We had a great time! The food was amazing!
We had another excellent experience st jaleo. I’ve been going there for 20 years and always make it when I’m in DC. Great gin and tonic though pricy but the tapas make up for the drink cost. Highly recommended and I always want to support Jose Andres
Jaleo always had a good food. Real taste of Spain. But they redesigned their dining room to reduce the noise level. It made a lot of difference. Very pleasant and civilized dining experience. Great DC downtown option.
Always excellent! Fantastic staff! Food is amazing!
Drove all the way from Columbia MD to eat here (only about 30 or so min. drive) but still. It was so worth it!! Everything was delicious!!! Must try.
Waiter was slow and not super friendly. I would have loved to see more festive decor and a holiday cocktail
As always, Jaleo was great. My friend had not been there in a long time and he said he will be back soon. We had shrimp, spinach, sausage and beans and a couple of other tapas as well as flan. The flan is better than any in DC that I have had.
We thoroughly enjoyed the speci
I couldn't believe we got a 3 course meal for $20 for lunch - all in an hour! The food was delicious and we were already full before dessert arrived but we managed. And, we even got to star watch as Rob Reiner was sitting a table away!
Food was not before.
The tapas specials are always very good. We had the Sunday brunch special and it was outstanding.
Start to finish, a fantastic meal. Everything was amazing. My wife and I got the chef’s tasting and it was insanely good.
Our table was by the door. It was cold everytime the door opened.
The food is outstanding, and the Gin and Tonic selections were like nothing I'd ever tasted. I plan to go back on my next trip to DC, and may even make a day trip just to go here for dinner!
Superb, as always. Arrived early for our reservation on a Saturday night. Waited less than a minute for our table. Our quibble from a previous visit - no olive dish - fixed, and fixes with flair. Olives stuffed with Spanish anchovies. Wow!
This was our 4th time at Jaleo, this time before theater. We didn't do the pre-theater menu even though it is a great value. We wanted to try more dishes and we did. Probably too much! Couldn't finish the patatas bravas!
Next time we go, I'm going to convince my husband that we should order one of the tasting menus, just in case there's something we missed.
You can't go wrong at this restaurant any time of day. I highly recommend it.
usual good experience XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Wonderful food, knowledgeable servers.
Jaleo offers a great range of traditional -- and traditional with a twist -- tapas and large plates. The service was excellent: our waiter was attentive and recommended a wine that was a great match for what we ordered. Portions are larger than at some tapas restaurants, so well-suited to sharing.
After 25 years, better than ever! The food was delicious, enjoyed special cocktails from the sparkling wine festival. If you don’t like loud restaurants I would suggest going in early afternoon
LOVED this dinner - we did the tasting menu for the second time and it was simply amaazing!
Great spot for a big group. We got the Jaleo Experience tasting menu and it was the perfect amount of food to be absolutely stuffed but with enough of an appetite to try a little bit of everything.
Some dishes were great- traditional shrimp in spicy olive oil, olives with sardines & Orange, and the sautéed spinach. Other dishes were not. Surprisingly their Spanish tortilla was a flat flavorless wreck. My husband ordered potatoes in a bleu cheese sauce that I found inedible.
Nice selection of cocktails & wines in a lively atmosphere. Restaurant has taken pains to minimize noise and it works. We love tapas & spanish food in general but I don’t think we’d go back because of the mixed quality of dishes. We would try Andres’ other restaurants however.
Very good tapas. Good wine on the waiter's recommendation. A very pleasant prelude to a theater performance.
Jaleo is always a great, happy and delicious place to eat. Some tables are a little close together, so I felt our neighbors were listening accidentally to our entire conversation. I still had a great meal with a couple of accommodations made for dietary issues.
Nice place to eat.
Long time fans, first time diners. We had an exceptional dinner. Every dish was hot, uniquely flavorful, and enjoyable. Go for the sangria, Brussels sprouts, chorizo, gambas al ajillo, the rice pudding, the coffee, everything.
This was my long-coveted spot for this year's birthday celebration and it exceeded expectations!
Great dining experience!
Fabulous restaurant. Food , service impecable, easy location , all around wonderful
Always excellent, never disappoints. Creative and mighty tasty food! Great bread. Great sangria.
Best Spanish restaurant this side of the Atlantic, traditional flavours with a modern touch.
A must if you are in DC!!!
Great food and service. Best tapas in the area. The portions are too small for the price, and the wine is very overpriced.
We have dined at Jaleo many times over the years but had not been back in quite some time. Very happy to say it was every bit as good as I remembered!
Service was great and the tapas were excellent! We won't so long to go back again! So many tapas we need to try!
The food was great. The drinks were creative. The waiter was very helpful as was the rest of the staff. I liked the decor as well. The olive spheres were very good. The mushroom risotto was delicious. The oysters were very fresh and briny, served cold! The hangar steak was good. We also had the sea urchin and patatas bravas. Overall the meal was delicious. The rice pudding and the flan were the perfect finish! Jose has my vote for the Nobel Peace Prize!
Went to Jaleo for early dinner to celebrate our daughter's 21st birthday. Spent close to 2 hours enjoying a relaxed meal. Started with cocktails and the 3 cheese selection. Bread and oil brought to the table was delicious. The three of us shared four more plates and then were full which surprised us. Our server surprised us with a complimentary serving of flan with a candle in it which was very nice ;) Although the restaurant is loud, we were off to the side and really enjoyed our meal.
My mother’s absolute favorite place in DC.
The steak and mashed potatoes was to die for. They have an interesting item called a liquid olive that was fantastic. It's a taste explosion. The Moscow mules were the best I've had anywhere.
Excellent as always. Seated immediately, food flowed and the sangria was excellent. Ate in true tapas style and the varied delivery of the menu items lent to the experience. Will say that we had dessert, not or normal course and it was exceptional.
First visit to Jaleo, with out of town guest. Service was perfect not to much and not to little. Even though the taste varies greatly in our dining party, we all enjoyed our selections. I especially enjoyed our veggie dishes, even a veggie hater in our group enjoyed them. Wine list is extensive and though expensive by the glass, the pour was very generous. We were seated near the door, but we didn’t feel cold or uncomfortable.
