Perfect restaurant to celebrate our anniversary
Beautiful place! The food was good. Great energy and ambiance. Our waitress was very informative and courteous. The only thing that I did not like was the fact that our waitress kept pushing us to order more food. She made us a bit uncomfortable. But I would go back. Nice classy restaurant!
Excellent attentive staff, top to bottom. My issue is that for the price ($200ish a person), the food should be Le Bernardin/Solage/Marea level original, fresh, inventive, a joy to eat. The salmon was adequate, the crispy sushi had fried rice cubes that were bland and chewy... it was good, but not great. Just as his NY restaurant, too. The wine offerings were fabulous, though. I would come back for the roof and the wine list.
We were very surprised when the party sitting at the next table brought their mid-sized dog who was not a service dog or particularly well trained. The dog was jumping on the chairs, pacing around the table and pawing at the sides of the chairs. At least it wasn't barking but not exactly the type of experience anticipated at a fine dining restauarant.
Food was good but setvice was a disgrace for a Jean Georges. Wow. Took forever, apps came with main course, no refills on drinks, plates cleared at will. $600 for brunch and that service. No thanks.
JG at the Beverly Hills Waldorf is certainly NOT the same restaurant as JG in New York! Beautiful room but the service is clumsy and the food is simply mediocre at best. Too bad that the LA offering doesn't come close to other locations.
If you want to spend a lot of money sitting in a very nice room OK, but don't go there for the food or service!
Our waiter was amazing. He personally escorted us to the roof top with our cocktails.
The service, the food, the decor; All fantastic.
My husband and I had a wonderful Thanksgiving! It could not have been more wonderful.
Thanksgiving brunch was exceptional!
A good experience to have Thanksgiving lunch
The service failed in a number of levels. The restaurant was half empty, but it took 15 minutes for the server to show up. We ordered caviar. Ten minutes later the server dropped the amuse on the table — a single plate for six people, and didn’t tell us what it was. When we asked him, he seemed irked and said that it was a cheese puff — period. The food was taking a while, and we asked for bread. They dropped off the bread — also with no explanation as to the different kinds. When they finally brought the caviar, no explanation for the toast choices. Finally I asked the server to stop dropping dishes without explanation and our unpleasant server could not bring himself to apologize or step it up. The food was OK — crab dumplings were too fishy. Broth with Maine lobster was very salty. We love the Jean Georges in New York — exquisite service and food. The Beverly Hills restaurant pales in comparison.
Amazing. Great food and service. Would recommend to all.
I celebrated my Birthday with my Cousin.

Fantastic and memorable meal. Everything was perfect.
The food was great and the attention to detail was incredible.
Great food and exceptional, courteous service. A great choice to celebrate any occasion.
I am a big fan of chef Jean-Georges and have been to several of his restaurants whether in Vegas or NYC and was beyond excited to have my 50th birthday celebration at the Waldorf Astoria location. As a foodie, I insisted that my family who flew in from Florida to celebrate come here for what should have been a typically amazing Jean-Georges experience. It was a HUGE disappointment to the point I do not think I would ever go back. I have a major allergy to chili pepper. In any restaurant I go to, I avoid places where its all or mostly chili pepper spices so I am not left with limited options. There was chili pepper in so many dishes here, that I was basically blocked out of ordering "any" pasta or even fish dishes other than your basic salmon. Even worse, dishes typically without chili pepper like "pesto" sauce...had chili without even warning the customer by putting that crucial ingredient in the menu description. I mean, even for people without allergies, some people just don't like spicy. I ended up ordering things I didn't really want on their nice menu just to have the best chance of eating something without having any kind of chili kick. The duck was just ok. The sauce on the pumpkin side dish should have also been on the duck which was served just sliced with no sauce. This is Jean-Georges... you should be making food "to order" in the kitchen and it should be simple to avoid putting chili in something or at least come up with a quality immediate solution. That's expected from this standard of dining. I would expect the same from Daniel Boulud without resistance. Einstein, the manager, appeared handcuffed to a difficult kitchen that he should not have had to deal with. They put together a pasta dish they used to have on the menu that was just "ok" as prepared. The good? The soup was best ever! Mom liked her veal chop. Bottom line: My father wrote a bad review on Yelp during dinner. In all my years, I have never seen him do that.
Awesome good and service.
Met jean-georges during our staff dinner at NYC restaurant week. After his hospitality we decided to make a bucket list. Visit everyone of his restaurants. #2 was a flight to Beverly Hills for our anniversary. Worth the trip from jersey!! Thank you :)
This relatively new Jean-georges restaurant on the West Coast has been my 5th JG restaurant to dine. I was so blown away! Beyond words to describe the food. Ambiance, interior design, service, and live pianist created a magical and amazing dining experience. I'm always so blown away when I eat at a JG restaurant just how brilliant the combination of flavors and textures. Stuff you would never think of ... yet so simple and not over done. I thoroughly have enjoyed every JG restaurant, but I gotta say, this one has to rank at the top!
The Jindori chicken was inedible. Hard and dry. The veal Milanese was deep fried, overly salted and on a bed of escarole that was unbelievably spicy with ingredients like cranberries that weren’t on the menu description. We had cocktails on the roof bar before dinner and spotted the executive chef up there who did not appear to be on the job. So whoever was in the kitchen did not have quality supervision. Definitely not worth the exorbitant prices.
Great value for money!
My date and I each sampled a vegetarian tasting menu that consisted of 6 individual courses, brought out one at a time over a period of about 90 minutes. The dishes were well prepared and spice level was just right. We also received an adequate amount of food, so that we felt moderately full. The meal with a glass of wine each, including tax and tip came to $500.00, so this isn’t a place for someone on a budget, but it’s great for a special occasion.
5-stars front to back at Jean Georges. Service, atmosphere, food are all top notch. Menu is pricey, but you get what you pay for. Highly recommend for an upscale dining experience.
Food was exceptional. Service was very good. Nice job recognizing our anniversary.
We had a 9:30pm reservation (following an event). There were several other diners present. The staff make it clear that they’d prefer we expedite our dinner, advising us three times in five minutes (from both the host and the server) that the the kitchen closed at 10:00pm. It was very uncomfortable... so we ordered appetizers instead of main course dishes. Before our food arrived, the staff began setting the tables around us for breakfast (placing jams and breakfast items on the tables). Then, they huddled together near a serving bank and stared at us.
If you’re thinking about dining there, definitely avoid late reservations. And, to the restaurant... just close earlier if you don’t want to serve guests after 9:00pm - had we known it was an issue, we’d have just eaten somewhere else. There are plenty of late dining options in Beverly Hills/Los Angeles.
I am generally not one to write bad reviews almost ever though I had to make an exception tonight. A restaurant of this caliber/name greatly missed the mark this evening. From the moment we reached the hostess stand, we were rudely met by the hostess who seemed to be greatly inconvenienced that we arrived 15 minutes early. We were sat outside which was nicely put together though. Our server, who seemed to be extremely rushed pushed us to order our food within 2 minutes of seating. The bread arrived which seemed to be the only great part of the evening. We ordered a truffle pizza which fell flat. We had only gotten half way through the pizza when our entrees arrived. At a restaurant at this caliber, this should not have happened. To make matters worse, I ordered a grilled piece of salmon with a side though the salmon with a nut crust and roasted squash arrived instead. I explained to the server that it was wrong though I would keep it as to not cause trouble. The salmon itself was overcooked (I asked for medium) to the point of the consistency of what you would find in a pouch of tuna at the grocery store, the topping was burnt and there was no seasoning. I was extremely disappointed to have had this experience as well to the price point that was not anywhere to the par that they were charging. Bottom line: the food and service left much to be Desired. Disappointing.
A beautiful restaurant but our order was taken wrong, both me and my wife's! Even though the food was excellent anyway.
I did want to be at the Rooftop so maybe Open Table should be clearer about how to book.
