We go to Jeffrey’s once or twice a year for birthdays and anniversaries. This used to be one of my favorite restaurants but sadly I think it’s slipping. They brought out our $150 steak and the center was cold. It was cooked properly, but cold... seemed like it had just sat too long after being cooked. We asked them to heat it up which they did, but unfortunately the steak suffered because of it since it was already sliced. Very disappointing. A couple years ago they undercooked our steak but returned with excellent replacements, which made me still love going there. This was a more disappointing experience. It also leads you to wonder... how does a steak place keep screwing up cooking steaks? Also, I used the restroom this time and the first one I went into to had water (or something) splashed every where, all over the seat, sink and floor. The second one I went into had paper towels all over the floor. This is not what you would expect from what I have long considered the nicest stake restaurant in town. Perhaps the difference was because of the day we went, in the past we have gone on weekdays and this was a Saturday night, so maybe it was too busy although one of the employees said it was a slow Saturday, so not sure. Perhaps we’ll try again on a weekday but my enthusiasm for the restaurant has definitely waned. Shame.
The food and service was outstanding. It had been several years since we had visited Jeffrey's but
this was even better. We had the snapper and the dover sole and both were outstanding.
Good ambience with attentive and friendly service. The gnocchi with black truffle was wonderful - both in presentation and taste. However, the Dover sole was dry and lukewarm by the time the dish reached me. Apparently, the dish was likely neglected as the fish seemed over-cooked and then probably left under a heat lamp for an extended period of time, if even. I was in no mood to get this remade as it was already late in the evening. A bit of a shame as I know this establishment has always had great potential.
We are always pleased with our experience here; food was amazing from appetizers thru desserts, and all our servers were a pleasure.
Fabulous as always. The food is amazing, the service is excellent, one of the best restaurants I have been to.
Great service and food. Nice high end experience.
service was impeccable-attentive but not overly so;the food was beautifully presented , creative prepared;
wine suggestions dead on, lovely warm ambiance...hope to be back someday!
Waiters as wonderful as the steak. This is a real dining experience. We received just as much courtesy and service with our split meal as the guy at the next table who paid for two huge plates with a $1,000 bill. And loved how quiet it is!
It was amazing!!! Loved the atmosphere and the service was fantastic! The food was incredible!
Everything about Jeffrey's is PERFECT! The food, the atmosphere, the impeccable service!
The hamachi was amazing, light bright and delicious. Oysters were perfectly cooked. We ordered the seafood risotto and the 8oz Wagyu beef tenderloin. The risotto was flavorful and not lacking a variety of tasty seafood and the tenderloin was perfectly cooked and flavorful. The staff were attentive, friendly, knowledgeable and well mannered. We had a wonderful evening and really enjoyed the atmosphere of Jeffrey's. Thanks for a 5 star meal and memorable night!
Great food and drinks and service. Ambience was tricky. Recommendation is try to plan seating with the restaurant based on your plan for the evening. Our plan was romantic evening for two, but we were seated in one of the really small side rooms with a larger group who had a casual, heavy drinking party night in mind. Not the best alignment.
Belated Valentines Day
The food was amazing and service was very helpful.
I have enjoyed Jeffrey’s for over twelve years now and never once been underwhelmed. From the bar to the dining room to the private dining suite... Not an inexpensive night but they just hit on all cylinders so it is just worth it. Table 58 is amazing for two and our Captain, James was informative, professional and friendly. As Mr. Ferris Beuller says “if you have the means, I highly recommend it...”.
Lovely restaurant with well trained staff.great drink menu and food was excellent.
Visiting my dayghter
So glad we went. From cocktails to meal/wine to dessert, a top tier restaurant anywhere in the U.S.
We had a wonderful meal! Jeffrey's is one of the best of many restaurants at which we've dined!
Our waiter made our dining experience one of the best ever. His knowledge of the food and wine was perfect
Wine list is outstanding
Great food and service...as always. Thanks and keep up the great work!!
The Yukon Gold were amazing, the ribeye was one of the best I have ever had.
Outstanding and very knowledgeable staff. Definitely looking forward to going back!
Fantastically old school vibe with a lot of history, but a menu and attitude that's completely up to date. Interesting options on the menu, everything we ate was delicious.
Some of the best service I've ever received, food and wine was sooo good!
Great place! Would be hard to beat the quality of service, food, and ambiance. Eric, our waiter, was superb. Made online reservation and mentioned we were celebrating a birthday and would be attending a performance at the Bass Concert Hall after dinner. Restaurant confirmed reservation day prior and suggested arriving a bit earlier for dinner to accommodate our time schedule. Impressive attention to detail. On our table was a nice card acknowledging the birthday. Parking is very limited, but the restaurant offers valet parking and is very efficient.
I took my boyfriend to Jeffrey's to celebrate his promotion. I had heard great things about their happy hour, but wanted to try dinner. I told the restaurant what we were celebrating ahead of time and they went out of their way to accommodate us and help celebrate the occasion. The service was incredible and the food is some of the best in Austin - which is saying a lot. We had a romantic table tucked in the corner and it was an all around great night - exceeded my expectations!
Amazing place. Great food and exceptional service. A unique gem in Austin.
Close and charming atmosphere, great food and outstanding service! Great venue for special occasions.
Beautifully presented food. Everyone loved their entire, especially the seafood risotto. The chocolate soufflé was delicious! Would definitely recommend Jeffreys!
We love Jeffrey’s! Everything we ordered was delicious.
Phenomenal from start to finish. Went for happy hour to celebrate my mom’s birthday, and the food, drinks and service were stellar. To start, they seated us at a lovely table with a birthday card. The steak, wood fired mushrooms and coffee ice cream profiteroles with salted caramel were the stand outs. The leek soufflé, popovers, waygu burger, and acorn squash tortellini were excellent too. I can’t imagine how you could ever go wrong coming here, especially to celebrate!
It was our anniversary and the service, food, atmosphere were perfect. Wonderful evening. Highly recommend!
We returned to Jeffrey's for our post-wedding dinner, and sat in the Napoleon Room. Our meal and experience was the pinnacle of a perfect day, and we compliment Jeffrey's for providing an exceptional experience.
Best dinner my wife and I have ever had, and that includes some of the nicer restaurants in Europe and in other parts of the U.S. and Caribbean.
The vegetables that were served with my Sole entree were phenomenal! Of course, all of the other offerings were delicious; fresh and sourced locally, I imagine. The pop-over served before the meal is quite a treat. The chocolate souffle is definitely to be shared.
The atmosphere felt a bit more casual than the previous venue. The division of the space, however, lends itself to pretty comfortable table conversations.
The servers are awesome. Steak was wonderful. Dessert was okay, I think this is an area they could improve. Pretty expensive when you factor in all the side dishes and drinks. Good for a celebration.
I always think of Jeffrey's as a place to celebrate special occasions. The bar is so fun and festive and the main dining area is lovely. We decided to go last week for my birthday. We had a perfect table and the best service ever. Thoroughly enjoyed everything, until the food came. Not only was most of it totally overpriced, every single dish was a disappointment. The Dover Sole was dry and fishy, the Osso Buco was tasteless and the best part of the short ribs was the side of grits. Caesar salads just ok. We did not even order dessert because there was nothing on the menu that even sounded good! I would say go for a drink and sit in the bar. The other is overpriced and totally not worth, but you will have the best service you've ever had!
