The first & only steakhouse of its kind in the Louisville area, Jeff Ruby's Steakhouse serves only dry-aged USDA prime beef. While steak is the foundation of the menu, Jeff Ruby's promises to please seafood lovers as well with its raw/sushi bar & seafood entrees.
Jeff Ruby regulars will be pleased to know that their favorite signature items from the Cincinnati restaurants will be well represented in Louisville. The bone-in filet, the 7 cheese baked macaroni, creamed spinach, truffle flake, & of course Jeff Ruby's secret recipe cheesecake are all staples of the Louisville menu.
Styled after the great NY steakhouses of the 1930s & '40s, Jeff Ruby's promises to be as pleasing visually as it is to the palate. French art-deco design, plush mohair upholstery, hand-selected antique furniture, and cinematic crystal chandeliers anchored by a 1950s-era antique are featured in the Starz series Magic City and the 32-foot wall of wine.

Food & service was absolutely delicious as always, but Kay is simply underrated. Her creations need to be on the menu! I’ve said it before but she’s very gifted…. She’s always willing to please and she does such a phenomenal job and there’s nothing like her creation’s!!!

It is a rare occasion for us to give a bad review. We hope they improve from our experience. We have dined at Jeff Ruby's in Louisville multiple times, however last night was highly disappointing. Our experience started out with being seated in a smaller dining room off of the waiting area. My husband joked they did not want us in the main dining room. We later discovered they were placing similar families in this room, felt like profiling to be honest, maybe we were not cool enough to sit in the main dining room. The dinner started with a caesar salad for the table that lacked dressing. A bright spot in the evening is the steaks ordered were cooked well and had a nice flavor. The salmon came out rare and was sent back. The creamed spinach had an odd flavor and was not eaten. The lobster gnocchi recipe changed from our previous visit and was too spicy compared to their previous recipe that had a wonderful smoky flavor. They did give us a complimentary dessert as it was our Anniversary. Even that was odd as it tasted like a cereal bar with icing. The dinner was $477 before tip (3 people) and was quite disappointing. We have never had an experience like this at Repeal or Morton's. Fortunately, there are better options within the area, this is our last visit to this location.

Our petite filet was superb; sides delicious, wonderful service and the team was very attentive. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals accompanied by a talented pianist in our dining area. The added touch of a little birthday treat was very kind as well; it made for a memorable evening.

The view at our table was excellent, Michael was our very attentive waiter with Charlie assisting. Wife’s filet mignon was sublime, asparagus was large enough portion to bring some home. Atmosphere was inviting, decor and ambience made my wife’s birthday truly memorable!

We had a wonderful dining experience for my husband's birthday. It was his and his parents first time at this location, but we have been to other JR restaurants. The drinks were crisp and colorful. The appetizer sushi was flavorful and different. Freddie Salad- always good. Steaks all cooked perfectly. My father-in-law thought the mashed potatoes were the best he'd ever had. Desserts were tasty. My husband loved the JR cigar. I hear the Lexington restaurant has a blue wildcat cake that I really want to try. Our dining experience could not have been any better.
