About this restaurant

  • Good for special occasions
  • Hot spot
  • Neighborhood gem
Jeju Noodle Bar is a primarily reservation based however we do accept walks in based on cancellations and no shows.

Jeju, in Korean, also has a few different definitions such as “skill, talent, ability”. The close Korean equivalent of the Japanese Ramen, Ramyun is a comfort dish enjoyed by Koreans of all social class and ages. At Jeju Noodle Bar our main focus is to allow diners to experience and savor the distinct Korean flavor by using different techniques & ingredients from chef Douglas’s experiences.

Why they're an Icon

Executive chef: Douglas Kim

From the OpenTable editors: Fine-dining vet Douglas Kim (Bouley, Per Se) has been turning out some of the finest ramyun in town since the opening of this MICHELIN-Starred West Village restaurant in 2017. In a sea of thrilling Korean options in New York, Jeju has held on to that star for six consecutive years and continued to rise on the New York Times’s 100 Best Restaurants list. Grab a seat in the sleek wood and tile-clad interiors for bowls of Wagyu ramyun or lobster myun; a hot take on Korean fried chicken dolloped with caviar; and toro ssam bap topped with fatty tuna, caviar, and sea urchin.

Jeju was excellent. I will say that the apps seem a bit overpriced, but were excellent. Would highly recommend.

Food was good, but horrendously slow and inattentive service ruined the whole experience.

The Toro Ssambap with caviar was amazing, but the noodle dishes were way too salty. Between the Lamb Jajangmyeon and the Lobster Myun, the latter was my favorite. It was very very flavorful, but they definitely need to reduce the saltiness. It was still unpleasant to eat the leftover sauce and noodles, even with rice

Food was outstanding! Everything we ordered and ate was excellent (ceviche, family ramyun, lamb ja jang myun, Donkatsu), except the purple cabbage slaw that came with the Donkatsu was a little strange tasting. Our reservation was for 3:30 and I got a call at 3:31 asking where we were and that they were only going to hold the table until 3:45. We were just a few minutes late. Then one of the 1st things they said while walking to table was that there was a time limit and we would have to be out by 5 at the latest, but 4:50 would be preferable. My family and I felt like they didn’t even want us to dine. It was a rushed, uncomfortable feeling. The waiter recommended the most expensive items on the menu. The only soda they carry is Coke. I pushed my family to go to this place so I felt bad that our initial experience was going poorly. It was unfortunate because the food was so good, deserving of their Michelin star, but the rushed and impersonal treatment tarnished the experience.
