Perfect. Well run, excellent service, above and beyond hospitality. Love any place that is launched by Jose Andrés
Food and wine was amazing, service was impeccable (thank you, Kimberly!). And I will dine at Chef Andrés’ restaurants as often as I can to support the work he does in service to others.
Went for restaurant week so value was good- $35 for five courses including dessert. Portions are pretty generous. Food however was not great- nothing special and chicken was rubbery. Spinach with pine nuts was the best dish I tried. Service was okay- took a while for the server to ask for our order. One of the lights above our table kept flickering all night which was hard on our eyes and made the dinner less enjoyable.
Overall, probably would not return to Jaleo because prices outside of restaurant week would make this meal more expensive and the food was just okay. I was really excited for this meal so a bit of a bummer.
absolutely delicious - we waited almost 20 minutes for our table despite the reservation but the food was absolutely fantastic.
Most of the dishes we ordered were great. The Gin and Tonic oysters were tasteless for some reason. Didn't even have an oyster brine. The chicken with parsley and garlic was out of this world, as was the steak with blue cheese and mashed potatoes. Loved the bean salad! We were stuck into a corner which actually helped with the sound. Its a bit loud in the rest of the restaurant. Will definitely come again.
The two of us participated in the $35 fixed price special. The only issue was too much food. The tapas was wonderful but too much. Since we are from California and it was our last evening we had to just leave it.
I took my out-of-town friends here before a concert, and they were blown away! Kudos to our awesome server for putting up with our rowdy bunch. Jaleo never disappoints.
Great size portions for tapas. Food tasted delicious and service was timed pretty well.
Every. Single. Thing. Was. Amazing.
As a non-drinker it began with the option for craft sodas! The pineapple sage soda was amazing. We decided to go with the restaurant week menu and every item was just incredible. I cannot wait to return.
Amazing dinner where the food was unbelievable and had generous sizings for each tapa!
We had a great dinner at Jaleo. We ordered the chef's special Tapas dinner. We choose the $70 per person option. There were more courses than we could count. Each on as good or better than the last. The food was great and cocktails were excellent. Service was fast and efficient. The dinner was a lot of fun and a great way to get a broad sampling of the offerings.
I wanted to support Jose Andres for what he is doing to help the Federal workers (as well as Puerto Rico, etc.) It isn't hard to support him when the food is so good.
VIsiting the city and made a point to visit Jaleo! We dined here a few years ago and it was memorable. We ordered several plates to share and were not disappointed in any of them. The kitchen creates plates which are a treat for the tastebuds. The only knock I have for this visit was the waiter was too busy; we had to wait a very long time to order. The plates came out without delay, so I guess it was a staffing issue in the dining room.
Masterful waitress, fabulous menu. We didn't even know it was restaurant week. What a meal! Fantastic!
Everything we tried was a new dish to us. Great place to try new things! Ejoyed it all. Stand out dishes for me, were Scallops over butternut squash with pumkin seeds and the mushroom with garlic.
Great food. dining area is way to small. service was to good, serving courses to close together, felt rushed.
It was a busy Friday night and unfortunately the service suffered. We waited quite a while for the server to great us. We asked a couple of questions and he left without taking a drink order. When he finally came back we ordered three drinks. We waited a good 15 minutes for the drinks and when he finally brought them he only had two. Had to wait another 10 minutes for my drink. Same thing happened with a food item we ordered. Overall service was fair at best. The food and drinks were excellent.
The food was amazing and service outstanding. Great value for the restaurant week four course dinner!
Delicious! We took advantage of the Restaurant Week menu and had many tastes. So good, and a fun way to share a meal.
We went for restaurant week and some of the dishes were really good but some were misses. We liked the appetizers but our salmon tasted frozen and not very fresh. We went there for restaurant week and felt rushed as all the dishes basically came at the same time.
Always enjoy Jaleo and wanted to support Jose Andres’ restaurant for his current efforts to pitch in and help furloughed federal employees.
The food at Jaleo is consistently excellent. My favorite aspect of Jaleo is the atmosphere - it always feels like fun!
Great tapas for lunch during Restaurant Week. Everything was good, but we especially enjoyed the cauliflower, chicken croquettes, papas bravas, and flan. And we liked being able to support restaurant owner Jose Andres who has given so much to those in need through his World Central Kitchen.
I had a reservation and had to wait almost 45 minutes. Some of the food was cold. I have been a lot of times but only at the one in Bethesda; this was by far my worst experience. I will not go back to this location.
We are in love! We ordered the Restaurant Week menu everything was wow worthy. If I had to give anything an average Mark it would be the grilled pork. Everything else was amazing, the dates, onions, shrimp, spinach ensalada ruska, salmon, pork cannelloni, and chicken were particular stand outs. We also had the paella which was very tasty if a little on the salty side. The strawberry sorbet was like eating the ripest of strawberries! And the flan was rich, creamy, and utterly smooth.
Wonderful as usual. I have eaten at Jaleo a number of times over the years and it is consistently good food. It is fresh, tasty, and always satisfying. The service is good, the atmosphere is lively. Nothing but good things to say - so glad to have it as an option.
We went for restaurant week and they offered an amazing selection of tapas. We tried almost everything! Great deal, and each dish was delicious.
Wonderful food and service. It’s a must visit every time I am in DC.
Jaleo is always fun &awinner for going with a bunch of people to try many different foods.
Excellent food great service and a great value for restaurant week.
Fabuloso! The chicken and mushroom Paella was incredibly delicious!! My favorite dish. Great wine selection...and the best flan dessert ever!! Thank you to Jaleo chef and staff for another unforgettable dining experience!!
Fantastic food and staff
The food and wine was AMAZING, restaurant week special was a great deal! Service was very slow but given it was restaurant week I suppose it is expected. We really enjoyed this restaurant.
It was noisy and a bit too frenetic for a business meal. The food and service were good, but I’d not have a meal here where I wanted to talk to anyone.
Overpriced. Food generally good. Service fine. But $200+ for dinner of tapas for 2 persons is ridiculous. You get much better food — and more of it — for a fraction of the price in Spain. Another overrated and overpriced DC restaurant.
Fantastic food and an amazing atmosphere
We ate there before a recent CAPS game and food was good, and they were aware that we needed to be out by 6:45 for the start of the game and they were very accommodating. Food was unique and delicious, but their recommendation of 3-4 plates per person was over the top. Two plates per person would have sufficed. It was quite noisy, but we were able to converse with one another and be heard. Will return
Three days between 2 people was perfect. Order any fritter dish. The wines were superb. Server made a good call.
Excellent lunch choices. Same portions as dinner. Highly recommend.
I am from out of town but always eat here when I visit, and it has never disappointed me. I can depend on quality food and service every time. The flavors are amazing and the presentation artistic. I appreciate the volunteer work that Jose Andres gives back to the community as well!
