We love spending time and fun at this amazing spot. The food and people watching is the best!
Great food and atmosphere. Drinks were weak. Would order wine next time.
Javiers is great for small groups. I had a group of 13, and knew they do not split checks ahead of time. However, this became a huge issue once the bill came trying to figure out what everyone ordered and factoring in the tax/gratuity. Multiple people stated “I would have tipped them more had they just split the bill for us.” They accept 5 forms of payment, doesn’t make sense why they can’t just split the bill for you. Food for thought.
We always enjoy Javiers! It’s consistently excellent!
Our server seemed very standoffish and not so engaged with us compared to how she was engaging with other guest at other neighboring tables. Didn’t even bother to ask if there was any special occasion and I was really looking forward to having a great birthday dinner with my fiancé. The food was OK I have had better upscale Mexican food. Overall we did not enjoy it.
Absolutely beautiful restaurant. Great food. Look forward to a return visit
This is always a must go to when we are in San Diego!! Love Javier’s!!!
Amazing food and ambiance
It was my frost time there and i was celebrating my 31st birthday. Definitely worth it and our Server was Amazing she was on top of everything!!
Service was almost non-existent. Never were asked if we wanted a second round of drinks. Ran out of room on the table, nothing was taken away. When the bill arrived, I had to stand up because the table was so full of stuff in order to sign, etc.
The ambiance was amazing and the food was delicious!!
Was not allowed to sit inside which should have been clearly stated prior
Great ambiance and food
We had a really good dinner. The food seemed fresh and great flavors.
The noise level is too loud inside-we sat on that half in half out patio, so we can chat with our friends.
We’ll definitely go back!
Excelente Calidad de productos.
Fantastic! Our second time at this location, have been to the Las Vegas location as well. Staff is always friendly. Food is to die for! And of course the Margaritas, DELICIOUS!
Service was A plus
Couldn't seat us within an hour of our reservation... at 6PM on a week night.
Great restaurant !!!
Had an amazing night celebrating my boyfriend’s birthday! Server was very attentive THANK U! (:
Great ambiance, great food, great service
The place is beautiful and the food was great. The only downside was that 2 of our guests were late and they wouldn't let us in before all the table showed up.
Wonderful food and drinks, beautiful location. Fantastic service.
I have been to the ones in Newport and Irvine both wonderful, and La Jolla location did not disappoint
Food was very good. Music was quite loud. Waiters command of English was poor. Enjoyed my birthday and love the decor of the restaurant.
Everything was good. A little strange that they called to confirm our reservation in the morning, then the table was not ready when we arrived on time. With all the covid shields up, the noise levels are higher and weird echo’s.
Recently visited Javier's in La Jolla for the first time and can definitely say it will not be the last time. They have several other locations in Southern California that I will definitely be visiting in the near future. We were greeted when we first enter and surprisingly seated very quickly. When we arrived there was a fairly large crowd waiting but I did make reservations and definitely do advise making reservations ahead of time. My visit was on a Monday and the restaurant seem busier then some other restaurants are on a weekend. The restaurant was playing music which help set a vibe that just makes wanna stay eat and drink. The restaurant did take all necessary precautions in these challenging times that we are in these days. Overall you can not go wrong with this restaurant and recommend to anyone looking for an excellent experience.
Best Mexican restaurant in San Diego - highly recommend!
Great ambiance. Overpriced. Upsells. Noise level high. Worth one visit but not a keeper. Food is good 7/10. Can find better place with similar ambiance and better service and food.
food and service was good. it was extremely crowded. the hostesses were very rude and not very helpful. I love Javier's but this visit was very disappointing.
great service from Hailey, food pretty decent , ambience super cool, management a bit to slick for my taste. tried to charge 20% service anthen add tax to service, i confronted and asked to speak to manager, after 15 mins he declined and sent the waitress to deal with us, which she did with a smile and charm
Javier’s is a nice place to eat. And the food was just okay. Honestly I’d rather eat that same type of food with a view at Coasterra.
Service was outstanding and we enjoyed our meal.
Super nice !
Loved the vibe here. Classy and intimate. Great food!
It was suggested I visit the restaurant. The meal was delicious, service was prompt and excellent. I'll return soon.
Great food and everything came out very quick. Would come back
Always a perfect experience
Very good service & food quality. However the music they have is wayyyy to loud. We almost had to scream to have a conversation or to be able to hear the waitress. Other than the noise everything else was good.
Sadly our server dropped our credit card on the floor when going back to charge. Although it is very understandable that they were confused by the fact that we were splitting the meal and used the one remaining card for the charge. When we asked where the additional card was. Instead of saying I'm sorry I can't find the card they accused us of not putting a card in there. When everyone at our table confirmed that we all witnessed it go in, we were told they would look for it. We never saw them looking. We finally had to ask for a manager who came over and The waitress had said there was no card in there and accused us of not putting a card in there. They asked us to check our purses again. What was so strange was that they had already charged the full bill on the other credit card so they weren't missing out on money. iI was clear we were not running any kind of a scam?? Eventually one person in our party got up and started walking around looking for the card. Lo and behold another Server had found the card on the ground and handed it to an additional manager who told us they were going around asking who had lost it. Seriously??? When we talk to a general manager about how poorly we have been treated, there really was very little concern or care. They were crazy busy and our little table met very little to them!
