Really enjoyed it. A nice shift from western cuisine base fine dining. Definitely be back.
Great food, service and ambiance.
Simply one of the best restaurants in Chicago. !!!!
Each of the current 7 tastings has a Korean-inspired finesse, as well as its presentations. Savory and flavor I was expecting. I left wishing if the tastings were entrees, I’d have at least two plates.
Depending on your expectations, don’t scrutinize the experience as trying out a simple beer flight sampler. Each tasting needs to be intimate and enjoyed as if you were overseas.
For those w/ a sweet tooth, you’ll be surprised how well the flavors go together. Was impressed w/ the desserts.
Unless you’re a lightweight, a wine or cocktail wouldn’t hurt. The saki is best served when you’re finished w/ the tastings IMO, just wished they had Soju too. But that Crane of Paradise, just saying.
Exciting menu with new exquisite additions to the rating menu. Chef Dave continues to reimagine Korean fine dining. Front of the house team makes you feel like family.
Delicious, creative tasting menu. Wonderful vibe.
I may have missed it. But didn’t have a clue it was a fixed menu. Very expensive for small amount.
Most underrated restaurant in town and the new menu is the best yet.
Delicious food, lovely ambiance, and great service. The wine pairing was also very well planned for each course!
Jeong’s food never disappoints! the prefix menu is delicious! And the staff is attentive and friendly!
Went to Jeong for the 2nd time and it did not disappoint after their long Covid closure. The food was out of this world. Each dish was better than the next. I highly recommend especially it a special occasion. The tasting menu had a nice balance of dishes with nice size portions.
What a beautiful night! The food was mind blowing- literally. We were celebrating two birthdays and got dual candles in the best dessert of my life (until my next Jeong visit). Everything they’re doing at Jeong is amazing. Will come here again and again and AGAIN and AGAIN!
My husband land I have been to Jeong before—and the food and service was outstanding as always! We wanted to bring our young adult children this time so they can experience the incredible meal themselves. They loved it too. Dave Park’s dishes are amazing, and Jen takes such good care of us! The service is amazing too! Thanks so much you guys! We will be back!
Excellent experience. We celebrated a birthday and the entire staff was extremely attentive to that occasion and made us feel very welcome and special.
The food was very unique and each dish full of flavor. When the staff asked which course was our favorite, we honestly could not select just one dish because each one was incredibly delicious and beautifully plated. The food and service were incredible.
The entire staff was very warm, friendly and inviting. Definitely going back to Jeong!
Run to Jeong. Impeccable service with incredibly delicious food. Superb wine pairings and cocktails. The room is beautiful and the playlist is the sleeper hit of the experience. Can't say enough!
It was such a great experience. I will definitely visit again!!
Incredible overall experience - the food was delicious, balanced and beautifully presented. We opted for the wine pairing and was worth it. The entire Jeong family was hospitable and made sure to make us feel special for our anniversary.
I want to preface this by saying that Jeong is wonderful and the food is delicious and the atmosphere is really remarkable. The service was also really great, save for a few areas of improvement. There were, however, some things that could be improved upon so I want to share this review for other diners to be aware and for productive feedback.
I went to Jeong on a Saturday night at 8pm to celebrate a friend's birthday. The servers were very kind and attentive. Right now, they are only serving the tasting menu for $115 and we decided to opt in to the wine tasting for an additional $57 pp.
Something we noticed was that the pours for the wine tasting were very small, and the wine was brought out about 15 minutes before the accompanying meal. My friend actually finished most of her first drink before the food came, so we decided to get an additional glass of wine to have on the side to avoid that happening in the future. I think the problem there is two fold - 1) for $57, you can be generous with your pours and 2) bring the wines out at the same time as the dish so that they can be enjoyed together as intended.
This brings me to my next point, which was the timeline in general. We sat down at 8pm and by 10pm, we were only on course 5 of 7. We had plans to meet a few other friends back at home later to celebrate and unfortunately had to rush through the final courses.
Finally, all of the dishes were really outstanding and delicious, with the exception of course #4 which was a pork stew of some kind. It was overwhelmed by a white mousse all over the top and reminded me of a heavy irish stew, so didn't really match the rest of the menu.
My favorite courses were the salmon tartar (omg! melt in your mouth amazing!), the seared scallop (seared to perfection), the steak, and the huckleberry shortbread dessert.
I think I'll return to Jeong again when they are offering a la carte and I don't have anything planned for afterward so that I can truly enjoy the experience.
The restaurant was very appropriately spaced and they had a simple check in for temperature. The food is amazing. The staff were very well informed about each course and Jennifer, one of the owners is just one of the warmest restaurateurs we have met. Jeong is the perfect special occasion restaurant. The room is lovely, I found the music mix eclectic.
We had the most wonderful experience! We actually got engaged at dinner and the staff could not have been more wonderful and celebratory. The food was fantastic and truly made it a once in a lifetime experience. Thank you!
Amazing meal for the return to standard indoor dining for my girlfriend and I. 7 Course tasting menu and each one was memorable. Our favorites were the opening Kampachi, the Pork cheek dish (rich but with some unique flavors) and the final dessert (which was sweet but with pleasant and unexpected sour notes). My girlfriend did the wine pairing and was very satisfied with each, especially the Chardonnay with Scallop course.
As of February 18, 2021 - Jeong only has 7 tables simultaneously available for the service (we were a 7:00 reservation with 4 other tables seated around us). Very Covid cautious with exceptional service, including visits from the owner.
Perfection. A beautiful room; beautiful smiles; beautiful food the bridges Korean-inspired flavors with expertly crafted French technique. It was so perfect that this was my second dinner in a week. Jeong is hands-down one of the top meals available in Chicago. When you’re willing to venture back into the dining room, this should be your first stop.
We really enjoyed our first experience. The service, food, and ambiance were exceptional. We'll be back soon!
What a wonderful experience from start to finish. We felt welcomed and personalized with our experience.
Perfect. Safe. Beautiful decor. Delicious. Accommodating. Excellent customer service. Absolutely delightful experience especially for first time back to indoor dining. Couldn’t have asked for a better dinner and the cocktails were amazing.
Jeong’s staff and food are amazing. Simply one of the best eating experiences in Chicago. Everything felt very personal and cared for.
Everything about Jeong was perfect. Their attention to every detail did not go unnoticed and they made us feel totally at-ease throughout the meal. Because of COVID, the dining room was thoughtfully spaced out and temperature checks were performed upon arrival.
The food was superb. Each course featured new but also familiar Korean flavors, highlighting truly perfect cuts of fish and meat. Standouts for us were the salmon, scallop and pork dishes, but there truly wasn’t a morsel we didn’t enjoy. Wines were fantastic and expertly paired to complement each course. I would eat here every day if I could. Go to Jeong, people!
The newly re-opened Jeong v2.0 shows just how hard at work the Jeong team has been during the COVID lockdown. Given the small number of guests that Jeong can welcome (just 7 tables for safety), they’re only offering its 7 course tasting at the moment — but i love the focus! 3 dishes remain from the pre-COVID menu (of course, the salmon tartare...now a signature dish in Chicago...is still there as is the best seared scallop dish in town). Every one of the 4 new dishes was amazing. My wife and I particularly enjoyed how the dinner kicked off — a beautiful rosette of thinly-sliced kanpachi with honeycrisp apple and some cool other flavors above my pay-grade. There was also an outstanding pork cheek ragu that was perfectly suited to the winter blast hitting Chicago at the moment.
Jeong offers wine pairings with dinner, but their great cocktails are back (each an interesting twist on classic drinks using Korean-inspired flavors) and i noticed some in the room sticking with those throughout the meal. My wife and I enjoyed a bottle of sake, which was perfect.
A quick shout-out to the Jeong team. When we arrived for our reservation, the power on the block had just gone out. I assumed that we’d have to scramble for another dinner option — but the team had expertly pushed on by candlellight, the glow from the Emergency/Exit sign light and a battery-powered Bluetooth speaker for music. It was like the restaurant had planned it. I have no idea how they pivoted so gracefully. The room actually groaned when the lights came back on around 9pm! We were all enjoying an unexpected intimate shared experience with our VDay dates.
If you’re ready to venture back to indoor dining, I highly recommend Jeong.
Had a great meal here. In particular, I thought the first 3 courses and first dessert course were stand outs.
AMAZING!! One of the best tasting menus I have had! There is so much attention to detail for every course. We were also very impressed with the detail that went into the 2 vegetarian options in our party and every course was delicious. The restaurant has a fresh minimalist design with great music in the background but not overpowering. The service is extremely attentive but not overbearing. We were celebrating a birthday and the dessert course came out with a candle, which was very much appreciated. Jeong also has a nice variety of wines and saki. Highly recommend and can't wait to go back.
Wonderful evening. Great atmosphere, great service and amazing food. Can definitely recommend. Had a wonderful time at Jeong.
Our experience at Jeong was wonderful. They provide a comfortable atmosphere and ample space for guests with much more than 6 feet between tables. Every course was delicious and the drink pairings were spot on (especially the sake pairing)
Great time! Ambience is incredible, along w the service. Far as food, wasn't what I was expecting but glad I got to check it out.
Incredible food and service. If you enjoy Korean flavors and fine dining type food, this is definitely the place for you.
Been here twice now and we still enjoy the food and atmosphere very much
The tasting menu was excellent! Great balance of flavors and textures, with elegant plating. We loved the desserts so much and were impressed that they were done by the chef and not a separate pastry/dessert chef! The staff made obvious and visible changes for COVID Era distancing, and were so kind. We are happy they are open again!
Fantastic dinner, a must visit in Chicago!
This place was great. We had the table for 6 and felt like we had our own private space. Chef Park does not disappoint.
