Took the family here for my daughter's birthday. Food was fantastic and our server was the best! Loved the live music behind the bar. The only issue we had was the bar itself. While waiting for a table, my husband and I tried vainly to order drinks (both standing behind other seated bar patrons and sitting at the bar itself). A little over 25 minutes of waiting and we never got served or even looked at. I would say that the issue was a lack of staffing at the bar on a busy Friday night. Other people around us were frustrated as well.
Great food. Great service. Best steak sushi and burgers...fun bar and music
1st Anniversary and 1st visit. Our experience was phenomenal. Nic took amazing care of us from the moment we arrived. Going with his suggestions we tried the mac n cheese, hash browns, petite filet, and the boneless ribeye. Everything hit the mark.
But wait there was more .... we had dessert! The choices were too much for us to handle! We went with the original cheesecake. We got the chocolate sauce on the side just in case.
Oh my heavenly god - we do believe this is the best cheesecake we have ever had.
Almost 24 hr later and we ate the remaining cheesecake and chocolate- sweet baby jesus it was still melt in your mouth deliciousness.
We both also had a drink from the bar they were on point as well. Elijah Craig for him and an Amaretto sour for me.
In case you missed it - it was an amazing experience and we will return.

Every appetizer has seafood in it. If you don’t like seafood, then appetizers are out. On a good note, my wife’s $60 steak was free because they forgot about it. She at least was able to enjoy their amazing sides while the rest of us were able to enjoy our steaks. Great and wonderful service.
1st trip to this JR location, food and service was 5*
My girlfriends son was having his 18th birthday and we were celebrating him joining our military. We wanted the night to be special and it couldn't have been any more than excellent.
Thank you for making it a night to remember
I found the service to be outstanding. Our waiter was excellent in every regard. He did an outstanding job letting us know the specials, bringing our food timed to let us enjoy each course without feeling rushed or waiting. The steaks were excellent along with all other courses other than the asparagus was a bit average. They would be better with the sauce on top of them instead of as a dip. And smaller asparagus is always better. They were a bit on the large side. I might suggest the cost of the mixed drinks be reduced just a bit. However the overall experience was top notch and I will return to enjoy what I believe to be one of the finest meals you can get in this city.
It was very loud. Very loud. But the food was AMAZING!!!! We sat for almost nine minutes before greeted by our waiter, which was surprising. But the food was AMAZING!!!! We positively will be back
We had a lovely evening! The staff made our experience that much more enjoyable and the food... well, it was delicious, as always!
As usual, Jeff Ruby's didn't disappoint. Food and service was perfect.
It was my Son's 30th Birthday. Put that in the notes when reservation made. Was very disappointed that no one at Jeff Ruby's took the time to read the special occasion notes I entered when I made reservation on Open Table. Not one person mentioned it to us. Not one person called us by our name, and that was in the reservation as well. This could have so easily been a 5-star review across the board as our steaks were magnificent, and cooked perfectly . Bone in filet simply the best. The sides were spot on as well. Hash Browns and Mac & Cheese live up to its billing. William's service was good, and the support staff behind him even better.
But it all goes back to the fact, I chose your place for a very special occasion, and you didn't read the notes. Wasn't going to bring it up in front of him at the table. One simple 'Happy Birthday John' or thank you for spending your birthday with us, from anyone at the restaurant, would have been nice. Great food, yes. 5-Star experience, no. Don't miss the small stuff.
Great!! Always great food and exceptional service.
Outstanding place for any occasion! Great wine list as well as menu.
Jeff Ruby's is a first class establishment from the moment you valet, until you finish your desert.
The atmosphere is electric and bustling with some light music from above the half moon bar, which is perfect for a pre meal cocktail.
The service is top of the line, and the staff is very professional, but also easy to converse with for meal questions and information about the restaurant and area.
The food is nothing short of fantastic. All of it. Steaks and sides were absolutely perfect.
From the drinks to the desert, it was the best meal and experience we could have asked for.
We have been several times and can't wait to return. It's the best experience around, by far.
Has become our favorite restaurant. You can always count on it to deliver top quality food, and service.
This is always one of my favorite places to go. It's consistent and the food is always perfectly prepared. It's always our first choice when going to the theater, as it's within walking distance of the Kentucky Center for the Arts. Customer service is top notch here and the drinks are wonderful. I don't remember seeing such a great wine list. I love the lively bar area and the main dinning room is lively but, cozy also. Can't wait to go again!
phenomenal food, drink, & service. just doesn't get any better
Absolutly the best service ever from John and Lee as a team. They do not 'bug you' just make sure you have what you want when you want it. The fresh oysters were incredible and my NY strip was as tender a steak as I have ever had.
The food, ambiance and service are excellent. You should be prepared to pay, though, and I’m not sure it’s worth what they charge. There are many upscale steakhouses who serve delicious meals in a beautiful environment. This one is one of the best but also one of the most expensive.
Jeff Ruby's has become one of my favorite places to eat in Louisville. Great atmosphere and the food is also great. Took my wife there for her birthday and she loved it.
Food was amazing. The wait staff was on top of their service. There was no wait. Reservation at 715 and we were sat right away.
We had a fantastic evening, with great service and great food
We always love Ruby’s! They NEVER disappoint!
Worth revisiting. Liked it a lot better than Morton’s
Absolutely top notch but you do pay for it. Great music and atmosphere to match the food.
We had a wonderful birthday celebration at Jeff Ruby’s. It was my husband and mother in laws birthdays. They even gave each of them a piece of cheese cake.
My husband and I go to Jeff Ruby’s at least 3 times a year and it is always a great experience. Great food, service and atmosphere!
Excellent as always! Having recently been to Ruth’s Chris as well, you forget just how much better Ruby’s is than the competition. My wife’s birthday and they even made our daughter feel like a princess as well.
Best steakhouse ever
Excellent as always! you the man Jeff! the food is amazing and can't wait to come back
After trying all of the Jeff Ruby's Restaurant in Ohio, I am not a fan of the food in Louisville. The root vegetables tasted like dirt, the Salmon was good however. My friends 60 dollar steak was overcooked and fries were cold. Come on this is unacceptable!!!!
Tuna appetizer was a great start to the meal. Unfortunately, that's where it ended. The Ceasar salad was drenched in dressing and not edible. We waited nearly an hour after the salad for our entrees and when we asked the server what the long wait was for, he quickly said something about the mac and cheese side not being perfect, so they had to remake it? Which is interesting, because when it arrived it was so unbelievably salty that we could only eat a couple of bites. It literally made my tongue tingle from the salt. My husband said his filet was great and my lamb was okay. The risotto was wonderful except for one spot that was, again, so salty!? It was as though someone threw a tablespoon of salt on one spot. The manager came by and apologized for the wait and comped one of our entrees and offered comped desserts, which was very kind and appreciated. However, the food was hit or miss and subpar for the reputation and price tag of a Jeff Ruby's. Maybe it was an off night? We won't be back.
Great meal from start to finish! Service is great and ambiance is lovely. Can’t wait to come back.
Food and service as good as always which you’d expect for $70 steaks plus $13 salad and $12 sides. Piano music was a little loud considering we were in back of restaurant. Still best steaks in Louisville!
By far the best restaurant in Louisville. Service is amazing. Never disappoints.
It was a wonderful experience from reservation through dessert! Couldn’t have been any better.
Always love going to Jeff Ruby's. It's expensive, but the quality is outstanding. Atmosphere is romantic. Live music is outstanding.
The food and service were great as always! From sushi to steaks the place is great.
Great bar service, great wait staff, there was 6 of us everyone’s food was cooked perfect. It is pricey but all steakhouses are pricy. Overall a great evening.
Good food... Good Atmosphere.... A little too pricey... in general...
