Disappointing from all points: took forever to get served all courses including the wine. Too much money for too little return.
Everything was fine except the food. The oysters Rockefeller were made with old oysters and the tuna poke was mostly rice with a horrible strong hot seasoning all over!!
Best sea food in town!!! Has a hip and energetic vibe, yet also classy. Great service!! Staff are knowledgeable, attentive, warm. The menu is diverse but focused on sea food. The menu is innovative and exciting, colors are vibrant, great presentation. Most importantly, it’s just plain delicious! Drink menu is also extensive. It’s a treat and a blast coming here.

Jax has really become a mixed bag for me. So many things are so good-Happy Hour value, delicious oysters, excellent service. However, the small portions are getting a bit ridiculous. We appreciate fine dining and don't expect huge portions, but when a 3 oz piece of halibut that you paid $35 for shows up on your plate, it makes me not want to return.

Food was excellent, especially the crab cake. However, service was minimal -- to be precise, in comparison to service at another Jax where I dine regularly. When I asked how spicy the gumbo was, the reply was: "it depends on your palette." Usually when I ask a question like this, the servers tell me how they describe it, or how the chef describes it, or offer to ask the chef. Nothing so helpful from this one -- she was unwilling to make any effort to help me understand beyond what was written on the menu. Otherwise service was adequate, and I did leave a standard tip, but only because I'm not a jerk, not because it was earned. Bottom line: I would return for the food, but hope to have someone else wait on me.

We dined on the roof top patio, which was really nice. The food is always good. Probably only complaint was the portion size on the halibut. It was pretty small for the price of $35. Looked like maybe 4 oz. My friend had to pay extra to get a bigger portion.

On a quiet Friday night we hoped to get dinner in a quick and easy manner. Upon arriving the place was practically empty. We ordered some drinks, and after they arrived we ordered an app and our entrees. The, the entrees arrived prior to the app. So we sent them back. After a while we saw our waitress who apologized for the error. Not a problem we said. The calamari came and it was delicious. We sat staring at empty plates when our entrees re-arrived. My husband (a previous longtime server), cleared the plates so the manager could set down our entrees. We knew right away there was a problem with the lamb chop, (special) they were way beyond medium rare-there wasn't anything remotely rare going on here. But the manager whisked away before my husband had a chance to say anything. He was hungry and thought maybe he could deal with the almost well-done chops. After a few bites, he new he couldn't.
My uniquely presented halibut was tasty, but one of its main components, the falafel were completely raw in the center. No check-back...we waited until I flagged someone down to request our waitress. She appeared and took away the falafel and my husband's overcooked lamb chops. A few minutes later she returned with the upsetting news that they were now out of lamb chops and what else would we like. To expedite the meal, gumbo was ordered. Still no falafel replacements. Finally the gumbo and falafel came. Still, though, they were raw in the center. The gumbo was just blah. It was very warm, there was little protein in it either. So disappointing.
The biggest concern for us was the utter lack of service going on. Besides the errors, there should have been multiple check-backs to make sure everything was alright. Sure, they comped the lamb chops, calamari, and gumbo. Fine, but the meal was miserable. We will definitely not return to Jax in Glendale. We will return to Jax in Lodo because we've never had a problem there.

The hostess was very unwelcoming, no smile, seemed irritated that we has requested a table instead of a hi-top. But after her rude welcome, our server was AMAZING and the food PERFECTION!!!! Our server gave us great suggestions, explained all the oysters varieties, and was attentive without being over bearing. Front of the house needs help, but the service and the food was top notch. We will definitely be back!

Rooftop patio has one of the best mountain views in the City of Denver. it is open seating and service can therefore be a bit spotty but we got lucky with some very hard working staff, great weather, good food and an incredible sunset.

Went on our Anniversary early before a concert. Sat on the rooftop and had Happy Hour drinks and food. It was perfect and service was awesome!

Since we often frequent the Denver Jax location in lower downtown and enjoy that restaurant, we were extremely disappointed in the Glendale location when we dined there Friday evening. The food was very substandard and the service was terrible. We ordered steamed crab that tasted old, where the meat had significantly shrunk in the shell (an indication of age) and didn't look or smell right. This was the replacement to a previous order that was served incorrectly (iced instead of streamed), so we didn't want to send it back again so we simply didn't eat it. Furthermore, the steamed clams didn't come with any broth, although it was served with spoons and it is normally included at the Denver location. Neither entry was served with butter or salt, which we had to ask for. The asparagus was also served cold. After our initial round of drinks, the waiter never came back to our table to fill our waters or ask if we wanted additional drinks. After waiting a significant period of time, we had to ask another server for our bill. Overall, it was a very poor experience to a restaurant chain we had previously always enjoyed.
MONDAY ALL DAY HAPPY HOUR...! If you don't want to spend a fortune and don't want to wait forever, definitely visit on a Monday evening! You will get great service and lots of delicious options at happy hour prices.

We really enjoyed our visit to Jax. The food was excellent and our server was outstanding. The scallops were really wonderful with heirloom cherry tomatoes and grilled vegetables.

The service was outstanding, the drinks were outstanding, the crabcake my wife I shared was outstanding. The only issue I had was with the Seared Diver Scallops dish that we both ordered for dinner. I have had this dish from Jax twice before and both times it was OUTSTANDING, but not this time. We came here for our Anniversary because I had talked about this dish for a awhile to my wife (we both LOVE Scallops), well this time was a complete let down. As anyone knows that has cooked scallops or just loves to eat them, seared is by far the best and getting a good sear on them is very important; well apparently the Chef that cooked ours did not know that. Out of the five we each had on our plate I had one with some sear on it, and the rest looked as though they were heated in the pan and then plated (no sear what so ever). I was disappointed to say the least. This is the only reason I was disappointed, but it did not ruin our night since we were celebrating 11 years of marriage, and we were out without our kids. A night without kids for the win!
For starters, congrats on 11 years! That's nothing to shake a stick at. Disappointing to hear that your evening was less than perfect due to our inability to properly cook a scallop. I arrived 20 minutes before my reservation, and was coldly told by the hostess, "Yeah, we won't seat you until 7:45." (The time of my reseration). That was fine with me; we got a drink at the bar and walked outside to wait. By 8:00, there was NO ONE waiting for a table, there were OPEN tables, and we still hadn't been seated. So we asked the hostess for status. She rudely abliged and walked us to an open table. After waiting 20 minutes for a server to bring us water and say hello, we finally just walked out.... I think maybe this restaurant just needs a better front staff. They seemed so disorganized. And the hostess preferred to stand around and look at her phone or gab with the other hostess rather than acknowlege patrons wanting a table...

The service was sooooo slow, we were there for an hour and 45 minutes before we got our food!!! Jax has been a favorite of ours for years, this was a rare experience but it was awful. Our server , after the third time we flagged him down, admitted it was his fault , and offered to comp “ an item or two” but didn’t. Not sure if we will go back.

So, I got $27 worth of crab legs and there was literally six. I felt like it was really light. Also, my butter was not completely melted.

We do our best to provide our great food at a value to our guests, but in some cases we are simply at the mercy of the market. That is where we are with crab, currently, as it is the most expensive it has ever been. We sat on the rooftop patio. It was wonderful. Joanna was our server. She suggested drinks and food. Great service and everyone was very friendly and professional. Made us feel like we were with friends that we had know forever. Dallas, from the raw bar came over and visited with us also. He explained the different types of oysters and suggested some for us to try. The food was delicious. I already returned there to eat with friends this week.

We dined on a Saturday night. We enjoyed the calamari appetizer and fried catfish entrees and bottle of wine. We also had the dessert (coconut ice cream and chocolate chip cookies). Good service.
