Great food, beautiful surroundings, friendly and informed service, great people watching, welcoming to our two kids... what more could you ask?
The wait staff & the host were extremely rude & unprofessional.
One of the most wonderful dining experiences in the Hamptons.
Amazing brunch... my favorite spot in the Hamptons! The lobster Benedict is to die for!
The food snd service is always good - we"ve never had a bad meal.
What an amazing and delightful dining experience. From the moment we entered this lovely space, we were treated as valued guests. The food was excellent as was the wine. This has become a favorite, and we hope to return often.
Food was great and service was amazing! Mark was the bartender and helped us fine a great wine. The salmon sushi was the best thing we had!
Meal was delicious and service was *, as to be expected. Only disappointing thing was the dessert! Bread pudding was very hard and cold in the middle. Good thing I was so happy with everything else so it didn't ruin my meal, was just unexpected.
Sometimes you get a restaurant that just knows how to hit all the right notes. Food, service, ambiance. Various sources prepared me for prices in the Hamptons to be jaw-dropping, but I thought J-G at Topping Rose House was very reasonably priced for the quality.
Was pleasantly surprised by the fresh, house-made sodas. Inventive and unexpected! It's so nice to have non-alcoholic options, espeically when you have to drive.
Great rustic chic atmosphere & buzzy vibe (bar gets crowded during peak dinner time). Very fresh delicious dishes...creamy buratta, tuna tartare, fantastic Parmesan crusted chicken (super tender, moist, & flavorful!)! Warm friendly service, especially one of the owners who manned the bar who was extremely hospitable! Also lovely, modern, casually elegant, very comfortable accommodations @ the hotel!
Topping Rose continues to be probably the best overall restaurant in the Hamptons. The food is simply excellent, creative and yet hearty and filling. Some of the same dishes are seen at The Mark and other Jean-Georges restaurants. Portions are not large by any means, but are ample. Prices, considering it is a Jean-Georges restaurant, are high but fair. Considering the mid-February time of the year, the ambience and crowd was mostly over 45, well heeled couples likely Hamptons homeowners and year-rounders. Service is adequate, with few if any mistakes. With $40+ entrees one would expect tablecloths and more substantial glassware and cutlery, but somehow the beachy, casual-chic table settings aren't off-putting. The key to Topping Rose is this: almost every good restaurant on the South Fork now has entrees in the $40+ range. Even restaurants that really are just local joints with uneven food and service. So, if you're going to pay that freight, why not go where you are assured of a near-perfect, internationally tested meal? Topping Rose has become our default place when we want to go big.
The meal was exquisite & the service exceptional. The room is intimate & lively. I can’t wait to get back here again.
Just a totally weird experience
We have been there a bunch of times and always loved it but this time they were confused about the menu, forgot many requests (and there weren’t very many), and just generally did not manage our experience
Perfect! The food & service were excellent. Absolutely an exceptional dining experience.
We reserved during restaurant week to take advantage of the special menu and pricing. We were surprised then to find out that our reservation at 7:45 PM was ineligible as it was after 7 PM. No where on the website was that indicated, nor was it in the promotional email from OpenTable. It may have been the restaurant's policy, but it certainly should have been made clear to someone booking through this site.
Loved the meal. Prepared and served beautifully
I frequent this restaurant often but the dinner I had Friday night was one of the best I have ever had there. They have one of the best bartenders too - Mike is the best!
Can't wait to go back!
Pretty place - been there before. Food was very flavorsome, but the entrees were hardly warm. Reco: Heat the plates! Ours were COLD, which accelerated the cooling process of the food. Service was very good.
Service was very good. Attentive servers but noise was deafening.
My daughter and I had a risotto starter that came out almost cold
Had to send it back.
My husband and I both had hake for main course. My first bite
Was a mouthful of bones.
The chocolate cake and ice cream desert were very good.
Will not return it’s our second visit.
It is a very expensive restaurant and I expected more.
Brunch was very good. The service was a bit inexperienced but very nice. The food is delicious so I
will definitely go back.
Incredible menu and food that lived up to Jean-Georges hype. Well done and worth the price.
Always meets with my expectations.
Perfect, the service was attentive without being intrusive, the suggestions about what was good on the menu was spot on and the overall ambience was great
We've always enjoyed our dinners at Topping Rose. This time, however, the noise level was so loud that none of us could hear the person next to us speak. Really unpleasant. And they've raised the prices! They were high before. Now the prices are ridiculous!
excellent food and service, most enjoyable as usual!!
Given the reputation of this restaurant, I was somewhat disappointed. The service was quite good, but the atmosphere was flat and dull. My cocktail was good but outrageously priced. The meal was just okay, and we both did not like the sauces on the scallops and lamb chops. There was nothing tempting on the dessert menu.
Good food but we had the table next to the service bar, which was a little loud and trafficy.
A lovely cozy environment with cool art. Great food in a nice location without being stuffy.
All points were excellent. Great food, cocktails, service, beautiful design.
One critique would be the music selection- we ate in a lovely room surrounded by 1976 pop radio hits...
That’s all I have to say.
Xo Jean Georges
Fantastic meal, great service!
Excellent dinner. Very indifferent and unprofessional service.
Went for New Year’s Eve, 2 couples, pre party reservation at 8:15 PM. Pouring rain from arrival to departure....but Arrived exactly at 8:15 and found our way through the back doors up to the hostess. Table wasn’t ready, asked to sit in the bar...single bartender, gentleman was overwhelmed, never got his attention. That was disappointing.
Sat at 830, packed dining room. Lots of happy regulars. Felt like all the members of The Bridge or Atlantic were there....
Nice but not overly friendly waiter. Chairs are so uncomfortable...straw chair , sits deep, hard to get comfy. Price fix menu, 4 course, 2 choices.
Salad or sashimi app...both good. Sea bass or ravioli starter, sea bass wins hands down, you could bottle that sauce. Lobster or Wagyu dinner....lobster was weak, steak was good but overdone....desserts were choc cake or macadamia terrine....both ok. None of the plates were wow, none were aesthetically pleasing...just clean food with creative sauces. Never asked if we wanted coffee or tea, served us our desserts, cleared them , handed us our check , and then asked to leave to allow next guy to sit....which was interesting because a table of 8 next to us, was well into their meal when we sat, but far from leaving when we left....anyway, not sure my guests noticed...but I did.
Hate when restaurants don’t offer coffee.....it just means they want to flip the table.
But outside of that....Overall the meal was very good, especially for NYE...... Lovely way to finish the year...
Some say best restaurant in the hamptons....I’d say if you want very good food and want to experience the Bridge scene....sure, except EMP Summer House blows it away with much more creative and enticing dishes.....
Lastly, the poor valets , they were getting soaked, and they could have used some help. No help with umbrellas....but it was a busy night I
I’d go back, but there are other options.
New Year’s Eve price fixed was excellent. Great choices for 4 course meal. Brought our own champagne and paid a $45.00 corking fee, which was a little high, but worth it. Will definitely make this venue for special occasions!
My beef was as good as it gets.
Everything else was great - but, that beef tenderloin was fabulous.
The wait staff was professional and friendly.
Excellent dinner. We enjoyed every dish we had.
Thank you for a wonderful Christmas supper! My sister and I really enjoyed every minute.
Lovely lunch and gracious staff. Great wine recommendations. I only wish the food menu had been more extensive. The choices were limited and not interesting. I’ll check the menu before returning because we would like to try dinner.
Lunch was nice but not memorable.
The brunch was very good, the service was excellent, the lemon ricotta pancakes were OUTSTANDING.
