine, but at that point we had hungry/grumpy kids and just wanted to be done with the meal. It was not busy, the service was just awful. I have been here before and had a pleasant experience, but I don’t expect to return.
I actually first found Jerry's on Yelp and noticed the "average" rating at that time, but I figured people can be picky/unfair and the menu looked great and very trendy, so I wanted to give it a go. For starters, there were not many tables occupied, and we were one of two tables occupied inside. Service from the bar was slow, and I noticed mostly beers getting poured, so I wasn't sure why. My watermelon margarita was terrible; I'm not sure the bartender was experienced, as for the first time in my life, I witnessed a bartender dip a straw into someone else's drink she was making to taste if it was ok!! The cheese board and duck spring rolls were mediocre (and I was looking forward to both), and the Jerry's burger, while cooked perfectly, was unmemorable. Plenty of other places to go in the area.
Upon arrival, there was no one at the host stand. I had a reservation and waited at the stand for about 5 minutes. During this time, the bartender, waiter, saw me waiting but did not acknowledge my presence. The host finally approached me and then told me to wait a little longer. So I sat at the bar and after a few more minutes, we were seated. We ordered drinks and my friend did not get a straw and she had to go to the bar herself to grab one. I ordered salmon and grits and that’s all I got on the plate. The salmon was cooked fine. But the grits were flavorless. It was a poor meal. My friend was also supposed to get a side salad with her meal which did not come at first. She finally got it after requesting for it. And it came without dressing. Overall, food was not good, service was not the best, and the ambience was dark and gloomy.
I used to LOVE Jerry’s bar but the past three times I’ve gone the service has gotten worse and worse. Disappointed
Love the ambience of Jerry’s - beautiful space with exposed brick and live jazz on weekends. The service is slow and not the best. The cocktails are great - mimosa flavors switch up on the weekends, and the French mandarin was refreshing and delicious. Love that they have a children’s menu. Eggs, salad and potatoes were outstanding - scrapple was greasy. It’s a beautiful, swanky without being pretentious, kid-friendly spot.
We went to Jerry's for Mother's Day Brunch and had a great experience! They were very nice and flexible when something unexpected came up and had to delay our reservation to an hour later. The service was excellent and the food was delicious-- I got the french toast and it was some of the best brunch I've had in Philly! Ambience was a bit noisy because it was so crowded for Mother's Day, but even from the upstairs we enjoyed the live jazz. On the way out, the nicest finishing touch was that they gave both me and my mother a rose for Mother's Day. Will definitely go again as we'll be moving to just down the block!
Used to love this place but hadn't been in awhile. Our service was AWFUL and the food was meh. Pretty bummed about all of it.
My wife and I stopped in for dinner before seeing a show nearby. Finding street parking in the neighborhood was pretty challenging, but we managed after a few minutes of driving around. We loved the “feel” of the place with its rustic brick and wood interior with a tin panel ceiling.
The food was excellent, though we did have to send my wife’s portobello sandwich back after we asked for it without pesto and they brought it out with it (hey, it happens sometimes). Our server Rachel was very gracious and quickly corrected it with another sandwich, made the way my wife wanted it. Both my wife’s sandwich and my meatballs with garlic toast points were delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed everything and will definitely be back! Awesome place with great food!
First time at Jerry's Bar and will definitely go back. Everyone enjoyed their brunch, excited to go back for dinner sometime soon.
Food is awesome cocktails are delicious! We had such a great time at brunch.
Fantastic- hospitable, great food.
In town for tournament. Got done at 1 pm and looked up “best place for Easter Brunch”. Yelp said Jerry’s which I thought was kinda funny being that it’s a bar. It was surprisingly great in every way: great location, very friendly and efficient staff, delicious food and fed 5 for 1/2 the price of dinner the night before! Next time in Philly-definitely going back!
It was okay, we’ve been there a bunch for brunch and enjoyed it in the beginning. However as time progressed and our visits continued, it’s not what it was... We decided to do dinner spur of the moment as we’ve heard great things, however it didn’t impress. Honestly we hope others have a different experience than we did. Wait staff is always awesome, the atmosphere is great... the food was just, well meh.
Beautiful new flowers and plants in the covered outdoor area! It was an awesome dining experience!
This was the perfect place to have dinner before attending a nearby event. It was a Wednesday evening, so it wasn't jam-packed at 5pm (when we had reservations), and the restaurant was very accommodating to help adjust our booking from six to eight people. The servers were friendly, the food was solid and the drinks were tasty. I'd definitely recommend. Also...great happy hour specials!
Experience was great - We had a large group of about 10, they sat us in the new room with another party. Service was quick, food was great and it was a great kick off to our Saturday! Highly Recommend.
I took an old college friend and my roommate to Jerry's and it was such an amazing experience!
My husband’s recommended fish special was bland. The oysters were great as well as the short rib sandwich I had. Good happy hour drinks.
The brunch food was good and different from the usual. Cocktails were tasty and freshly made. Although the service was a little slow, it was relaxed and friendly and the experience was enjoyable.
We went to brunch at Jerry's on the way home from an overnight stay in Philly. Tucked in the middle of the neighborhood, it has a great atmosphere and the food was delicious. The day we were there the weather was warm so there was outside seating and they had the floor to ceiling window doors open in the dining room. Definitely would go back again!
It was our 1st time their staff was great food was good drink selection was nice I would recommend to anyone and I'm going back
We were looking forward to this neighborhood gem but we’re very disappointed. We were seated right away and that was the last good thing. First it took forever for our waitress to appear and she spoke so fast we just stared at her especially when she ended her sentence three tables away, never saw a waitress talk and walk away still talking before. She could not remember our drinks and our meal took almost two hours, we were late for our show! Getting the check was just as bad, the manager gave us 10% off for the horrible service and a coupon for a later date, our waitress grabbed the coupon and said I guess you want to redeem now. Food was okay. We will not be back!
Service was terrible. We waited a very long time for our drinks to come out (between each round, and our last round took almost 15 min after we ordered). Also every single food order that came out was brought to each table, “did you order this?” It was particularly annoying for us since we were the first table the servers walked by. Don’t they write down who ordered what?! The food and drinks were good but nothing special.
French toast is very good
The service was extremely slow even with limited people in the restaurant. My roommate ordered a meal that came with toast and a side salad and they originally brought her out her food without her salad and toast and when she asked about it they said they only brought the toast upon request, as if they were doing her a favorite, despite it being listed as coming with it on the menu.
The food and drinks were great. Happy hour menu was offered even though we did not sit at the bar, which was nice. The band was good and entertaining. The service was not the best. Not sure if they were having an off night, but it was inconsistent and our server was acting very strange. I have been to Jerry's bar before and had a better experience. I would still recommend.
Atmosphere was good, seems like my kind of crowd.
I don't need to eat the food again. We got the duck egg rolls and a beet salad...no good.
Mixed drinks were considerably weak and well under the top of the glass.
Noise level was loud but I am good with that.
Biggest turn off was the food and drinks...mostly the reason you go to a bar, right?
Delicious food and great service. Especially fond of their speciality mimosa.
Interesting menu, excellent food, and lovely service. And it's a cool-looking place--warm and friendly. Will definitely go back soon.
Food was great and atmosphere was fun! Like jazz was very cool. Only downside was service was a bit slow and food did take longer than normal to arrive.
