Great restaurant for a romantic evening we both enjoyed it our waiter was great worth every penny
We came for my birthday and but for a small happy birthday card on the table, no one mentioned a word about it which we thought was unusual for a restaurant of this stature. We have been to Jeffrey’s many times before and loved it but this night was a huge disappointment. The service was slow and inattentive. The server failed to mention soufflés take 20 min until it was time to order dessert. By then it was already 1045 (we had a 9pm res) so we declined but he said he could get us two in 12 min. We agreed and one came out 5 min later and the second came out 12 min after that and was burnt. The steaks were delicious but everything else was mediocre. We ordered a very nice wine ($400) that the server recommended but it also was mediocre. For a $600 special dinner, it was not special in any way. It left such a bad taste in our mouth for Jeffrey’s, I’m not sure we will return.
Amazing in every way. Food, service, ambiance, all were impeccable.
We've celebrated the last two anniversaries at Jeffrey's and came away feeling fully feted! So glad we have this little gem!!!!
Jeffrey’s is an Austin icon that shouldn’t be just a good memory but enjoyed now. Hard to get to the top; even harder to stay there. Jeffrey’s is still there. First class in all categories. My wife and I celebrated our anniversary there, but don’t wait for a special occasion.
The service was sub par. We were a few minutes early for our reservation so we waited in the bar area since the hostess said it would be ready right on the dot of our reservation time. We were told she would come & get us when it was ready. She never did. We had to go up to the hostess stand 15 minutes past our reservation. The wait staff wasn’t impressive either. Three waiters passed our table with two empty plates & didn’t pick them up. They barely give you any cheese for the “cheese cart.” It was more of a tease cart. The bread was more of a crust. Ambiance is nice & the steak was great but the service was so terrible that we will not be returning. Overall, it did not meet our expectations.
Snapper was delicious. Steak was amazing. Chocolate soufflé was divine. Five stars, Jeffrey’s.
My husband and I went to celebrate our anniversary. We enjoyed everything from their King Crab - Avocado Toast as hors d'oeuvre to their perfectly cooked steaks (seared in a broiler at 1200 degrees). Jeffrey's staff were professional and knew just how to make an evening memorable and special. We have already recommended Jeffrey's to several friends because of our enjoyable experience!
You won't find many special places like this in Austin anymore. The food, ambiance and service were top notch. Bottles of wine are half price on Sundays which makes it an exceptional treat!
We have just found the food too variable in quality. Went there in June and the wagyu ribeye was the best steak I had ever had and the creamed spinach was the best ever--there last week, and the same steak was poor quality, not nearly as tender, and even had some silver skin on the outside--unforgivable for a $130.00 steak--spinach was way overcooked and dried out. Wife ordered the chocolate soufflé, and it was actually burned to black on the top and it ruined the taste. Server should have noticed. At this price point we expect far more consistency, especially for an anniversary celebration, and we are not at all sure we will go back, and I cannot recommend it in good faith--shame, we have had some great meals there, but this one was less than mediocre.
So I made our reservation weeks in advance for our 16th anniversary and we planned on sharing the the 42 oz Ribeye dry aged 32 days! We were super excited! Needless to say we were a little disappointed they were out of this cut. So after mulling it over my husband chose his second choice, the guinea hen and I had ordered a couple sides and a salad. This amazing staff did NOT disappoint. They are pretty much fantastic. The food was great but the staff and experience was the best we have ever had. We will be back and next time I’ll let them know ahead of time I’ll be ordering that Bone in Ribeye! Thank you Jeffrey’s!
Jeffrey's is amazing every time, and Molly was absolutely sensational. Her ability to relate and her knowledge of the wine list were perfection. Jeffrey's is by far our favorite restaurant and we'd eat there every weekend if we could!
Thanks so much for making our anniversary celebration so special.
Good steaks. Overpriced. Noisy place. Some items on the menu not available or ran out that day.
Always a delightful treat! Impeccable service and an exceptional dining experience.
Jeffrey’s was a great experience start to finish! A relaxed Sunday night dinner but at the same time, no detail was overlooked and the food was outstanding! Can’t wait to go back!
Service and food was top notch as usual! There was a nice note left for my boyfriend for his birthday, dessert was comped, we loved every minute and have decided to make this a yearly tradition. THANK YOU!
Everything was perfect. Appetizer, steaks, side dishes, wine and dessert. Excellent service as well.
Jeffery's is by far the best dining experience in Austin. Everything was perfect from the valet in and out. We arrived on time, our table was ready, the wait staff was kind and helpful. The local lettuces & Texas peaches salad was a perfect size, bright, and delightful. We then each had the petite tenderloin filet. Both were perfect and yummy! We skipped desert for the evening but shared a couple of wonderful chocolates and candies at the end of the meal, courtesy of Jeffery's. We can't wait to go back.
This has been one of our go to places for special occasions, back to before reservations were taken when one had to stand in line for special occasions - especially for Valentine's. It did not disappoint this year for our 56th wedding anniversary dinner.
This was my first time to eat st Jeffrey’s. The food was delicious and the service superb!
Service and ambiance are excellent. While the food was good, I expected it to be outstanding for the price point. Brussels sprouts were great, the best part of the meal. Seafood in seafood risotto just okay.
Great food, great service, wonderful atmosphere. Always a memorable experience at Jeffrey’s.
Very nice intimate setting. Fantastic appetizer and salad. Everything was wonderful until the 24 oz bone-in Wagyu strip from Beeman Family Ranch. There was so much gristle much of the meat could not be eaten and that which was eaten took ample chewing. This is NOT what I pay $130 for. Finally, staff took so long looking after s larger table of 6 they never asked if we wanted a drink refill and showed almost 15 minutes after I asked to see the cheese selection. Full of apologies and comped an appetizer which was thoughtful.
Sometimes service issues happen and it was handled well. However, there is absolutely no excuse for serving a piece of meat as tough as the one we received.
Great place outside of downtown for a nice business meal.
after having not had the best experience at Jeffreys the last couple of times i have been in, they redeemed themselves with this visit. only "issue"....they brought us out a complementary order of hand cut fries...then charged us for them?? i didn't want to complain over a $10 order of fries (we did in fact eat and enjoy them) so i let it go.
Exquisite! Best dining experience in Austin for food, service, atmosphere and experience.
The food was amazing! The wine list has just about every wine you would want. The service was great, friendly staff.
The best service that I've had in years and the food was superb. We enjoyed drinks from their "Martini Cart" to begin our anniversary dinner. We finished with chocolate souffle. Everything that we ate in between was of the finest quality and taste. It's expensive, but worth the price for special occasions.
Best meal I've EVER had. Service impeccable. A loud family sat next to us towards the end but that's not the restaurants fault.
Fabulous food, ambience and service. Our first time there and we will be back.
Very nice evening. Food is delicious, service fabulous.
Anniversary. They made it very special !
I have been going to Jeffrey's for many years. I enjoy atmosphere, food and upscale dining. Only negative comment I have is wine list seems to have changed with lowest cost wines over $100/bottle -
yikes! This is caution I will be making to friends and others considering dining there.
Our experience was absolutely spectacular. Everything was mind blowingly delicious, and the service was absolutely on point. I can't say enough good things about this place.
Excellent service- everyone wished us a happy anniversary throughout the evening. The ribeye was seasoned and cooked perfectly! Yummy sides (Brussels sprouts, mashed potatoes, creamed spinach gratin) and lots of nice extras like popcorn, truffles, and champagne to start! The chocolate soufflé was outstanding! Loved and will definitely be back!
Amazing. Everything was great!
Upon arrival, we were pointed to the dining room. I explained that we had reservations in the bar, which had been confirmed by voice mail the previous day. I was told that we could be accommodated in the bar, but we had to vacate by 7:30. Our reservation was for 5:30. Upon being seated, the waitperson reiterated that we must leave by 7:15 so they could bus the table for the next customers. We assured her that we would not cause them, or the next party, any inconvenience. Service and the food was excellent from then on. About midway through our bar snacks, we were informed that the 7:30 reservation had been canceled and we had the table for as long as we wished. We left by 7.
Forty-three years ago we had our wedding rehearsal dinner an Jeffrey's. Over the years we have gone back on special occasions. This is the first time we have experienced a SNAFU on their part, which the staff so pointedly threw back upon us. Hopefully, they will be a bit more tactful next year.
Pleasant personnel, good food, good service, an all-around treat. Will return.
The restaurant is Pricey, particularly the wine and steak
