Jasper's - The Woodlands Ratings and Reviews
It had been a few years since I dined here and I was not disappointed. Absolutely one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a while, however, I was with an amazing woman! We will be back......next weekend! The salmon was the best she’s ever had! (I have to admit, it’s in the top 3 for me). This is a special place that will not disappoint
Took my hubby here for his BDay. Thought it was nice upscale, its not. Loud, drunk people, not romantic or cozy despite the fireplaces! The food: neither my husband or myself finished our food, taste just wasn't there. Not worth the money! Our appetizer was forgotten. I likely won't return. Great for young loud crowd!
Very cozy sitting near the fire. Quiet enough to carry on good conversation. Cocktails were outstanding, food was great, especially the shrimp and grits appetizer...could have made a meal out if that. Our server Sheri was fun, friendly and efficient. All in all a great evening out with friends.
We have always liked Jasper's and go for special occasions or if we have guests. Christmas night was a disaster! We arrived at 8:05 for an 8:15 reservation and were told to hurry and order our food as the kitchen closed at 9! So we went to the table and ordered drinks, salad, soup and entree all at the same time. The people who did not order from the bar got their drinks first.
Then came the entree and we had to ask where the soup and salads were! So they started to take back the entrees until we stopped them and said "just bring the soup and salad". The soup was the wrong soup. The salad ordered was a small wedge, the large wedge arrived. The one crab cake turned out to be two. Then we had to ask where the wine was!
The manager came over and his response was not appropriate. He did not even seem disturbed until the person who got the wrong soup asked not to be charged. But he did not adjust the wrong salad or the crab cake. By then we were disgusted, ruined Christmas dinner for the family! We won't go back any time soon, that is for sure.
Christmas Eve dinner for Family with adult children. Despite arriving early for our reservation ( and reducing our party size unexpectedly the day before) Jasper’s seated is quickly. Service and food was great, especially considering how busy the restaurant was.
It was a nice place. Our only complaint was the food quantities was very small for what you pay. We went to Chili’s restaurant afterwards and had to eat again because we didn’t get full. We are careful with what we eat, not overeating and always healthy. We were just disappointed. We won’t be going back.
The food was good, the parking is terrible, but I am positive it is because it is the holidays. We went with out good friends and were surprised there was nothing "complimentary" such as bread to nibble on while we waited for our food. We go to very high end eateries and most all of them serve at least bread or rolls while you are waiting. My wife ordered the house moscato wine and she said it was really bad so you might want to upgrade your house wines. The hostess was great!
Jasper's is our favorite place in The Woodlands, but this time the service was not so good. It, like the food, is usually outstanding. This was a rare off day (I hope) for the restaurant. We eat here all the time and have never had this kind of experience.
My group of 4 was SO! impressed with Jasper's.
We are two couples who have been around quite a
few restaurants in the Houston area, and just
picked out Jasper's without knowing anything
about your place.
Everything was so nice! Comfortable booth,
great service, we could hear each other!, and food
was truly exceptional!! We WILL be back!
Robert was our server and is very good at his job. We enjoyed our time there however felt that the pricing was too steep for what we received. My husband and I had each me, two glasses (if you can call them that...more like a swallow) of wine for ten each and he had beer for 7 each which was OK. Twenty for two very minute glasses of cheap wine was a bit over the edge. I'd have loved another but not for that pricing. We are people comfortable of course to buy what we wish but we also don't like to be foolish spenders. The filet mignon was small but very very good (cooked exactly as I asked for it) however my husband's steak for $41 wasn't the best...not bad but not the best. The house potato salad was good, not 'great' and the bread tray (which in my opinion should be served complimentary like most upscale restaurants offer instead of for a fee) was very good. It was my friend's birthday and our 30th anniversary so we received complimentary desserts to split with our spouses. All in all it was good. Will we go back?....only rarely due to the high pricing for what we get. Will we encourage anyone to not go there?...of course not!...we had a very enjoyable time and the food was good and the atmosphere great. For people that don't mind spending money frivolously it's fine. Robert was nice and knowledgeable but took on the two tables of 5 and 7 by us that kept him pretty busy. We still appreciated his mannerisms...professional and polite and happy to offer suggestions which we appreciated. We have no true regrets other than we feel that with tip and tax for what we got, $165 for the two of us (we had separate bill from our friends) was a bit much....thanks. BTW, it was our first time there, had always wanted to visit.
It’s tough to beat Jasper’s in The Woodlands. The indoor and outdoor bar area is great for happy hour or pre-dinner refreshments. The main dining area is well arranged with a fairly decent noise level. The food is always fantastic and the service is friendly and timely.
