Jeff Ruby's Steakhouse - Louisville
Jeff Ruby regulars will be pleased to know that their favorite signature items from the Cincinnati restaurants will be well represented in Louisville. The bone-in filet, the 7 cheese baked macaroni, creamed spinach, truffle flake creamed corn, & of course Jeff Ruby's secret recipe cheesecake will all be staples of the Louisville menu.
Styled after the great NY steakhouses of the 1930's & 40's, Jeff Ruby's promises to be as pleasing visually as it is to the palate. French art-deco design, plush mohair upholstery, hand selected antique furniture and cinematic crystal chandeliers anchored by a 1950s-era antique featured in the Starz series Magic City and the 32 foot wall of wine.
We offer a complete, turn-key private event planning experience. This includes an array of audio/video and floral options. Our sales manager will work with you and our vendors to ensure every detail exceeds your expectations.View Private Dining Details
Love Ruby’s but the price value is not there anymore oysters were exceptional salads good $70rijbeye worth about $40, green beans great
We had a wonderful evening. The staff is friendly and congenial. The manager and a wonderful gentleman who was from Cincinnati talked to us for a long time. The food was superb!!!!! Would recommend anytime
Excellent service with Nick L. He was attentive, knowledgeable of the menu and his recommendations were greatly appreciated. Our cocktails were too notch. Thanks for a wonderful evening.
It was our first time to dine at Jeff Ruby’s. We concur with all of our friends who have been there that Jeff Ruby’s does an excellent job.
Way too noisy. Could not hear what the person next to you was saying. We have been coming here often and it has gone downhill as far as dress code and noise made louder as piano was magnified and people trying to be heard having to tell back and forth. Our waiter Nick always a delight!! On top of any need. One of the managers that was using a cane to get around kept circling our area NONSTOP!! Very upsetting and unprofessional. One of our party received her filet almost completely RAW. The filet was ordered medium (has never been a problem EVER) Like I mentioned going downhill and we may have gone to Longhorn or Outback which would definitely fit the atmosphere and dress code. We dress for special nights out, with the atmosphere no longer "SPECIAL " we will need to find a different location where there is a more intimate atmosphere and a dress code is enforced! Very disappointed that Jeff Ruby's is now just another place to eat and as such very over priced for an average restaurant!
We love Jeff Ruby’s. Great food and service. ❤️❤️❤️ Jacob was our waiter and he was outstanding.
Overall excellent experience. I would highly recommend your restaurant to others.
Wonderful experience for my girlfriends birthday. Steaks were perfect and cocktails were delicious
Dinner with customers
This place is awesome! One of the best restaurants in the
Best restaurant in Louisville!! Amazing steak and worth every dime!!
This is a fabulous restaurant and so much fun! The entire staff are so polite and friendly. The food is great and so many items to choose from, all delicious and a great wine list. The best is Robbie Bartlett she is the best singer and we just love her. Great entertainment. Really our favorite restaurant!!
Jeff Ruby’s. Always good. Best restaurant in Louisville. Service is excellent
This is our second year in a row going here and we absolutely love it. We will continue to go here every year for our wedding anniversary !
The experience was exceptional and the food was superb!!!
Great steak and great service!
Carpet on outside steps needs replacing. Doesn’t reflect the quality/image of Jeff Ruby’s.
While very knowledgeable our servers sales pitch was a bit long. Once it’s apparent we know what we want stop talking and take the order...
Third visit to this location as we were very disappointed. The 4 piecec shrimp coctain was seevred in a small metaL BOWL WITH ICE. For $24.00 I would have expected something a little more apealing . The last two time this has been severed on a mountains of ice with a blue light iside the ice. Very nice!
Ordered both steaks med. My 8oz filet was med well and the Bone in cowboy steak was also med well.
For the prices that are charged we will not be back.
Service was outstanding. Food very good with the exception of vegetables, undercooked and not seasoned well. Mixed drinks, steak, and seafood terrific.
I've been to Cincy & Louisville locations and both exceeded my expectations. There is no other that tops my experiences at Jeff Ruby's. I appreciate the Black Friday gift card savings. I also appreciate the Thank You card mailed to me after dining with them. THEY ARE THE ABSOLUTE BEST
This was our second time at this restaurant for an anniversary and it was fantastic as always.
Everything about our dinner was outstanding! This may be our absolute favorite restaurant in Louisville!
My husband and I absolutely loved everything about our meal and dining experience. Our waitress was so friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. We were there for a birthday and they even boxed up a complimentary cheesecake. We highly recommend The Godfather Sushi Roll, Barrel Cut Filet, Creme Brûlée and Chocolate Cake. Most amazing dinner ever.
Never had a bad steak at Rubys. Always cooked perfectly.
Celebrated my four year anniversary and it was amazing!
The service was impeccable and the food was delicious. It had an upbeat vibe and the bar had live music with old standards. It was a perfect spot for a romantic anniversary celebration. Everyone was so helpful and had a great attitude. We just returned from Las Vegas one of the foodie cities in the US and Jeff Ruby's topped everything we had. They did not disappoint.
The waiter Andrei and helper were excellent. The house salad was lacking in dressing and ingredients, too much bacon! The crab bisque was nearly too salty but delicious . The creamed spinach was lacking flavor and could’ve used onion, which would greatly enhance the flavor. The Mac & cheese was to die for. I had a 12 oz Filet with crab topping which was lump crab and not the meat from crab legs like the pic showed. My wife’s Filet was perfect with the Collinsworth top. I ordered the steak medium and it was medium rare. Maybe have another bread to offer other than just sour dough ( I can’t stand sour bread). The cheese cake was delicious!
I was very disappointed by multiple aspects of our birthday celebration dinner experience at Jeff Ruby’s. My coworker is from Miami do I wanted to treat him to my favorite restaurant in Louisville. I made the reservation a month in advance and specified on the reservation as well as with host who confirmed my reservation over the phone that we were celebrating a birthday and that check should go to the lady at table. Of course that was not relayed. Food was very mediocre. The shrimp cocktail was not as large and tasty as I am remember in past and neither was The Godfather roll. My friend (whose birthday it was) got the scallops which were okay. The service was less than desired. Our server was named January—not friendly and very abrupt with wanting to take our order. I felt like we were being rushed out. As a birthday treat, a slice of cheesecake was brought out. My friend is lactose intolerant and didn’t eat air. Would’ve been nice to have been offered an option for dessert like other nice restaurants do. Will definitely not recommend Ruby’s to friends, family, or coworkers again. Not what it used to be.
Great food and service! I would highly recommend this for a dining choice.
The night could not have been any better! So friendly and such wonderful food. One of the best nights we have ever had! Brian was our waiter and he was Awesome.
Fabulous as always, thanks for making our son’s birhday great !
There were three of us from work and I searched on open table for an early dinner reservation. Found the 5:15 PM was available. Booked it and after a ten minute walk, we arrived on time for our reservation. We were seated promptly and our server brought is ice water sourdough bread and took our drink order. They have a nice selection of cocktails, wine and beer. Since we were on a work expense account, we needed to keep the total bill to $300 or less. We decided to share a tomato salad, creamed spinach, and a baked potato. My friend ordered the grilled salmon which she liked. She doesn't eat red meat, so it was a good choice. My other friend ordered the 12 ounce filet. He got his medium and I got mine medium rare. The files were very good and the creamed spinach and baked potato was a nice way to complete the filets. After finishing our meals, we all shared a peach strawberry trifle dessert. It tasted fresh and very refreshing. We left full and under our budget. I highly recommend this restaurant for dinner
Excellent food and service. Always the bext.
Birthday was great, good service and great food
Service was outstanding.
The steak was wonderful. Best steak I have ever eaten.
Anniversary! Food was delicious!! Service was on point. Definitely would go back!! Loved it!!
Consistently great steaks, sides, cocktails, & desserts. Worth every penny.
Exceptional anniversary dinner. Had reservations and arrived 15 minutes early. Was seated within 5 minutes to a nice booth seat near the middle. Waiter explained the drink menu and made us feel very comfortable. It was our first visit and he explained the menu and gave us some good recommendations. Wife had the filet medium rare and it was cooked perfectly. I had the Ribeye medium and had nice char on top. Great flavor. Sides were more than we could eat. Got free cheesecake and took several pictures for the occasion. Will be back again soon. Live entertainment was awesome. Restaurant had a nice vibe with the music. Dress up or dress casual no one cares just have fun.
