Jeffrey’s is by our far our favorite restaurant. We’ll be back again and again.
Always a elegant dinner and evening at Jeffery’s. This is the BEST restaurant in town.
We had a very nice night there on the day before Valentines. Tony was our server and he was great. The only thing I didn't like was where we were seated. The bench seating had table too close together and had to listen to pretty much everything the folks at the next table were talking about. I think the layout could be a bit better with some kind of partition or something. But still a great place with amazing food.
Jeffrey's is always terrific, but the inability to sit at the bar and enjoy a drink or a glass of wine before being seated for dinner is a big negative. They need to get there bar sorted out.
First Jeffrey’s is that special restaurant that you visit a few times each year. Special occasions and when you want that extra touch on service and the meal makes it a go to place. Derek was an excellent server and his cheese choices and excellent way to end the meal. We both had seafood which was prepared perfectly with the seafood risotto, the best we have had since our trips to Italy.
The food and ambience were ultimately everything you would expect from this iconic high-end restaurant. Interestingly, the main course -- when first delivered -- had two issues. First, one of the side dishes delivered to the table was not one that we ordered. The waiter immediately said, I will bring you the correct dish, and this extra one is on us. Then, my steak, which had been ordered "black and blue" was neither. It did not have a good sear on it, and the inside was pink at best. I pointed it out to the waiter, and -- again -- the correction was prompt and effective. My replacement steak was perfect. The remainder of the experience was flawless. Therefore, I score Jeffrey's five stars, and would continue to recommend it. Make no mistake, though, it is expensive. Specifically, the wine is severely overpriced. I know wine, and I have an extensive personal cellar. I expect to be charged a premium for wine in a restaurant; I do not expect to pay four times the retail price. Therefore I grade them down on "value", not because it is an expensive restaurant. I am not offended by the price of their entrees. But the wine prices are needlessly excessive.
Another wonderful dining experience. We order the steak tartar each time as a starter and as always it was a divine way to start our evening. Thank you for the complimentary warm olives. Our steaks were cooked and seasoned to perfection. We were commenting on the flavor up to our final bite.
Our server was wonderful, just the right amount of attention. We appreciated her asking for our valet tag so our car would be waiting for us, that was the first time that has happened. A really great final gesture to end the night on.
Our first visit to Jeffrey’s was 30 years ago. We try to visit twice a year, this is our favorite Austin restaurant.
Food and service were great as always. Even when they brought our entrees before our salad course they handled it well. Don't miss the steaks and the brussel sprouts.
Attentive service and delicious food. The components of each dish were high quality and the execution was spot on. Everything was prepared and served appropriately. Definitely worth return visits.
Fun and delicious dinner to celebrate friend birthdays. It had been several years since we’ve dined there and we were so happy to find the same elegance, attention to detail, great service and amazing food we remembered from past visits. Five of us shared Caesar salad, field salad, warm olives and gruyere bites, two fish dishes — loved the barramundi with Meyer lemon — and a petite filet. We finished with the “over the top” and decadent baked Alaska and coffee.
One of the best places in Austin, hands down. Attentive service, killer cocktails, amazing steaks — you can’t really go wrong.
This place is incredible! I had never been there before but my wife had in the past so she was familiar with the level of excellence Jeffrey's maintains. What can I say? The service was impeccable, the food was amazing, and the atmosphere is cozy without being crowded. It was one of the best meals I have ever had and we will be going back! Very highly recommend Jeffrey's for dinner or any occasion.
I absolutely loved Jeffrey’s! It was my birthday tonight and our server Eric was absolutely wonderful! I will definitely be returning soon!!
Jeffrey's was a great place. They are a bit overpriced though. My pork chop (with nothing else) was $60 and that's very pricey...
There's not much to say other than Jeffrey's is exceptional in every way.
Came for my anniversary. If you’re looking for a place to amaze a date/ surprise a spouse. This is it. We spent about $450 on dinner and tip. Food was good, but didn’t really wow me. I ordered the 42 OZ steak. Partly curiosity, part because I love steak and expected an amazing cut. The steak was $160 itself. It was good. Expected great though for that price. I’ve had better steaks at Saltgrass. Not trying to knock the restaurant, just personal opinion. Potatoes were good. Wine was good. We ordered a bottle of wine and just relaxed. We didn’t feel rushed and service was good. Not great. Food was good, not great. Overall- id be back for sure. You won’t leave disappointed or regretting spending the money. We had a good time, and we’re glad we went. Food is subjective so others may like things we didn’t. Vice versa!
One of my favorite places. Food and service were unreal
Excellent in every way. A must when in Austin.
Service was amazing. Steak was cooked to perfection. Enjoyed our anniversary meal.
Everything was delicious. We’ll definitely be back!!
I was told that if you wanted the best dining experience in Austin, Jeffery's was THE place to go. It was VERY expensive and i can say that i was disappointed in the staff, the quality of the food and the ambiance. the service wasn't anything better then you would get at a halfway decent steak house. the food quality was good, but by no means great. steak quality was only a 6 out of 10 and the whipped mashed potatoes are completely devoid of flavor. my wife commented that her fillet minion tasted freezer burnt (that was the best way she could describe it). lastly, the place is wide open, dimly lit (causing people to break out their phones to read the menu) and super noisy. for my wife and i to eat there with a bottle of wine the bill was over 400 dollars. i've had MUCH better steaks at Flemings, Truluck's, Eddie V's and the Captial Grill - for half the price. in the end, i'm glad i experienced it, to say that i've been, but i won't ever go back.
Two of our party asked for a glass of red wine when our steaks came out & they were brought out later after the steak arrived.
I asked for the Perry's sauce which came out later after my steak.
My friend asked for creamy horseradish for her steak, which was brought out way later than they steak.
Overall everything was great, but we just wanted the wine & sauces to be there when our steak arrived to the table. The ambience, food & our waiter was awesome.
The service was so incredible that it was almost overwhelming. We had one of the best experiences of our life. And the oysters were amazing!!! Can’t wait to go back!
Perfect place for a nice evening out. Had the short ribs, duck, and Brussels sprouts- all amazing! Servers were very knowledgeable and attentive. Also saw a cozy fireplace and armchairs that others were enjoying drinks in. Highly recommend!
Always an amazing and lively dinner - a must go for out of town guests, celebrations, a nice date or just head to the exquisite bar for a totally cool vibe.
The service, as always, is unmatched in Austin. We felt pampered by staff from the moment we sat down.
I was a bit disappointed with the food this time around, however - the hamachi crudo had a massive smattering on horseradish that almost rendered it inedible (and I LOVE horseradish). The entrees (turbot and filet mignon) were very good, but I would not say excellent (the lobster atop the turbot was a bit overcooked), and considering the price point, well... we will be back, but probably for bar happy hour.
Great ambiance. Seating arrangement for cheese cart and table prep drinks could be better but overall executed well given the constraints. Rolls were amazing with crispy exterior and moist inside. Steak sides were great complements to flavor. Brussel sprouts leave you wanting more. Dessert was two complimentary souffles. Felt we missed being offered dessert and ending drinks before receiving the check but overall we had a great time.
Great food great service great atmosphere
Every time we've been here it's been the same you know you can expect the quality
Fabulous dinner. Excellent Service. Could not have asked for more. Also the best French Burgundy wine list in Austin by a mile!
Wonderful, as usual! Our waiter, Eric, did a wonderful job, as did the rest of the waitstaff!
What can I say...Jeffrey’s was perfect in every way.
Upscale but still felt like a neighborhood restaurant, service and food were exceptional
I cannot recommend enough.
Overall a good restaurant. The staff was well trained and attentive. The food was very good, but not great. Overpriced for a mid-upscale restaurant.
My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful time at this upscale restaurant. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The menu was amazing as is the Creative Chef. Will come here again when we visit Austin again!
Enjoyable meal at Jeffrey’s. Service was excellent. We shared a 26oz Wagyu Ribeye. The meat was prepared superbly, and tasted fine, although we were slightly disappointed that the fat marbling was not what we expected.
Food and service always good. Wish the tables weren’t so close together as we had a loud group next to us and people jostling into us to fit into bench.
The baked Alaska for desert was wonderful. Wish they’d bring back the lobster and caviar appetizer. Homemade grapefruit soda was the best mocktail I’ve had anywhere.
Wonderful service and cuisine
A perfect evening - food and service excellent. Most enjoyed by all of us. Made and extra special beginning to our family Christmas!
A minor suggestions - turn the lighting up just one more click.
I am not from Austin and this restaurant was recommended to me to celebrate my birthday. I was told this place was to impress. I think the thing that impressed the most was the cost. In my opinion the menu is way overpriced not to mention the wine list which actually put me off to the point that I did not want to order any.
The service is excellent and professional, the ambiance nice and formal the food is good but 52 dollars for a Risotto is insane. And I am from Milan so I know a thing or two about risottos.
The tortellini with white truffles was a good try but 2 things were wrong. A) you grate the truffle in front of the customer as part of the experience and to get even more flavor and then you don’t need overpower the 3 tortellini with many other flavors or else your truffle is lost.
In general not a bad experience and the service was truly very professional but I would not go back or even be able to suggest it
Dined here last night for my husband's birthday. Although my Foie Gras was excellent my husband's steak was average - we cook much better steaks at home. Our side dishes were just average and the complementary popovers were burned. The service was pretentious as well as inefficient and they threw away our leftovers after we specifically asked to take them home. The gal at the hostess desk was downright rude to us. She told us we could not start by having a drink at the bar but she would serve us a drink in the hallway if we didn't want to go to our table right away. That did not make feel welcome. With so many excellent dining choices in Austin I doubt I would pick Jeffrey's again.
