Jasper's - The Woodlands Ratings and Reviews
My group of 4 was SO! impressed with Jasper's.
We are two couples who have been around quite a
few restaurants in the Houston area, and just
picked out Jasper's without knowing anything
about your place.
Everything was so nice! Comfortable booth,
great service, we could hear each other!, and food
was truly exceptional!! We WILL be back!
Robert was our server and is very good at his job. We enjoyed our time there however felt that the pricing was too steep for what we received. My husband and I had each me, two glasses (if you can call them that...more like a swallow) of wine for ten each and he had beer for 7 each which was OK. Twenty for two very minute glasses of cheap wine was a bit over the edge. I'd have loved another but not for that pricing. We are people comfortable of course to buy what we wish but we also don't like to be foolish spenders. The filet mignon was small but very very good (cooked exactly as I asked for it) however my husband's steak for $41 wasn't the best...not bad but not the best. The house potato salad was good, not 'great' and the bread tray (which in my opinion should be served complimentary like most upscale restaurants offer instead of for a fee) was very good. It was my friend's birthday and our 30th anniversary so we received complimentary desserts to split with our spouses. All in all it was good. Will we go back?....only rarely due to the high pricing for what we get. Will we encourage anyone to not go there?...of course not!...we had a very enjoyable time and the food was good and the atmosphere great. For people that don't mind spending money frivolously it's fine. Robert was nice and knowledgeable but took on the two tables of 5 and 7 by us that kept him pretty busy. We still appreciated his mannerisms...professional and polite and happy to offer suggestions which we appreciated. We have no true regrets other than we feel that with tip and tax for what we got, $165 for the two of us (we had separate bill from our friends) was a bit much....thanks. BTW, it was our first time there, had always wanted to visit.
It’s tough to beat Jasper’s in The Woodlands. The indoor and outdoor bar area is great for happy hour or pre-dinner refreshments. The main dining area is well arranged with a fairly decent noise level. The food is always fantastic and the service is friendly and timely.
Once again delivered excellent service, food and drink. Great suggestions by a timely and informative waiter, who joined in with our enoyable time with family. The waiter adapted to the humour so well of all, while also being very considerate of our 1 year old, who was in awe of him every time he came over (from agreeing to his wine recommendations to enjoying some of the fries and rice we had with our meals).
It was my 70th Birthday and expected better. It has been a while since we ate there. We had to send back an appetizer, shrimp and grits, it smelled bad when it was put on the table. The shrimp was rancid, it took a while to get the smell out of our system. The booths were uncomfortable to get in and out of. The rest of the food was just average.
Had lunch with a friend. The roasted chicken was very moist, but the skin was covered in BBQ sauce and sticky; a bit too sweet. He had a flat bread that was not finished and was doughy. The food was average. The server was awesome though and fast with everything, including the check.
Hostess was not present upon arriving, showed up approximately 5 minutes later. The glass my soda was served in, had a substantial amount of lip stick on it. Ordered the Prosciutto Wrapped Shrimp 'N' Grits as an appetizer (has always been our favorite), the value has definitely gone down on this appetizer, only two small shrimp that were BARELY wrapped in prosciutto. The shrimp were good, but the grits and sauce were rather bland.
We both had a Caesar salad, they were good, just completely soaked in dressing which was a little overbearing.
Wife ordered a Margarita on the Rocks, it wasn't good. I ordered a Crown and Coke, it was good.
For dinner she ordered the Bone-In Cowboy Ribeye which was delicious (strangely she wasn't asked to cut into the center to confirm it was to her liking) with a side of Crawfish-Jambalaya Risotto. It was very flavorful! Server stated it wasn't spicy, but it really was quite spicy! T I ordered the Slow Smoked Baby Back Ribs with french fries. The ribs were good, nice and tender, falling off the bone. Sauce was a little lackluster.
We just were not blown away this visit like we have been in the past. The service nor the food, were what we remembered so fondly.
We made reservations so we could sit outside and enjoy a band. The reservation was ready and the table was perfect. The food was good, service awesome and we will be back for another meal and relaxing evening. Recommend it as a great place to hear the band on the patio.
Great place for a birthday dinner/date night. The food was outstanding, service was exceptional, and we enjoyed the experience immensely. Jasper's never fails to deliver and this dinner was no exception. The drinks were made perfectly and the fish special was amazing. Our server was on top of our every need and it was a perfectly enjoyable evening.
Everyone enjoyed brunch. They brought us a great assortment of desserts for my sister's birthday. They have a great lunch and brunch menu with variety for everyone. Trout special delicious. My husband likes the hamburger. My daughter had a nice eggs benedict. My sister said next time she wants to get the ribs. I want to try the crabcake benedict.
The location and professionalism is always good here. The food is always of good quality. Unfortunately i got a waitress who seemed to be consumed with just one table she was working, and me and others service level suffered from it. I will be back, but will ask for different waitress if i'm unlucky to get the one I had again.
