Jean-Georges Ratings and Reviews
From my brother: "Fantastic meal for an anniversary lunch. Every course of the autumn tasting menu was deliciously and intensely flavored and meticulously crafted, not to mention the amuse bouche. It made the beginning of our celebration special. Thank you!"
The food was interesting and nicely-presented.
In contrast to the other staff, who were warm and helpful, the sommeliere wore a bored and snooty expression all the time we were there, and was enthusiastic about the moderately-expensive wine we had, which proved a disappointment.
Our trip to NYC was capped off by dinner here and it was amazing. Every dish was very good with my favorite being th foie gras. Would highly recommend this restaurant. Our waitress was very professional, polite and knew everything by heart. The support staff was ever present for dishes and water. But the food...
Been here twice before some years ago. Unfortunately the standard of food and wine is not the same, neither are the prices that are rocket high :-). Having dined at > 100 Micehelin star restaurants all over the world this was one of the most expensive dinners I have ever had, but to be quite honest just mediocre quality on the food and wine, so a bit disappointed.
Service and ambiance is great though.
Visited JG main dining room to celebrate my engagement. One of the best fine dining experiences I’ve had and the restaurant was a perfect venue for a very special occasion. We had the prix fixe which was perfect for our 8:15 start time. It was the perfect amount of food and time spent at the table - we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves without feeling like we were ready to leave until the dinner was finished. I look forward to returning for anniversaries!
Great lunch choice-beautiful atmosphere with sun shining in ..comfortable booths for two to sit next to each other and amazing food. Don’t come in jeans and sneakers. We ordered off autumn tasting menu - 2 courses for $68. I was pleasantly surprised that the courses were quite filling along with bread and complimentary desert bites. Excellent choice for a business lunch or special occasion.
An incredible lunch - the service was flawless as always, indulging every whim, the food was divine especially the tuna ribbons, steak, sweetbreads and the sea bass was phenomenal. Had an afternoon filled with laughter, great wine, superb food and lovely service!
Staff was too inquisitive, pedantic and totally intrusive.
-4 times “welcome back” at arrival was really overplayed.
-then vice versa .. 5 times “is it first time here ?” at our table.
-then 3 times asking if i (we) lives in NY ?
-then 2 or 3 times about our new show going on ..
Thank god .. they didn’t ask finally what we planned to do in our bedroom after dinner.... 😅..give us a break ..😉
Recognition is not inquisition.. a wink is a must..
Please Remember not only to say the right thing in the right place, but far more difficult still, better to leave unsaid the wrong thing at the tempting moment. Lols
Food was excellent and as sold.
$ cost is not my concern.
What an amazing dinner! Our food was delicious. The best service we have ever had... waitress read note from open table and wished my wife a happy birthday by name. The restaurant made special accommodations and birthday desserts for us. We loved it and would definitely go back! Take your gal there for her birthday!
This is my favorite place for lunch. The price is more than decent for a 3 star michelin restaurant. I so love the room and light off of Central Park. The wait staff is amazing and so accommodating. The food is perfectly executed. The traditional vanilla bean marshmallow warms your heart of childhood memories.
We were very excited for our reservation. It started out strong. The service is amazing. Our server and her support staff made us feel welcomed and special. The amuse bouche and our caviar course were outstanding. Wine pairings were delicious. 1st course was good. My husband loved his—fois gras. Our second course arrived nearly two hours after we were seated for our meal. It was just too long. By then we felt really tired of sitting. And we didn’t love the second course. Our third course came quickly after and we ate part of it then requested the bill. They nicely wrapped up dessert for us. I felt bad leaving but my head hurt and I couldn’t sit, eat or drink anymore. Our experience wasn’t Michelin 3 Star in my opinion. But I partially blame us for starting later than we should have and not being able to complete the meal. I cannot stress how great the service was though. And the dining room ambiance was nice and cozy. Not too loud. I honestly feel if I wasn’t so tired and the second course was outstanding then I would have felt differently overall about the meal.
