Jasper's - Plano Ratings and Reviews
My wife and I went to Jaspers for Valentine’s Day. I didn’t realized that it was going to be a fixed menu or I would probably selected a different location. I had been told great things about Jaspers, but with all the great choices of food in the area and the food/service on this occasion, I would probably go somewhere else.
Celebrated friend's surprise birthday party brunch. Everyone all 7 of us had a wonderful experience from the excellent service to the fabulous food and cocktails.
Will definitely be back and will pass the word on as to our wonderful afternoon at Jasper's.
Thank you for everything. Judi Gugel
It was our first visit. Recommend valet right off the bat. The restaurant was very nice and open which gave it a very nice flow not stuffy. The staff was courteous and friendly. The calamari was very good as was the blackened swordfish. We didn’t try the blue cheese chips because half the table doesn’t like blue cheese. The signature pineapple martini was pretty good, I had two. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to others and would definitely come back.
The menu changed quite a bit, and not for the better. No more shrimp and grits. My wife got the "Crusted trout special", and it appeared to be more of fried trout. Due to Legacy West opening, the vibe was not as it has been in the past....very quiet! Mike took good care of us, but didn't know the specials, and had to check.
The food was really good. They had this potato chip blue cheese appetizer that sounded strange but was really delicious and addictive. You couldn't stop with one chip. The salmon was amazing along with the vegetables. This is just a really nice place to go for a business meal.
The service was impeccable. The food was excellent from the Blue Cheese Chips to all 4 of our entrees. My pork tenderloin was so tender I could almost cut it with a fork. The smoke flavor was perfect. Group also had fish, pizza and crab cakes. Everyone was thoroughly satisfied with their selections. Their varied menu appeals to everyone. Will definitely be going back.
My husband took me here for my birthday. I had the shrimp and scallops. The seafood was very good but the black rice was little spicy for me (I'm a lightweight). My husband had the brisket cheeseburger and said it was good. Didn't notice where the brisket part was, though. A little overpriced for a burger too. Then had the Creme Brulee. Very good. Ambiance was nice. Dark, not too noisy. Has separate sections which were nice so not just one open room. Our waiter was friendly and attentive.
I have been there several times all of which were much better than our last visit. Their service was very uncharacteristically poor. Out of some food items that part of the group wanted but not told about until well after our the orders had been placed. A similar situation with wine. Just a very disappointing evening!
Jasper's is our family's top restaurant. We celebrated my birthday with our sons this weekend and we had an outstanding time. The waiter was attentive, knowledgeable and gracious and made our evening even more special. The food and the cocktails were extraordinary as usual. We recommend Jasper's to all of our friends and family. Thank you Jasper's for making our family memories even better!
I had the salmon which tasted wonderful but there was only about 4 ounces of it. I asked the waitress what the portion size was and she said it was 7 ounces.....i weigh all my food to enter into my fitness pal app and there is no freakin way that salmon was 7 ounces even if the weight included the skin. My companion ordered the same thing and had a small portion size as well. Overall I would not recommend this place if your looking for a great value or trying to eat clean.... The menu is mostly carnivore and only 2 seafood selections
Have eaten there numerous times, but for NY Eve they overbooked dining room, was seating in bar area, service was slow, food was lukewarm if not cold when brought out. Set meal, the waiter should have been more attentive.
We love at lunch and other times we have gone, were a little disappointed.
Usually one of my favorites, Jasper’s on NYE was an enormous and expensive disappointment. Service was pleasant but inattentive; I asked for a wine list 3 times before it arrived, our water glasses often went empty, the servers looked flustered. I was not aware that NYE was a fixed menu. As one who does not eat meat or poultry, I was disappointed I could not order the salmon off the main menu. The Branzini on the menu was made with chorizo and I was told there were no substitutions allowed. I guess everything was pre-made which would explain the low quality. I ended up with a plate of veggies which wasn’t bad, but not what I expected from Jasper’s. My date had the short ribs and said it was average at best.
With so many options in Plano, I will likely not return to Jasper’s. Sigh.
I have not problem paying $300 for a nice meal however the meal at Jasper’s fell extremely short of being a $300 meal. While the steak had a good flavor the potatoes were just so so and the so called “red wine” reduction basically tasted like barbecue sauce with a splash of wine. The dessert was one of the driest “toffee pudding” and it was obvious I didn’t care for it but no one bothered to ask me why i wasn’t eating My dessert. I did hear other waitstaff asking other tables if they liked their food. All in all it’s a nice place but not a romantic $300 dinner date place. Definitely not worth the money and very noisy.
