This was one of the more disappointing meals I’ve had unfortunately.
The dessert was too sweet. The service was very careful and thoughtful
The wine was not very good, it really didn't taste good nor paired with the meal. The menu was mediocre at best. The Wagyu Beef would have been good if it wasn't completely covered in peppercorn(It would of been a good idea to state that in the menu).
The atmosphere and services were excellent. We had amazing servers. Very attentive.
I had breakfast. Simple, but excellent preparation and presentation. Great servers. Attentive. Not intrusive, but always kept a close eye out to pour additional coffee, etc., with no need to hunt down a server (which is often the case, even at high end restaurants).
Huge Disappointment. Had the 8 course tasting menu on 11/16/21 plus their “chef’s premium dish”: Pasta with white truffles. Pasta should have been hot and truffle shaved on top table side. It came room temp with truffle shaved in the kitchen. I’ve taken a course on truffle quality at the Truffle Festival in Alba, Italy. The truffles at Jean George ($35/gram) were tasteless, odorless, and set a new standard for the bottom of the scale. I mentioned it to the GM and he said “Well, we just got those.” I don’t think he’s ever been to Alba. There were other problems too numerous to mention. We shared a bottle and a glass of their most reasonable wines and it was $824 for two persons inc. tax and tip.
most awesome place and tasting in los angeles ever
Amazing food in a beautiful dining room with courteous staff. Small details for special occasions, wether noted via OpenTable or with restaurant staff, should be doubly confirmed prior to arrival.
The staff were great! He served well and gave me good wine!
I go to fine dining and Michelin place. I know what food is great.
As a foody, Food was ok… so I don’t come back. I’m sorry.
Amuse shouldn’t be included in 8 courses…
sea bass with butternut squash-tamarind emulsion was awful… sea bass was fishy and sour squash sauce doesn’t match.
Egg with Caviar was ok. The bread was too greasy…
Sashimi wasn’t good, it was ok.
Agnolottis was good but the white truffle was super tiny pieces. It should be sliced. But it was finely chopped…
Truffle pasta, I couldn’t taste truffle so much because it was tiny. +$65…
Wagyu tenderloin was good. It was soft! On the surface, there were too much pepper so I had to take off the part to taste beef.
Dessert plate which was my BD plate was too sweet. I couldn’t eat. So sad…
8 courses $180, well I’m sure there is better place than here.
High class, sophisticated dining - at its best. It's worth single penny. Food, ambiance, and staff were lovely.
Unbelievable dining experience !! Perfect dining with class. Server was amazing....the food off the charts....the ambiance was superb and the wine just amazing !! A great evening with perfection.
Best stake sauce ever
5 rated experience. Food was amazing. Service was amazing
Spectacular... my daughter had the best time. The service was impeccable!
Went in for a prix fixe
got bread and pickles
waited for 50 minutes until we've had enough and left.
Absolutely wonderful service and the food tasting experience was exquisite!
An incredible birthday celebration.
The food and the service were amazing. Definitely in my top 3 of tastings. The food was beautiful. Some dishes were delicate, some dishes were heartier and it was all sumptuous and delicious. Was it expensive? Of course, but a true culinary experience and so worth it for a special occasion.
Came for the 8 course tasting dinner for our anniversary and absolutely loved it. The "toasted yolk" was to die for. Food, service, atmosphere...EVERYTHING was exceptional. Looking forward to coming back.
We love the ambiance and service, the prix fixe menu is our favorite in the city . It changes monthly so it’s fun to go . we take out of town guests or go just the 2 of use for a nice evening out. My favorite wait staff always come over to say hello and we enjoy the relaxed yet luxe atmosphere
Kudos to everyone on the team that creates Jean-Georges Beverly Hills Tasting Experience. For this nerdy solo diner, the printed personalized menu was just one example of tailored hospitality that let me feel like I belong, even as a traveler.
Persian cucumbers pickled in a warming, bright vinaigrette prepared my palate for the egg toast caviar. Bravely, I followed Nick’s suggestion that it could be picked up and eaten like the grilled cheese sandwich that it incomparably transcends; I didn’t make a mess! Billecourt-Salmon JGV champagne (with a touch of extra sugar in the dosage) was the perfect accompaniment. The shrimp course is a delightful new adventure: atop truly silky cannellini beans arranged around a luxurious leek emulsion, each bite had its own intermezzo of exquisitely distinct chanterelles or leek—an understated, unfussy masterpiece. French Chardonnay is a delightfully fresh pairing. Then the Wagyu with both hibiscus mustard and hibiscus powder enabled this experimentalist to conduct a simple difference-mapping by comparing how the single-ingredient powder’s interaction with the beef contrasted with the exquisitely balanced condiment—fun gastronomic science. (I also tried both with the tiny potato, and the chive with the beef and each tiny tasty vegetable. Tempranillo was perfectly on point.
The panna cotta with rosemary sorbet, passito di Pantelleria, and mignardises each deserve their own essay—but this is already too wordy.
Beautiful dinner, from the personalized menu, to the wine selection and the amazing food. Worth it! And loved it.
Ok but you’re better off at Providence or another more traditional tasting menu. For both menus they count the amuse buse as a course which I’ve never seen ever. Same with the after desert snacks so just know that the 6 course is really a 4 and the 8 is really a 6.
The caviar egg is the standout, otherwise everything is just ho hum. Overcooked fish which at this price point really shouldn’t happen. The wine markup is higher than comparable restaurants and the cocktails are $26 which would be fine if they weren’t mediocre. The upside is the space is large so it’ll probably remain easy to get last minute. reservations.
Disappointing. I normally hate writing reviews but this was not what we expected. Our 6th dish was a can't dish.. Yes Candy..
Excellent service. Delicious 8 course menu. Highly recommend for special occasion.
Very expensive but worth every penny. a fabulous meal.
Amazing food. Each dish was unique in its own way, full of flavor. Definitely will be full and satisfied in the end.
2nd time and even more disappointing.
Like the first time, we had a good tasting menu and such a nice service in a beautiful setting. However, we would like to try a different tasting menu next time. Thanks.
Definitely not worth the price, overpriced and mediocre food. Advertised as Jean-George being on-site but he seemed to be paying attention to paid and/or known media and never even acknowledged. Very disappointing.
Great service and ambiance, food was OK not to the level We expected from a place like this.
The food was mediocre. Lots of odd temperatures on dishes….. and just not up to normal JG standards.
Beautiful setting. Excellent service. Very good dishes. Some excellent, some average. Would recommend for the experience.
Had a very special occasion with a very special woman and the Staff at JG of WA , helped make a a beautiful night a memory that will last forever ! The food was art made edible and the staff was amazing in every way! Amazing ! Certainly would recommend .
We are so happy to find this great tasting menu restaurant. Their tasting menu food was very good and the service was great too. We can’t wait to try each month’s tasting menu. Will visit again soon.
The location, decor, and ambience is exceptional. It was my first time at this location so I wasn’t aware with the seating. Prior to being sat I could hear a gentleman talking obnoxiously loud to his date and as bad luck would have it we were seated next to them. I tried to get a different table l, but sadly they didn’t move us. The rest of the time I felt like I was on a bad date with the couple next to us. The guy was trying to impress the wanna be actress by name dropping the whole time. When I saw the check was dropped off I was thrilled at thinking they would be leaving, but they say there for another hour just loudly talking. Beyond annoying.
We chose the 8-course meal. It was good, but the timing was off at times and one of my dishes was missing some of the components as my husband’s dish so they quickly took mine back to the kitchen to add the missing toppings. Overall, I would rate it as 4-star dining. Definitely room to grow and improve in terms of food, plating, and making sure everything thing leaves the kitchen 100%.
an amazing experience: breathtaking dishes delivered with elegant efficiency
Ambience is nice, but inferior food quality and over salty flavor. It is over-priced for the food quality provided.
Service was excellent from when we walked in. Food was underwhelming and there was always more to be desired.
