Outstanding! And always is! The food is exceptional, delicious and creative - without being overly so!
Michael was our waiterperson - very kind and professional - observant of our timing too.
I truly love the message as well, "Immigrants helped to bring you your dinner tonight, etc." Very kind, insightful and thoughtful.

Wonderful food, and ambiance. Service was friendly but a little abrasive and intense, felt rushed and then he would not remember a drink order or when we asked he didn’t hear. He was friendly though

It was my friends birthday I invite her to experience a nice meal for her birthday.

Unfortunately we experienced a wird discrimination from our waiter, he began friendly but as soon as he ask us what kind a drink we wanted I asked for a suggestion of a red wine not to dry but also not a dessert wine he bring me two samples and he let me try them, but because we are going to star out meal with some clams my friend Christie suggested me to get a different time of drink that went better with the clams.

The waiter came back and ask me so witch one you like better?

I pointed to one of the red wines but my friend say to him but we are going to get something else, he look at me upset and say in a serious tone of voice he asked me again which of those two red wines I wanted? Totally ignoring my friend and I say to him I’m getting the one she mentioned and we order a plate of clams with it.

He walked away and returned with the clams and drinks, a few minutes passed by and I need it to ask him for another order of clams but at this point the waiter was passing by us with out even looking and avoiding eye contact, I say excuse me? And he keep on walking I had to wait for him to retur by two minutes later and I raced my arm to get he’s attention. He was not to happy but he stop ask for another order of clams he’s attitude towards us was making us uncomfortable.

At the time to order our meals we both order the stake dinner but my friend can’t eat carrots or onions weasl him if we can sub for mushrooms he say no he say if you want a different side he pointed to the menu he say you have to order separate.

I ask him for two minutes to look at the menu , he returned and say the chef can’t substitute any items he look upset at tha moment we ask a gentlemen that it was serving wine to go get a manager.

We explained to the manager the situation and how he make us feel all we wanted is a different vegetable.

They did give her a different veggies but not t

Love this place. Braised short rib could not have been more tender, in a delicious sauce. My wife was very happy with the striped bass. Gnocchi appetizer with truffle sauce was perfect. Nice atmosphere. I never notice the sound of other diners here, much less am distracted by it. Service is attentive, including getting us out before the performance we came to SF to enjoy.

One of my favorite restaurants in San Francisco.

Went to the restaurant before the ballet. Service was very attentive and they made sure we are out in time to arrive at the ballet in time. My wife and I each had a two course meal. I had the beef and she had the fish which were both excellent. We also both enjoyed that first course and we each ordered a different salad.
Would definitely recommend this restaurant especially when attending the ballet, Symphony and opera since it is only two blocks walking. Will definitely be returning back to this restaurant.

This time, we tried Jardiniere for pre-theatre, assuming food and service would be their best, given the limited menu and time period. The restaurant was full, but service was attentive. The pre-theatre menu offers 2 or 3 courses, with four options in each category. The three of us had four different things (2 courses each) and agreed the food was good. But neither the food nor service was exceptional, especially given the prices. Our waiter encouraged us to order oysters (which were fresh and served nicely), but our doing so rushed everything else, so that we had to run to make our curtain. The wine list is large and various. The bottle we ordered was marked up nearly 150%, which we thought excessive. The restaurant is pretty, but the noise level made conversation difficult. And there was a first in my fine dining experience; they served salted butter. All-in-all, our bottom line is, "too much for too little." I doubt we will be back.

Pre theater tasting menu somewhat limited. All was delicious and presented well. I personally don’t care for arugula and curly endive. Would be nice if one salad option had a little ‘softer lettuce’. Short ribs were so tender and tasty. Thanks.

My wife and I had the pre-theatre dinner on January 26. The two-course option was $52 per person. The salad portions were respectable. The entrees were very small. I left the restaurant feeling hungry. I don't recommend the pre-theatre menu.

Excellent as expected! Had to change seating due to last-minute inability of guests to attend, but still found perfect table for us--thank you! New menu for pre-Ballet not as restrictive as expected and was very tasty. Greeting and waitstaff excellent as always. My appreciation for the continued excellence of Jardiniere.

We love Jardiniere and have been coming here for a very long time, usually for our anniversary. We came with friends this time as a kind of late Christmas. Service was perfect, not too much and not ignored for long stretches of time and the plates were served to the right people without asking, which I regard as a mark of an exceptional restaurant. Food was great, as always and we really liked the specialty drinks.

Service is impeccable at every level!
Slightly disappointed at the duck entree- could not actually cut it with a knife because it was both undercooked and too sinewy. Did not send it back because did not want to embarrass fellow diners who also had the duck!
Beet salad was delicious. Apple tarte very very dry.
Fantastic wine and a superb cocktail list.
Wonderful service but food was just okay

we asked for Mccallum scotch - they did not have it - they said they were out the night before -
I would think a restaurant of this kind would not be without a call drink. they ordered something similar - which really wasn't all that good. our friend just drank it anyway.

I have allergies, and by trying to accommodate me they created a totally terrible dish with an overcooked fish swimming in a broccoli- cauliflower liquid . My husband had better luck.
The first course was fine, as was the espresso!

They must have been having a rough night, as my previous experiences had been positive. On this night, where we had set aside two hours for dinner before our show, the service was exceedingly slow. In fact, it was so bad, we had to ask multiple times about our order. Eventually, the food arrived with about 10 minutes for us to wolf down what should have been a very relaxing meal. And on top of that, one of the dishes (duck) was not well prepared--I haven't had to use so much force to cut into a piece of duck in my life! Very disappointing...and my companion was equally displeased. I'm just glad it wasn't a truly special occasion, just a night out to enjoy the City.
