Jeff Ruby's Steakhouse - Nashville Ratings and Reviews
We went on Valentine’s Day and it was both of our first time and we could not have been happier!! This is one of the coolest places Weve ever been too. Like I went back in time, very Great Gatsby-esque. Our server Barrett was STELLAR and the food was PHENOMENAL! Never waited for a thing and they escort the ladies to the restroom (much appreciated given I was in 4inch heels). Will definitely return!
The Manager- Trish- was fantastic. Available, checking in frequently. When a medium well steak came out rare, she was helpful and friendly in getting that fixed. The servers were all very friendly, pleasant, and nice, but there are a few basics I expect when dining at this price point that were missed. Great mac and cheese!
We decided to go to Jeff Ruby's for an early Valentine dinner. Our table wasn't quite ready, so went to the bar and ordered a drink while we waited. The bartender, and bar-back, were both very pleasant (the bartender was also very knowledgeable - had some bourbon questions).
We were escorted to our booth which gave us a great view of the restaurant; we really enjoyed the atmosphere (upscale, but fun and comfortable). Fresh sour dough bread (fresh from Cincinnati daily) served with unsalted butter and mushroom truffle butter (delicious). We started with Caesar Salad and the Beet & Goat Cheese Salad (Caesar was good, but the Beet & Goat Cheese was exceptional). For our main course we ordered the rib eye special of the night and the Collinsworth (which were both cooked perfect) and a side of Macaroni & Cheese -- it really is the best Macaroni & Cheese ever! We ate a little over half and had the rest packaged to go so we would have room for desert. We ordered the donuts and the Cracker Jack. Both were very good, but next time we'd prefer another choice (just personal preference).
Our server was OK; not quite up to what we would have expected. He didn't provide much detail when we asked questions about the menu, and he had very strong opinions of what we should order. Our busboy, Brock, on the other hand was out of this world - - he was johnny-on-the-spot with everything (very professional, really enjoyable to speak with when we engaged him - - he will be an awesome server one day).
Overall, we had a fantastic time and look forward to going back. Next time we'd like to sit in the area near the bar where we could enjoy the piano player. Highly Highly Recommend!
Great food, many wonderful selection s,fantastic staff,. Our server was Jason Blandford and his attention to our every need was superb. We eat out several times a month and have never received the care and attention that Jason and your entire staff afforded us. Jason took the time and answered questions about the different entrees and gave us his recommendations (all of which were excellent. I my wife was especially impressed with the "escort to the powder room". What an impressive touch. I would definitely recommend the crabcake appetizer. The side dishes are enough for two. Can't say enough about this wonderful restaurant and Jason. It is a two hour drive from our home, but we can't wait to come back . Please keep up the good work, we will be telling everyone about this great experience.
Paul and Derek took care of us and were AWESOME! So many other servers and helpers also smiled at us and took the time to fill our waters, crumb our table and engage us! You guys really have the "staff attenion" MILES over other restaurants in your price point! We thought last May (our 1st visit-anniversary) that we would only be able to afford to come once a year... Well, it's already been 4 times (and twice in less than 10 days). The quality and special way you treat guests make it worth the money. Great vibe Friday night!
We were a party of 3 after Matinee TPAC performance of "The King & I" this past Saturday. The ambience was wonderful---we felt "tucked in" our booth near the Wine Room and enjoyed the Piano music from front of the house but were able to have conversations throughout the evening. The Art deco chandeliers, the lighting and the Coral booths, the escort to the Ladies room---we were enveloped in comfort.
Our service was impeccable from our appetizer to the dessert by our on point server Paul. He was attentive and friendly but not overbearing~~gave us our time and spot on recommendations and we truly felt pampered.
We started with Cocktails- the Old Smokey was perfect and then started with
The Lobster bisque--best I have ever had --hands down. Paul made the Wine recommendation after talking to us about our palates~~ It was a great selection~ Faust~~Cabernet Savignon. We ordered the Porterhouse---we shared and the Chef sliced for us in the kitchen and was cooked to perfection Medium rare and was outstanding! Again~Paul steered us well to our Sides of Mac &Cheese and Creamy Spinach and finished by Jack Daniels Chocolate cake with after dinner Cappuccinos & coffee. A very memorable meal, the best I have had in Nashville in last 10 years and am plotting my next occasion to dine at Jeff Ruby's!
Experience inside was excellent. Until I stepped out of the door and a faulty brick slab on the sidewalk beside the fire pit caused me to face plant. Tore up my knees and injured my back. Informed 2 valets which informed me they knew of the faulty footing and couldn't believe it hadn't been fixed yet.
We have dined several times at Jeff Ruby's and were absolutely dazzled, but this night got off to a rocky start. Bar service was slow, but once we were greeted, our bartender was awesome and very educated on their wine selection. Once seated, our bread took 29 minutes to get to our table, even though other tables that were seated after us had already received their bread and some had appetizers already. Our server never noticed, but a completely unrelated server did. He turned our experience around. Our dinner came about five minutes later. Every single bite was incredible! We had the steak and lobster with mac and cheese. Perfect! Even the bread was delicious! (Probably because the grains were thrashed by trained mules in the back of the kitchen, and the butter was made from the milk of angel cows in heaven. Ha ha.) The quality of food and ambiance never disappoints!
We love Jeff Ruby's! We think our server was just spread too thin that evening. We will definitely be back!
