We went here while visiting from charlotte for a birthday weekend. The service was fantastic - they had a nice happy birthday sign waiting on the table and gave an adorable ice cream cup for dessert. While pricey, and definitely not something I could treat myself too often, it was a special treat and a perfect way to show the birthday guest how special he is.
Always on point
Great wine list
The overall experience was spectacular. Going for our anniversary, it was the perfect place. They surprised us with a champagne toast and a handwritten card for our anniversary. The food was amazing. And the service exceeded all expectations. Would absolutely return.
We went for our 3 year wedding anniversary. They get the little things right (I.e. instead of generic bread & butter it’s a popover, personal note when we arrived, knowledgeable waitstaff). The food is high quality but not significantly better than other high end Austin restaurants. Overall a nice experience for a special occasion.
Great service. Delicious appetizers. Wagyu ribeye was top notch. Great wine selected by wine sommelier. Wonderful to see a cheese selection for dessert.
We celebrated our 21st Wedding Anniversary and the entire night was a wonderful experience at Jeffrey's. From our glass of champagne to our bone in ribeye all through dessert was amazing. Can't wait to share the restaurant with more friends and clients.
The card on the table for birthday and cupcake with candle was very nice for bd. The tortellini was a bit off, maybe too much like bread rather than a light pasta. The foie gras sandwich is divine. The squab was good but your quail is better, so hope you bring it back. Always a pleasure to dine at Jeffrey's.
We found the food to be pretty one-note. The seared fois gras appetizer was way too sweet, and the puff pastry on which the fois gras sat was was burned and tough. The tortellini appetizer tasted just ok, and there was a lot of foam for foam’s sake. We couldn’t tell what was in the filling, though the little sweetbreads were fine. We shared the seafood risotto, which was supposed to be made with unit butter. It was overwhelmingly salty and lemony, and did not taste of uni. There seemed to be a good amount of seafood, but a lot was in the shell so the amount was deceptive. The lobster was cooked well, but the clams were just tiny. We skipped dessert. Our table was next to a table of 10 women who made it a point to raise the noise level to excessive, and the noise grew louder as the evening went on and thru had to shout across the table to each other. Large parties need their own room.
Beginning of school
Had a terrific dinner and a fun time with our family .... cozy table by the window was terrific .... plan on coming back soon to try the other 5-6 items I saw on the menu that I wanted to try !
Had a great time with great service and the food was delicious. We initially got sat next to a very loud table but they quickly accommodated us when we asked and moved us to a better, quieter location.
The bench chair was hard as a rock - and my tailbone hurt by the end of dinner - but a small price to pay for the experience.
My husband and I made dinner reservations here at Jeffrey's to celebrate our anniversary. The staff quickly greeted us, had us at our quiet and comfortable table in no time, and was there to wish us a happy anniversary. The menu is very simple, yet efficient with several options to choose from with each course. We really enjoyed the King Crab and Avocado toast, that was delicious! Our server was very knowledgeable about the food and drinks served at Jeffrey's and had no problem helping me with trying a wine. He was right on the nose with the choices as well! If we ever return to Austin, then I am most definitely coming back to this place. The food tasted great and can't be beat anywhere near them.
Top restaurant in Austin!
Great as always! They did forget to bring our our food we packed to take home, no big deal though.
Amazing place as always! We had not been there in a while. The place has been remodeled and looks as good as before. They have a new bar that keeps you entertained until you are seated. Would come back for special occasions.
Amazing food and amazing service !
Wonderful dining experience. Great fusion of high end elegance and Austin ambiance. My future secret weapon when I need to impress.
Went for my wife's birthday this week.. was fantastic.. while we've lived in Austin a long time this was first time here and we wondered why we haven't been here yet it was so good! ... service was great / very attentive.. food was superb... very nice, relaxing pace..... will definitely be back soon!
Great experience. The himachi was delicious, and the filet was fantastic. The souffle for dessert was a terrific conclusion to a wonderful dinner.
Everything was amazing!
We had the absolute best time at Jeffreys for our wedding anniversary. They truly made us feel indulged and special without being overly stuffy. The food was incredible and they perfectly paired wine with each dish. Staff knowledge and hospitality is top notch. Truly the best place to splurge on dinner for a special occasion.
Nostalgia takes me back occasionally. The food quality has not kept up with other Austin restaurants and prices are comparable to New York.
AMAZING!!!!! LOVED it!!!! The food was fantastic, and the wines amazing!! LOVED the entire experience!!!
Really great date night. Food was outstanding.
The food was excellent and our server, Vanessa, did a wonderful job. She is very pleasant and personal (in a good way). The issue we had with this dinner was that our reserved table was not ready (20 minute delay) and it took over 2 hours overall by the time our dinner arrived. We drove 4 hours to Austin for our daughter's move in at UT and then to have to sit through a 2 hour dinner was not what we were expecting. The seafood risotto is spectacular, but there was maybe only 2 tablespoons of risotto. Disappointing and light on volume.
Best meal and dining experience I have had in a long time!
That had to be the best steak I’ve ever had. I had the Center Cut 8oz. Tenderloin.
My dessert was ok, I had the Carrot Cake and I don’t think I let enough Rum burn off.
Expensive but worth it! Extensive wine list - half price bottles on Sunday nights.
went for your anniversary and the wait staff was prepared with champagne and a greeting card.
The service and food was excellent. Always a great spot for a special occation
Have not eaten here in a while and I am wondering why. Valet is complimentary. Service was on point and food. I do not have enough space to describe the food. You will have to go check it out yourself.
Jeffery’s still tops the list for fine dining in Austin. Creative and innovative menus and superb staff who attend without being intrusive keep things moving along at just the right pace. The cold tomato soup was a super, summer surprise. We started by trying a couple of their featured craft cocktails (whimsically named after OPI nail polishes)—I’m Not Really a Waitress—which set the tone for a special but not stuffy evening. Wine pairings with the halibut and short ribs were spot on. Really need to remember to go more often!
Chelsea is the best hostess. Still amazing food and service.
I've been wanting to go to Jeffrey's for a couple of years now. Took my girlfriend for our anniversary and it was a great decision. Jeffrey's provided us a bigger table along with a glass of champagne on the house as we sat down. The food was amazing and the service was also great. No complaints about our anniversary being spent at Jeffrey's. I would highly recommend Jeffrey's for anyone wanting to visit. It was also a bonus that everyone there was really friendly and people would come by often to clear our plates, clean our tables and provide us another glass of wine or refill our water. Thank you Jeffrey's for making this such a memorable evening for me and my girlfriend. We look forward to visiting you in the future.
It Was amazing, food great, atmosphere excellent and service outstanding!
It was a 25th anniversary celebration and they treated us to a glass of prosecco! Then a lovely dish of popcorn that was perfect with the bubbly. I had a caviar course and my husband had a salad. Both were very nice. He had the duck and I had the filet. They both prepared to our liking. We were both very happy with our entrees. The service was warm and attentive. We will be back!
2nd time celebrating our anniversary at Jeffrey’s. We’ve decided we’re starting a new tradition of spending our celebration moving forward here.
After many years of living in Austin and wondering what Jeffrey’s was like, my husband and I finally bit the bullet and made a dinner reservation. It did not disappoint. The service, food, and ambiance was excellent (very upscale-Austin), and we always appreciate an opportunity to get dressed up.
This review would be remiss without mentioning a slight snafu...my husband and I ordered two different entrees, and a back-of-house mistake resulted in us both being served the same dish. When I brought it to a server’s attention, they quickly whisked it away, offered me two delicious bites while I waited for them to cook and serve my correct entree, and then comped my entire entree and our dessert. I was more than pleased with how they handled this tough situation, and it did not negatively impact my experience. My husband and I will DEFINITELY return soon—can’t wait to try their HH.
outstanding relaxed atmosphere, with old Austin vibe. a little noisy, but quite manageable
Service and waitstaff are excellent!!!! Food was briught out perfectly timed, and done to exact expectations. We will go again....and again.
The food was OK, but not particularly special for the price-point. The service was awful (e.g., they brought out my wife's drink a full 15 minutes before mine, thus making us wait a really long time to toast her on her birthday, with the one drink sitting in front of her). I had to call for the waiter a few times, as he was nowhere in sight for very long stretches of time.
