Everything was great the squab is a must!
Lovely dinner to celebrate a birthday.
Excellent service and experience. The food was great, but the dessert was exceptional. Definitely a wonderful special occasion restaurant.
With only the highest expectations we arrived right on time for our reservation on a Sunday night. Immediately, we were asked to wait for a few moments at the noisy hotel lobby nearby. Fifteen (!!!) minutes later when it became clear that something was not quite right, I decided to step back inside the restaurant reception area and inquire about our wait, but was asked by the different person if I have a reservation (!!!). The front of house manager (or just some in charge) that I requested to see apologised very briefly and somewhat complained that the kitchen was really busy that night and walked us to our table that was set up in front of our eyes. The waiter and sommelier were just doing their job, but it was already very difficult for them to catch up after such a bad start considering that they didn't get any help or support from the restaurant management. The food itself was another controversial item that night with almost all dishes being high on salt level and caramelized foie gras being heavily salted and served with a salty mix of herbs on a side. Also we got an impression that the chef was obsessed with sweet peas as we got them in different forms in three out of four courses. Although the restaurant acclaimed to offer French American with Asian twist cuisine, we also noticed very strong Middle Eastern influence. Another moment that has to be mentioned is that for our 12 years old daughter they offered food from the hotel in-room dining service menu whereas any comparable or even much lower class restaurant we have been to always offers some a-la carte items to be specifically prepared for the younger guests.
Again, visiting a restaurant of this level is all about your expectations meeting the actual experience that fell too far apart from each other that night.
Definitely can't recommend this place to anyone looking for a Michelin star restaurant experience. Neither the food, nor the service.
Service was outstanding. The black bass (on the menu since ‘97) was the star and probably one of the best I’ve ever had. Super attentive and friendly staff.
Most of the courses are good some are very good we liked very much the chefs consideration at the diabetic person thank you
Absolutely wonderful Birthday dinner! Exquisite, elegant, gracious and exciting describes everything from the service to the presentation and experience of each course! Thank you!!
Wow - just a masterpiece! The food was set on a plate!
Amazing as always
Food and service was outstanding one of the best lunch restaurant in New York
One of the best restaurants in NY. Food is 1st class. Today service not at the highest quality as compared to the past.
Amazing experience and the food was great! Would recommend if your budget allows.
Unbelievable as always. One of the best deals for fine dining lunch.
Always amazing service and outstanding Chef’s tasting menu. We will be back again and again!
A superb meal all around. Delicately flavored dishes. Perhaps the best salmon we have ever had. A great wine list with some that were even affordable.
Absolutely loved Jean-Georges. The food was impeccable and the servers were warm and attentive.
Receptionist and waitress were cold. Food is too greasy. Serving was too slow - took them 4 hours to serve all the dishes. It was midnight when we walked out.
The best experience always
Excellent. JG never dissapponts
We have dined at Jean Georges twice before, and our experience just keeps getting better and better. An amazing menu, knowledgeable service team, a lovely atmosphere. Do you want to know how good the meal was? Well, we sat down at the table at 6:00 PM, and we gladly sat at the table until midnight, enjoying every course, every minute, every mouthful. We will be back!
Easter Lunch was superb!
I have always had fine experiences at Jean-George restaurant. The highlight of the weekend.
Surprised by the triple amuse-busch.
Overall, the food was just as delicious as ever and the servers well trained technically, but the wait staff just seemed to be going through the motions without a lot of care/interest. The other patrons in the dining room all kind of seemed to be looking around more than enjoying their own experiences, despite the fact that everyone seemed to be celebrating some kind of "special event." I think next time I'm in NY I'm going to look harder for someplace that feels more energized.
Jean Georges never disappoint! Both food and service were amazing! Looking forward for our next date at Jean-Georges!
Awesome spring menu
My wife and I went here for our anniversary and we were underwhelmed. The ambiance is beautiful, the wine was delicious, and the ideas for the food were interesting and unique. However, the execution of the service and the food was not at the level I would have expected.
For the service, the biggest issue was that everything seemed a little rushed. As they were clearing one course, the second one was already on its way out. At one point, we saw them bringing the subsequent course before we had finished the prior one and it was clear when the subsequent course arrived that our food (lobster and pasta, unfortunately) had been stuck under a heat lamp for too long. So, not only did we not get much of a chance to breath between courses, a couple of the courses definitely suffered from too much exposure to a heat lamp (e.g. hardened sauces, overcooked fish).
It's unfortunate because there were a couple of really stellar courses of food that we thoroughly enjoyed (i.e. asparagus and mushrooms, crudo) but I think the overall experience - especially at that cost - would prevent us from going back or recommending it to friends.
Excellent experience as always. Jean-Georges is near perfect.
The server very unprofessional and not friendly. The meal over cooking, I am very worry about this restaurant,
Been here three times and it was awesome!
Food was great but service was slow. We were not able to get our full meal. We notified them when we made the reservation that we only had 90 minutes to eat. They confirmed they understood that when we sat down but were unable to serve us before we had to leave but charged us the full price for our meal even though they did not deliver it. Seemed like a lot to pay for a portion of a dinner.
Lunch is exceptional and a great value. I also appreciate the selection of half-bottles.
Food was creative and delicious . Clearly, not an everyday experience, rather for special occasions
One of the most superb, imaginative and well served dining experienced ever.
Totally worth the price. Do the 4 coarse dinner The portions are very generous and filling. It’s not only dinner, it’s an experience. We will be back!
