The food flavors were outstanding. However the portions are small and prices are high. I think they need to increase their portion sizes or lower their prices. Also it's not very vegetarian friendly; lots of meat options. We are trying to eat less meat now so would prefer more seafood and vegetables on the menu. Limited menu over all. Not sure I'll go back until their menu increases in options.

we have been fans of David and Jen since their Hanbun days. our second visit to their chic restaurant amazed us. we ordered ala carte and still trying to figure put our favorite diah...perhaps the short ribs?? cocktails are unique and delicious. wish i could dine here once a week.

On the expensive side for the chef tasting menu, but so incredibly delicious!!!! We will definitely go back!!! Presentation was perfect. Truly a wonderful restaurant.

Outstanding chef and service. The menu is innovative, the plates small, and presentation is minimalist. Order more dishes for a large appetite. A place for special dates. Reserve in advance as it seems always booked. One of the best in Chicago.

Small portions for what you pay. Also I know this is very specific, but the smaller plates come in pieces of 3 (3 items per plate). For a restaurant with mostly 2-tops, I feel like they should probably stick to even numbers. Just saying. Super tasty though.

The chefs choice with wine pairings was a great option but didn’t include the items we really wanted to try. We added them and they were our favorite dishes! The mackerel and short ribs were phenomenal and the salmon tartare excellent. I loved the little rice pearls. If we come back it will probably be for the ala carte menu.

Full disclosure: I've been a fan of David Park's culinary genius since Hanbun. But having experienced five seasonal tasting menus along with his ala carte fare, you would think I would be sampling repeats. Not at all. David's brilliance is how he innovates flavors and textures by using new ingredients and familiar standbys. For example, last night’s tasting menu included a salmon tartare – not that uncommon in fine dining establishments. But Jeong’s version included dwenjang yuza gastrique, bubu arare, creme fraiche. I had no idea what half of these ingredients were, but instead of just being pretentious, they were delicious: like nothing I’ve tasted before. The entire $87 tasting menu was filled with such delights. The portions were also pretty sizeable and our entire party agreed that we were pleasantly full after our meal. We ordered the wine pairings with our tasting menu and the wine choices were well curated with each dish. The first dish, a Silken Tofu with king crab, maesil, chili braised fern, was paired with an unexpected, but well balanced sake. Jeong’s craft cocktails also didn’t disappoint and maintained the Modern Korean nuances while remaining recognizable to the palate.

If David is the genius in the kitchen, then his fiancée, Jennifer, is the heart of the house. The service is attentive without being disruptive and you can tell that the waitstaff is well informed and enjoys working there. The restaurant itself is in a cozy corner building in West Town. There was plenty of on street parking on a busy Saturday night. The interiors are elegant but approachable, and lest I get accused of writing an unbalanced review, I will say that the it’s bit dark inside. Wonderful for intimacy, but hard to take pictures in an Instagram age! Although Jeong’s well deserved popularity and excellent reviews make it a hard place to get a seat, we consider it worth the wait and will definitely return to check out Jeong’s ala carte selections!

Had tasting menu. No sure why this restaurant gets the accolades that it does. The quality of the ingredients were fine. The salmon tasted like Whole Foods salmon. American Wagyu makes me laugh every time I see it on the menu. And the desserts were a joke. Funny they call the first dessert a palate cleanser which I later find out was one of the desserts on the tasting and barely edible. Lastly, the food was definitely lacking in complexity. I would skip...

Everything was excellent but it was too hot to really enjoy the food. It was hotter inside than outside and my dining companion had trouble eating the food because of the discomfort. Another couple sat down next to us near the end of our meal and both immediately mentioned the temperature.

Food was delicious and presentation was elegant. Service was attentive and dishes came out quickly.

Favorite dish was the sashimi. Crispy rice added a crunchy texture to the sashimi and spicy sauce. Mandu provided the perfect bite of pork and kimchi, as well as the Odeng shrimp cake.

The food was mediocre, with the exception of the dumplings which were amazing!

The service was ok. For the price point I can’t complain, but better service could make up for the mediocre food.

I’m 50/50 if I would recommend Jeong.

Food is simply delicious and gorgeously presented. The tasting menu is exceptional having flavors of Korean ingredients with a contemporary style. Had most of the a la carte items and they did not disappoint. The short rib is a must and the broccoli has a great smoked char that surprises your palate. It's only a matter of time for this place to get a Michelin star or two.

The service was excellent with constant attention and care. The food was delicious and the courses of the tasting menu were well spaced out. The meats (duck and American wagyu steak) were a little too undercooked so they were a bit too chewy, especially the duck. However, the sauces and other complements to the meat were delicious. Jeong is well worth the wait!

A very casual tasting menu experience. Servers were great. Food was delicious and not so much that you feel uncomfortable after the 8th course. Lovely plating and easygoing presentations from the staff. No 5 minute monologues on preparation and ingredients. Recommended for date, dinner with friends or casual special occasions.

Found this great place through Chicago magazine! Their review held true - they have a short and sweet tasting menu - creative and not overdone at a good price for decent portions. Standout was the Wagyu beef with sunchokes two ways and kimchi sauce, and a salmon sashimi / tartare type morsel! Lots of people, including my fiancé and me, were there celebrating birthdays - and they gave some nice little surprises for that.

We had a beautiful meal and excellent service. We enjoyed the tasting menu with wine pairings. The music seemed a bit loud when we first sat down, but I became thankful for the volume because I could hear my husband but not the conversation from the table next to me. Can't wait to go back.

Best Korean Fusion implementation that I've ever seen or tasted. Great service and amazing atmosphere and visual aesthetics. Perfect for date night.
But could have had slightly bigger portions for the price. Definitely recommend the tasting menu next time.

The space is small but beautiful and elegant. The servers are attentive and helpful in describing the menu. The food is amazingly special with delicate lingering flavors. Put this restaurant on your must try list and you will not be disappointed. We look forward to our next visit.

Both the tasting menu and å la carte dishes are enjoyable. The scallop, salmon tartare, yukhwe, kalbi jjim and rice-hi chew mochi were some of my favorites. Each dish is a unique creation made with quality ingredients and is stylish in presentation. The ambience is inviting and the service is friendly.
