About
so sad that they are closing. We will miss them always good food and service
Let's just say we aren't sorry they are closing. They changed the pre-theater menu so it's very small. Food was OK but nothing special and the desert, citron tart, was very disappointing The dinner was ridiculously expensive. Service was good, however. We never understood what the attraction was and are hoping for something better when the space re-opens
Positive. Sad to see it close😕
Was so excited about coming here especially since it is a SF institution that is sadly closing. Also have been a huge fan of Chef de Jardin and was so looking forward to trying her famous cuisine. Mixed experience. Dishes were good, mains much better than the appetizers. Wine was delish. Wish the waiter was a bit more helpful. Overall glad we got to go!
Sadly (since Saturday is their last day of service), this was one of my best meals at Jardiniere! Lamb Barbacoa was amazing!
The food was great! I would go back for the food only.
A sad ending to a great restaurant! Service slow, food not great, and $36 for a double martini seems like gouging. We will miss it, the best location in town for Opera, Symphony, and Ballet, but clearly the "heart" was gone form the place.
This was our “go to” restaurant for our family’s special occasions and we were heartbroken to learn of its closing on the 27th. This was an iconic jewel of a place and we will miss it. Best wishes to Traci in her future endeavors and also her wonderful staff for creating such a grand dining oasis.
My daughter and I celebrated Easter and bid farewell to Jardinaire. It was lovely, and bittersweet.
It's a lovely place, but our food was pretty awful. (And I mean just terrible).
Jardiniere and all of its excellent employees have been truly important to me over many years. We are so incredibly sad to see this wonderful institution close. We wish Traci and everybody at Jardiniere the very best in the future. Given the amazing job done at Jardiniere for 22 years, these folks will have no problem creating another fantastic dining experience. We will miss you.
Amazing! Jardiniere willl be missed...
Excellent!! Such a shame this gem will soon close its doors for good. Fortunate we were able to snag a reservation. If you have the chance to make it in before closing, you definitely won't be disappointed!
Very nice all around restaurant.
We are sorry to see this excellent dining spot closing. It has always been top notch. We've been dining here since they opened over 20 years ago.
Outrageously expensive for what was very mediocre food.
We hadn't been back here for quite a while because the food used to be soooo precious. A salad of two little tomatos and two pieces of lettuce. Portions were so small you would leave starving unless you ate three rolls. But this last visit the endive salad was sensational and huge. Enough for 2. The pasta dish was superb and abundant. The desert was exquisite and filling. It's expensive, but was excellent. But we won't be back. They're closing in two weeks for good.
An amazing institution. So sad to see it leave! Thanks for the memories.
Another amazing meal at Jardiniere. So so sad to see it close.
Great service. Sarah took great care of us.
Restaurant was highly recommended. Tagliatelle pasta with pork sugo was extremely salty, duck entre was mediocre, expensive wine upgrade by the sommelier to a fuller body wine was unremarkable, weak flavor, no lingering finish that you would anticipate from a 2010 French wine. Felt the dining experience was a waste of money. Beautiful restaurant. Would have been happier sitting at the bar and having a martini.
I can't believe it's closing, but what a great farewell dinner. Our server was fantastic. He knew the menu, offered suggestions and was attentive, but not overbearing. A beautiful space, this restaurant will be missed.
We were seated promptly, but it was a lengthy wait for our first course. We were disappointed that it was a prix fixe dinner as we would rather have had just an entree. I often have had an order and a half of scallops for my dinner, but that was not an option and $20 extra for scallops seems excessive. The second course came soon after the first. The dessert was served with the bill, as it was getting so late we would be late for the ballet. When the bill came it was incorrect, and we didn't have time to sort it out. One of our party was very upset by this and insisted we get it done before we left. This was done, but we were running to the opera house and barely got seated before the curtain went up. Our reservation was at 5:45 for a 7:30 curtain. This is too bad as Jardiniere has always been my favorite restaurant.
wonderful. So sorry to see it go..... a great dining establishment.
Sadly, the restaurant is closing. So it wouldn't be possible to recommend this restaurant.
The perfect restaurant - excellent food, service and ambiance! Also very conveniently located to many music events venues.
A bittersweet final visit to the soon-closing Jardiniere. We have enjoyed all of our times there!
I wanted to eat at Jardiniere one more time before they closed, but it was clear they are already in shutdown mode. Nothing was bad but the service and the food were both meh - not the way I wanted to remember it.
Always a special experience at Jardiniere, and sadly, we will miss this iconic restaurant. If you have a chance, definitely try to at least have a cocktail here before it closes. Since we dined before the ballet, we had the 2-course pre-fixed meal of scallops and cod. The meal was divine, light yet savory. Service was spot on; our server, David, was funny and personable yet professional. The staff here is exceptional and we wish all of them good luck and success in their future endeavors! Thank you for years of great food and service!
Great place to eat before walking down the street to see a play at Orpheum Theater
Tommy's joint is better the service was pretentious
So sad this place is closing - the food was beautiful and nuanced, the service was perfect.
Sad to see Jardiniere go. But it will always be such a beautiful place in my memory. And this dinner confirmed it's legacy of awesomeness!
Love everything about Jardiniere and am so sad it is closing. We've dined there several times over the years and we're looking forward to one last amazing meal in a couple of weeks.
It has been one our favorite spots for that special meal or a cocktail before going to the opera house. We’re so sad that it will be closing it’s doors soon.
Sorry it will be closing. It was a very pleasant dining experience.
My experience was memorable. Thank you Chef.
If you can go here before they close on 4.27.19 DO IT! you will have an experience you will never forget and for sure miss!! It is how a restaurant was suppose to be. Quintessential San Francisco. If you want to feel like a valued patron, go, if you want to feel great after eating a solid meal, go. They don't and won't make them like this in this country......it's is an end of an era......
Love the ambience and the food :( so sad that they are closing down
First time patrons with a lot of expectations, the restaurant didn’t disappoint us at all. Just sad that they are closing soon.
