Jeff Ruby's Steakhouse - Columbus
Everything about Jeff Ruby's Steakhouse was first class.....from the servers to the meal - OUTSTANDING!
My wife and I had a very nice Anniversary dinner on Saturday night. The service was excellent, as our server did not rush us, and offered some great options. It was a little noisy, but other than that we had an excellent experience.
This restaurant has been added to our favorite steakhouses of all time. Great ambiance, great food, and our waiter Jordan was the best!
Server was fantastic! She was knowledgeable, friendly and attentive (without over-serving). Two different managers came by to say hello and check on us. Filet was phenomenal and my husband loved the Golden Bear Sushi Roll. The Carrot Cake was flavorful but the cake itself was surprisingly on the dry side. Jeff Ruby's does an AMAZING job of making guests feel special. We look forward to our next celebration there!
Please thank Rachel (I am pretty sure that is her name she has brown hair--stacked bob and a very pleasant voice)...she is wonderful.
Best dinner and experience ever!!
Disappointed. We have been there a few times and always enjoyed. This time we were very underwhelmed. Our stakes were so so. Our baked potatoes were not done. Our corn was cold. For $150+ I expect a lot more.
First time we have visited and didn’t love our level of service. Food was amazing as always!
I loved the atmosphere. Very elegant. My steak was good but not outstanding, especially considering the price. Service was excellent.
Always a great ambiance along with superb food at Jeff Ruby’s. And whether Jamie is working behind the bar or as our server she provides excellent service!
We have tried most of the Steakhouses in Columbus and it is right in the mix with The Top, Hyde Park, Mitchell’s and Eddie Merlots. I would have to say the only thing that set Jeff Ruby’s apart were the oysters. Delicious and a must have. Although the ritz crackers were stale.
A dining experience, service and food was great. A very classy steakhouse with great seafood.
Been to this restaurant many time and love it every time. It’s a high end steakhouse so the prices aren’t cheap, but they are always well worth it. Food and service is always amazing. Only disappointing part of this dinner was that they changed their policy and no longer give a full / regular dessert for a special occasion and now just give a dessert that is specifically for special occasions. But that would never deter me from dinning at this fine restaurant. Also there is live music on Friday and Saturday nights which makes it even better.
Absolutely outstanding, best meal at a steakhouse I have ever had. Can’t wait to come back.
I had a great time. Food was great, the whole thing was great. However, it is pricey. There are several very good steak houses in Columbus that would of been about 100$s less. My wife and I shared an appetizer and salad, she got a free desert because it was her birthday, and with minimal drinks (3 Total), it was still over 300$ (Not including tip). While I would love to go back, I am not sure if I will.
For a steakhouse my 65.00 done in ribery was overcooked and very dry. I asked for Rare plus and got medium.
I ve had better steaks at the Top and HydePark ..
Best dining experience we ever had and the best Jeff Ruby restaurant we have visited.
My one complaint is that only one of the three steaks ordered at the table were done properly. We asked for them to be cooked medium needed to be sent back because they were rare. When they were returned they were overcooked. Very disappointed
Our Waiter was great
I went for my Birthday. I had a wonder time. The food was amazing. The pressed coffee was to die for!! Amazing! 5 star
Awesome restaurant for fine dining, great atmosphere, great food and service.
I've lived in Columbus more than forty years, have been an active participant both as customer and team player in some of the city's most-remembered restaurants, now currently serving in a role with a much-loved and successful retail destination in German Village where part of my function is recommending dining options for lots of hungry customers and visitors. And let me also say that Jeff Ruby's might not be my recommendation for everyone - it is pricey, and it is a Steakhouse with crazy-over-the-top Venetian chandeliers and acres of white linen tablecloths, three friendly, professional, and (are you reading this, other high-end Columbus restaurants? - UNPRETENTIOUS Wait Service staff for every table) - not a vegan place with communal tables (I like those, too)... ... Even the handles on the front doors bear the metal forgings of Jeff Ruby's initials, and the House Burger has them branded right into the top of its bun(!) - So you know whose place you're dining in all the time, right? But here's the deal - What this confessed skeptic found out on his first visit to Jeff Ruby's Steakhouse - Columbus is that he'd rank them right up against and above any other high end restaurant in the city, without hesitation, including any of Cameron Mitchell's fine addresses. Jeff Ruby's just demonstrates, in every detail, that they simply know... how... to... do... it... right. This is how a great restaurant should be measured, and if you only ever visit there once, you should really do it in order to see how it should be done. I'm looking forward to going again - Don Brewer, Columbus
Had an enjoyable meal. Great food and service. Good selection of bourbon too.
Typical steakhouse, everything ala carte. Was hoping for couple surf and turf special but was no longer offered. Noise level high due to bar proximity and design. Staff friendly. Food-8oz filet was awesome, wedge salad had too much dressing and sides were small and average tasting. Not someplace I would visit often due to price.
Once again Jeff Rubys proves why they are the best! Starting with the beautiful restaurant, amazing food and the best service they are second to none. I can’t wait for my next visit!
Not as good as it should be for the money.
Great service, great steaks. By far the best sushi we have ever had! It was our anniversary amd they treated us very well.
Great service. Food was great. It is very pricy, but good.
Pear appetizer was not very good due to pear not being ripe. Caesar salad had too much dressing, but decent. There was a September special, which be both got, had good steaks and mashed potatoes, but grilled shrimp had no taste. Our server was very good. My biggest issue with Jeff Ruby is that the wine markup is unconscionable. This will probably keep us away versus Hyde Park.
All I can say is amazing as always!! The best place for a steak in Columbus!
Average food at best with a very high price. We were disappointed. No staff member asked why we were there, if we enjoyed our food, etc.
This is our 3rd trip to Jeff Ruby's in Columbus, and as always, the food and service were outstanding. It is a great place to enjoy a wonderful meal.
Donavan always gives great service. We love to be seated with him.
I have been to many Jack Ruby restaurants in the past, both in Cincinnati and other places. My experience at Jeff Ruby‘s Columbus however was absolutely exceptional. Our waiter, Jordan, was wonderfully engaging, knew the menu in great detail, had a great personality and made our evening a wonderful experience.
The food, especially the filet mignon with blue cheese on top was exceptional beyond belief. By far, the best steak we have ever had.
Looking forward to our next trip to downtown.
Ordered filets (excellent, perfectly cooked). Shareable sides were great, creamy Mac and cheese and creamed spinach. We also ordered thick cut bacon as a side but I wouldn’t recommend it unless you like thick chewy bacon. Service was great, and martinis were spot on.
Had special going with fillet, jumbo shrimp (2), salad and potatoes for $49. Good food as usual but still cost around $200 with drinks, one dessert and tip.
Amazing steak, melt in your mouth...with those delicious whipped potatoes and fresh Freddie’s salad...can’t go wrong here!
First time going as this was for my husband's birthday and there were literally 2 parties of people who drowned out our conversation seated at the same table back to back. The food was okay but the desserts were good. I highly recommend the carrot cake. Overall the experience was ok which is sad given the price point.
Super service and excellent meal. Great staff and on the piano m, Dan who adds a special touch!
Amazing experience. We ordered the Seafood Tower, which we were allowed to customize. Wonderful piano music at the bar. Great experience as always
