This was my second experience dining at Japonessa. The sushi and sashimi were outstanding and the service gracious and attentive. Wonderful option for pre-symphony dining or anytime you’re downtown.

We had a fantastic dining experience at Japonessa Sushi Cocina in Seattle. Sitting at the sushi bar gave us a front-row seat to the action, and both the sushi chef and our waiter were incredibly attentive. The service was top-notch from start to finish. We sampled several of their signature rolls, a variety of nigiri, and the Hamachi Usu—all beautifully prepared and absolutely delicious. Highly recommend for anyone looking for quality sushi and great service in a lively, welcoming setting.

The sushi was fantastic. We very much enjoyed each and everything we ordered! The sake selection was superb as well. Our server was very helpful and good at her job!

Incredible sushi spot that is upscale, unique, fresh and memorable. Hot tip: get the calamari salad. It had the most incredible flavor ever! We had a fantastic, experienced server that checked on us several times and made excellent suggestions that made our experience unforgettable! Definitely go here if you haven’t yet!

OK, but definitely not great food. The service seemed fast and efficient initially but the waitress was horrible. I received an incorrect order and she made no apologies beyond acknowledging it was incorrect. When I did receive my correct order (less quickly and efficiently) , it was clearly different by sight - she never checked in and would have never had known. Would not recommend this restaurant ever - though with the correct orders the food was fine. The service needs work.

The sushi could have been excellent had they not added twists to the flavor. Cilantro on sushi is not a good combination, nor is a strawberry habanero sauce. Rolls weren’t as spicy as the spicy level indicated. Not bad, but not my favorite, we’ve definitely had better sushi.
