Jeff Ruby's Steakhouse - Louisville
Jeff Ruby regulars will be pleased to know that their favorite signature items from the Cincinnati restaurants will be well represented in Louisville. The bone-in filet, the 7 cheese baked macaroni, creamed spinach, truffle flake creamed corn, & of course Jeff Ruby's secret recipe cheesecake will all be staples of the Louisville menu.
Styled after the great NY steakhouses of the 1930's & 40's, Jeff Ruby's promises to be as pleasing visually as it is to the palate. French art-deco design, plush mohair upholstery, hand selected antique furniture and cinematic crystal chandeliers anchored by a 1950s-era antique featured in the Starz series Magic City and the 32 foot wall of wine.

It was ok one of you waitress spilled wine all over me and just said she was sorry didn’t accommodate me for what she did
Jeff Rubys never disappoints ❤️Took my daughter before we went to see Aladdin. Service was exceptional! Very expensive restaurant but so worth it to feel like you are being pampered. We started with fried green tomatoes. Best I’ve ever had. My daughter had the salmon and I had the sea scallops. Divine. We shared a Freddie salad and were too full to finish our sides of green beans and mashed potatoes. Can not go wrong at Jeff Ruby’s. My go to “Special Occasion” restaurant in Louisville.
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. Our waiter Bryan was outstanding! He was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and allowed us to dine at a very comfortable pace. The entire team was friendly and helpful. Would definitely go there again if we ever return to Louisville.
Bad service with Daniel as server. Put in the back room which was just ok ambience. No attention to detail. Messed up order and didn’t credit the bill for the error when got the meal fixed and everyone else was just about finished with their dinner. Never cleaned the table off between courses. Lots of “food debris” and extra glasses left on table. For party of 6 that spent$700 at least not a good experience. Food was very good however. This is probably 10th time at this restaurant and always been great till tonight
Our waiter was awesome and very knowledgeable. The service was great.
love this place , our kiddos want to go every night
Fantastic atmosphere, service, and the food is absolutely phenomenal. Top pick in Louisville.
Food was great and Colin (Trevor) wss even better!
Super dinner. We brought a three month granddaughter with us, the staff fixed a place for her, she looked at the lights and ceiling or slept. Dinner was superb
Jeff Rubys never disappoints!
One of the best restaurants I’ve been to. Awesome sushi and steak.
I have tried every steak house in town, including the less expensive places and Jeff Ruby's has my vote for best Porterhouse in town. Best steak in town, a bit lacking in service after check was delivered. They are busy, but, need to make sure refills are not needed. Just a little push through on the service, please.
We greatly enjoyed our meal and the service was impeccable.
Jeff Ruby’s is definitely classic fine dining. Maybe teetering on slightly dated. Bryan was a great server, clearly experienced and very friendly. Server assistant was also a delight. Food ranged from okay to excellent. Highlights of the meal included the sidewinder cocktail, pork belly appetizer and of course the dry aged ribeye. But the overall show stopper was the creme brûlée. Absolutely incredible. Overall good experience, but could definitely pull itself more into the modern dining scene.
Yum. We had just gotten married. Had a great table. Food was excellent.
Jeff Ruby's was truly the greatest restaurant I have ever been to! The atmosphere was elegant and the waiter was amazing. We felt like we were very well taken care of and the food was amazing. The only reason I gave the value a 4 star review is because it is a very expensive menu. It is great for once or maybe twice a year but there's no way I could afford to eat here more often than that. However, you get what you pay for and the food here simply has no comparison. Be prepared to spend about $70 per person at a minimum, but you will always remember your experience at Jeff Ruby's. Our anniversary was amazing thanks to the chefs and waiting staff of this restaurant and we will definitely be coming back!
Service & Food were outstanding! Wouldn't consider another restaurant in Louisville on my next visit because I'd choose Jeff Ruby's every time!
Best Dinner EVER, the filet was amazing! Our waiter Paul was top notch! Definitely recommend
We have enjoyed Jeff Ruby's several times in the past but unfortunately this experience was not the usual excellence. Appetizers and steaks were luke-warm at best, caesar salad was weirdly sweet and my medium-rare steak was charred and bitter on the outside and flavor-less on the inside. I am not sure what happened with our meal but it definitely was not up to standard. A disappointment, especially because we were there to celebrate birthdays. It may be a while before we return.
Grant was amazing and we will be returning for next years anniversary as well!
Our server,Jacob was awesome and the food was excellent. I’m from DC and it would be difficult to match the steak I had. The dessert with the local favorites served on a wood tray in the shape of the state was incredible !!!
We had a great meal. From the sushi appetizer to dessert, everything was delicious. Our steaks were cooked perfectly and the Mac n cheese was to die for!
Excellent service and food never disappoints!
One of the best steakhouses I've been to anywhere. I'm a steak and potato guy and the cowboy ribeye was one of the best I've ever eaten. It was cooked perfect temperature and very favorable. Service was outstanding and the "vibe" was entertaining. I would definitely go back when in Louisville.
Food was good, wide selections of wine, beef, and seafood. What staff was excellent. Very noisy restaurant, piano volume is over the top!
It was my son 40th birthday dinner. Waiter was GREAT!!!
Best steak I’ve ever had! And the service was outstanding!
I love taking each of my grandchildren out for a special dinner on their 13 th birthday.. this was perfect. I have eaten at Your restaurant several times but this was a first for my grandson. He was treated so well and quite impressed. He went on and on about his steak and the ruby roll! Your cheesecake was icing on the cake! Thank you!!
Loud and seafood over priced.
Jeff Ruby steakhouse in Louisville is where you want to take the foreign visitors, the food is excellent, the wine list a extensive and the service is the best. Nick is the perfect waiter, he remembers your preferences, he is prompt and very attentative. We have never had a bad day at Jeff Ruby, only a lot of compliments by the people we take there about the quality of the meal!
We only had one problem, this restaurant seated us in the corner. We sat here the last two times. It seems suspicious. 😒
Fabulous food and service as usual. If you have never been, you are missing out on one of the best dining experiences in the country.
On a recent trip to Louisville, we ate here twice. The first night was out of convenience since it's connected to the Galt House where we were staying. The second night was due to how fantastic the food was the first night. I started off both nights with crab bisque (excellent), followed by the 12oz Barrel Cut Filet. The first night, it was perfectly prepared and easily one of the best three steaks I've ever eaten; the second night it was still delicious, but not quite as good as night one. However, it was still a fantastic steak. We had sides of hashed potatoes, squash with goat cheese, loaded garlic mashed potatoes, sautéed asparagus, and truffle corn. Would definitely recommend a visit here.
Beautiful restaurant and great atmosphere. Service was great. Food looked pretty, but did not taste as good as it should for the price.
Excellent expeience! My wife had a wonderful time for her birthday.
Hands down the best bone in cowboy ribeye steak when compared to several other specialty steak houses in NYC and DC. Cooked medium rare plus to perfection.
Great experience the waiter was very knowledgeable and helpful. Made the experience one our best at fine dining establishments.
One of our favorites when in town. Fantastic food and service.
Outstanding meal and service!!! We are from out of town and come every time we visit.
Excellent as noted above. Only minor improvement would be size of drinks, a bit small.
