Great seafood!! Great ambiance!! Great view!! Easy location to find
The view of the lake is awesome if you happen to get a table close enough to the window. The food was great. We will be going back next time we are in town!
It was a perfect evening. Our server Sierra was so attentive!
Excellent all around. Location and view are incredible. Food was great and the restaurant is beautiful.
Great restaurant...great food, great service, nice ambience!
Jake was outstanding and very professional and the view was breathtaking overlooking the lake. Really a “must do” in the Lake Ozark area and the food is as amazing as the view !
Marty was amazing! She went out of her way to make the birthday dinner so special! The food was Impeccable and the view was amazing!
Our server, Marty, was wonderful!
Rick made sure that our Mother's Day evening was extra special. The prime rib was exactly as I had requested and was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. Myrna assisted Rick this evening and did a great job of keeping our glasses filled and our table cleared.
J B Hooks was a wonderful place to be on Mother's Day. The food was excellent, as was the service provided by Rick. I look forward to going back.
Marty was the Best! The food was wonderful and Martyade the birthday dinner very special.
Great food, reservations worked well, awesome table with a view as requested.
Unfortunately our experience at this restaurant was far from what we had hoped. We did make reservations and were seated on time. I have to say the view when seated at window is just beautiful. You can see the lake for miles and that was definitely the highlight of our evening and not the food. We have eaten here before and we’re very pleased. But this visit did not compare at all. We ordered the stuffed mushrooms for appetizers which took quite some time to get. I would have expected these to be mouth watering but we were disappointed to report they were just “ok”. Definitely would not order again. Salads took quite some time to get but of the entire meal, my Wedge Salad was the best part of my meal, and my husband chose the Caesar which he said was good. Both of our entrees left little to be desired when at approximately 1 1/2 hrs was served. The filet was dry and over cooked for a restaurant of this caliper. And the fish entree, Hooks Milan, that I chose was very blah..... Given the exciting name, I expected it to be delectable. It was not. The owner stopped by and did appear sincerely upset with our experience. He mentioned they were very busy due to Mother’s Day and Prom. I would have thought they would have been better prepared. I do hope this was a fluke. We have had better food and timely service before but this was truly a Mother’s Day disappointment.
Great food and excellent service. Stuffed lobster tails were amazing to split between two people. We also enjoyed pork shank and scallops. Delicious! A+ view of sunset over the lake.
Great evening. Food was perfect and Rick was the best- explained all the dishes and encouraged us to try new and we were all pleased and sampled others. All made for a fantastic evening.
Marty did a great job making sure we were 100% satisfied with our meal and dining experience.
We had a wonderful lake view table!
Rick was our waiter and he is informative,
Fun, and goes above and beyond!
Meal was great! Steak medallions were terrific! Cauliflower an unusual treat was perfect!
Dinner was great. Beautiful view of the lake. We had appetizer of calamari. A little over cooked. Sauce was just ketchup which was a little disappointing. We both had drinks. The strawberry mojito was phenomenal. The blueberry mojito was good but not as good as the strawberry. I ordered the large filet medium which was definitely ice poked for medium. Paying $40 for steak it should be pretty accurate. Wife ordered grouper which was great. Creme brûlée for dessert which was good as well. Overall good experience.
Marty did a great job. Food was wonderful. There were some very loud people next to us, that was the only complaint.
If you're a foodie, you're probably going to starve at Lake of the Ozarks, where the best of the restaurants -- and this is surely one of them -- serve dishes out of the 1970s. Heavy on meat, potatoes and gravy. That said, everything at JB Hooks was excellent, including the oysters, onion soup, tornados, view, and service. It's an incredibly well run establishment.
Enjoyed a quiet meal at Hook's last night. A great way to enjoy an evening. I love the fish & chips (for me, baked potato) and any and trimmings. The mouth-watering quality of the menu continues to amaze me. We had great service from Rick Huntsman. I can see we'll be spending a good deal of the summer evenings at Hook's. Word of Advice: Make your reservations early.
We enjoyed a quiet Sunday dinner, with excellent service from Rick Huntsman, whom we always request. Cade assisted, keeping our glasses filled and our table cleared.
Had an amazing evening. The food was more than wonderful and the atmosphere was great. Our server, Jake, was extremely friendly, kind, and we'll knowledged on the menu items. We cannot wait to attend again for another meal.
Best meal on our extended weekend getaway! would recommend JB Hooks for any type of dinning!
Food was great as always. They accommodated our large party at a window per our request. Jake was fantastic per usual.
our server, Nancy, was the best. The grouper supreme was the best we have had. the side salad was huge with wonderful ingredients . we made reservations early so we got window table with spectacular view
Lovely evening with excellent food and superb service from Rick Huntsman. Stella, the general manager, came by our table to be sure all was well with us. All in all, an extra-special evening.
I recently returned to Hook's for another delicious meal. I wasn't disappointed. Fried Mahi was fantastic: flaky and moist, with the added bonus of hush puppies with a jalepena touch. Rick was our server and handled everything with professional competence despite being busy with several other tables.
Always exceptional service and food options. Went for my fiancé’s birthday and did not disappoint.
Holly our waitress, was very knowledgeable about the evening’s special and what type of wine to go with it. But... I had the filet mignon and my wife had the chicken. Both cooked to perfection!!
Definitely coming back!
Thanks Holly!! Great job!
A wonderful evening. Great service from friendly staff. My wife and I enjoyed a series of small plates including peel and eat shrimp, mussels, smoked trout, and oysters. All were very very good. The cocktails were also fantastic. We will be back soon.
Food was good but overpriced
It was very noisy
The best thing about our visit was our waitress Marty. She was quick to get what we needed to make our visit comfortable despite it being pretty busy.
We had a wonderful dining experience as usual. The food was excellent and the service provided by our waiter, Jake was outstanding. Also, you can’t beat the beautiful view. It is stunning. Finally, the owner, Bruce stopped by our table to check on our dining experience. That is a classy touch.
Had another great experience here.
We had an amazing experience here! Dinner was beyond fabulous and our waiter Maxwell was very knowledgeable and went above and beyond! We will be back. Hats off to the chef!!!
Nice location. Price of the meal was high given the quality. Side dish was not correct and the replacement rice dish was undercooked to the point of being inedible. Three different people asked about the meal and each was told of the problem but that was as far as it went. Okay to dine there once but would not return.
Our favorite restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks. Cocktails and seafood are always absolutely delicious. We always ask for Johnny Grist to be our waiter. He is outstanding. Love that the owner strolls through the place checking on his customers. 5 Stars
Absolutely wonderful place to dine! Whenever we get to the lake it’s a must go to place . Delicious!
Johnny Grist, our server, did a great job!
Great food, great view of lake. Johnny Grist was a great waiter and made the experience more enjoyable. Prices are on the expensive side, but it's great for special occasions.
