The duck wings were the star of the show! The drinks were very good as well. Went more for ambiance than the food.
This was our second time at the JHI. It's such a sweet gem in the heart of Jamesport. We love the charm and history of the property. The food is fresh and delicious; attentive, polite service. They really make you feel welcome.
We celebrated a birthday and truly felt like we were transformed back in time with the elegant, cozy ambiance. The cocktails served by an outstanding bartender who albeit swamped made effortless conversation and delicious drinks! Our meal was delicious we cannot wait to return!
Beautiful location, delicious food and attentive service. Thanks so much for a delightful evening.
I’ve been wanting to try Jedediah Hawkins Inn for a while and it did not disappoint. The atmosphere was great, the staff was courteous, friendly and genuinely engaging, and the food and cocktails were PHENOMENAL! I’ll be back for sure!
Very disappointed in everything today! The menu was limited, over priced, food undercooked and server never came back to check? We skipped dessert ate small portion of our food and 400 dollars later will never go back.
Enjoyed a wonderful Easter brunch with the family. As usual Jedediah Hawkins was a great experience from food, to service, to the beautifully historic building and grounds. Always a five star experience!
Amazing Service! Amazing Food! One of our most favorite experiences ever!
We have been waiting for this restaurant to reopen, but we were disappointed at their limited menu. I’m gluten free and grain free. Their choice of vegetables was very limited. Not everyone like fennel and broccoli rabe! I ended up ordered two appetizers. My husband ordered the chicken and it was delicious. I hope they add spinach and a good cut of steak to the menu and perhaps a separate fryer for fries. We live nearby, but the nearest restaurant with gluten free fries is in Shelter Island! Some California wines would be a good addition.
Excellent! We love this place. So cozy. Food is always great. Staff is lovely.
Great staff, and very attentive to our needs. We were celebrating my wife's birthday, and it turned out to be a special night there.
Lovely, old country house converted into a restaurant. The menu was somewhat limited, but the waiter allowed us to mix and match side dishes. The salmon was excellent as was the beef/pork meatloaf. The only thing that keeps this from being five starts is the meal service was rushed. Drinks were received quickly; appetizers almost instantly and entrees were rushed out as soon as the appetizers were cleared. It was weird because the restaurant was not packed and there were empty tables. We were seated and out-the-door in less than 50 minutes and that included drinks and coffee! We should have told the wait staff to slow down, but we were surprised about how quickly the food came out of the kitchen. The food, however, was excellent. Perhaps this was just an aberration.
Perfect place for meal! So picturesque food is amazing service was good prices are reasonable
We love this place. Charming old inn with great food and a great selection of wines and cocktails. Menu is a bit limiting for restricted diets, only reason it isn’t a 5 star review. Try the Speakeasy room.
There were 6 of us celebrating my birthday. Food was delicious and very nicely presented. Restaurant is very quaint. I will definitely be back. Loved it!
It's very solid food (B+) in a very cool old victorian house. Can be a little too quiet some times although that may be partly because we were there in the off season (february) Definitely worth a visit.
Excellent food and service. Attentive quality service. Nice seat next to the gas fireplace. Will be back again.
Staff was limited and service was ok. Drinks downstairs in the BIg Easy room were ok. Not really a bar, hardly anyone there...didnt really feel like a bar (no bartender) and nobody came to seat us at our table... 45 mins after we arrived we decided to go upstairs and see if it was still there. Restaurant was empty so we sat with no problem. Service was good and food was fine but didnt wow our socks off. Nobody was at the hostess station when we left so we got our own coats from the coat check and left. So so evening at best. And it was Valentine’s Day 💔
We had a great Valentine dinner. We had the mussels which were outstanding. I had the beef and pork sausage meat loaf, very tasty. I really don't eat meat loaf out but this is a favorite with me. My bride had the short rib, also a stand out.
Excellent all around!! Food, service, ambiance all wonderful. Definitely will be back!!!
Charming restaurant in Jamesport, NY. Excellent food and drinks; friendly and capable service. A great dining experience.
Too many people in one room creates a moderate noise level. Wrong appetizer was brought out. Multiple times we were asked if they could take our plates, but we were only 1/2 way through. Felt rushed. Non electric car was blocking the Tesla charger. There should be a sign indicating “EV only.”
All minor issues if corrected would make for a 5 star review.
Cozy winter setting with fireplaces (but like this place in summer too). Friendly service, delicious food. A favorite.
A truly perfect dining experience. We were the only diners at the restaurant and enjoyed a leisurely and quiet meal. Our waiter was incredibly accommodating, offered great recommendations, and was a joy to interact with. All of the food was prepared excellently and altered in accordance with some of my dietary restrictions. Would 100% recommend.
Wonderful food, ambiance and service.
Would highly recommend
we sit by the fireplace ....great for a winter dinner the old fashion cocktail great
Delicious food with a cozy atmosphere. Will definitely be back.
I recently moved to Long Island after visiting my folks on the East End for many years. This restaurant had been on my short list for a few months now. It will now be on my " go to list". The ambiance was wonderful. The food was spectacular! All three of us were so happy with our selections. The bourbon sours were delicious! The wine list included several of my favorite Long Island wines. The service was impeccable! Thank you for a memorable evening and I can't wait to eat my way through the winter ( and beyond) menu! OUTSTANDING!!!!!
Great meal in a beautiful spot. Look foward to going again in Spring.
We had such a delightful meal and the servers were wonderful young people who took great care of us.Absolutely charming and the food was superb. Have a drink in the speakeasy before dinner.
Great overall dining experience. We will be back. One thing, consider repairing your driveway.
Great conversation with Steven (bar tender). Made a delicious scotch sour!
It's the second new year's eve. The first one was perfect. This time, reservation for 10:30, we arrived at 10:00. Table was ready. Three options for the main course, the one we chose was out. The replacement meat was full of fibers. Dessert served 10 minutes before midnight together with an espresso, no time to eat or drink before the midnight.
We have enjoyed dinner here many times, most recently New Year’s Eve which is a difficult night for most restaurants. The food and service were wonderful and we thoroughly enjoyed it! We never hesitate to bring friends here for the first time. We always find that they really love it too! The ambiance is elegant but understated, the food is creative and delicious and locally sourced when possible.
Driving up the long drive at 5 pm on a winter day to see the majestic house lit perfectly, I knew I made the right decision for my romantic getaway dinner with my husband. The decor, the fireplace, the lighting... It was impeccable. And then we are and dinner was marvelous. We even peeked at the special occasion barn in the back, imagining a magical wedding in North Fork wine country in June!! We will be back!
Wonderful historic rooms, prompt and friendly service (maybe even too prompt!), super delicious fish dishes, pork chop and short ribs, brussel sprouts, spinach, etc. We enjoyed it all!
Food was ok. I remember it being better the duck is bland steak over seasoned. Overall it's a good restaurant but the last time I ate there it was amazing
Pricey but the ambiance and food are worth it. Service was excellent and attentive. Very polite.
Upscale yet chic casual.
Stopped in for a quick bite yesterday decided to go with the chicken pot pie which is new to the menu for the winter. The flavors were delicious it was the perfect dish for a cold rainy winter day. As always the service and ambiance we're great. Also happened to get a peek at the new winter dinner menu which I am excited to dive into as well.
