We were in town for a couple days. We are foodies and got the Jose's Way. The food was fantastic we were able to have a bit of everything. Our server was great, she knew what everything was and brought each course (about 10 or more of them) at a good pace. Definitely a destination.

This was my second visit to this location. We had an outstanding dining experience with our group of 7. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

I brought my boyfriend here for his birthday, and it was one of the best meals I have had in DC. There is so much variety in the menu and everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. Our wait staff was amazing and very attentive without being bothersome. Also, the price for the quality and quantity of food you get is really great.

Loved the items which had returned to the menu. Especially the cake and ice cream. Divine flavor.

Jose Andres has really upped his game at Jaleo. We've eaten at both his high-end Bazaar restaurant in Los Angeles and previously at Jaleo. Jaleo had always been very good, but now--while keeping its casual atmosphere--it has an extensive selection of dishes that rival the offerings at Bazaar. And this was just for lunch. You'd have to eat at Jaleo several times to get a good sampling of the many attractive menu items. There's also a three-course lunch option for just $20, which is quite a bargain. It's impressive how Jose Andres, who has other restaurants and enterprises such as hurricane relief, is able to maintain such high standards when he obviously can't be everywhere at once.

My sisters and I came here to celebrate my sister’s 21st birthday. We ordered too many tapas and enjoyed every one of them. The patatas bravas were a fave at the table and the artichokes, croquettes, and seafood were all amazing. Guillermo was very attentive and helpful and we were surprised to receive a flan for my sister’s birthday dessert. It was a special night. We would definitely come here again and would recommend it to others!

The meal and the service were both superb. The wine was great too. We had the tasting menu and every course was expertly prepared.

Not our first visit and definitely not our last. Jaleo continues to provide reliable well prepared and served tapas in a location adjacent to the Lansburgh Theater. So, it's great either before or after theater. Particularly noteworthy this time were the date and bacon fritters, duck breast with mushrooms and the flan. And as always who can resist shrimp and garlic.

Wonderful food. Fantastic olives stuffed with anchovy and spicy pepper, spicy chorizo in a potato chip wrapper, grilled to perfection calamari. Fabulous sautéed shrimp with beautiful garlic and oil, and a lovely apple fennel salad. The perfect amount of food, but we could have eaten much more. So many great choices!

My wife and I visited with our toddler and another couple, we had a 4:45pm dinner reservation on a Saturday. Food was fantastic. As were the drinks. And it came out to roughly $50-60 per adult (a little more than that), so decent value. Ordered all of the calamari/squid dishes but one, and they were all fantastic (especially the squid in its own ink). The specialty hanger steak was a hit, too. As were the bacon wrapped dates. Service left something to be desired -- hostess declined my request to be seated somewhere off to the side, or else somewhere other than literally in the middle of the restaurant, right behind the hostess station, where there is constant foot traffic and commotion--wasn't ideal for our toddler, I told her. She knew better than me, though--she was quick to quip back that she's topped that four-seat table many a time with no problem. Ok. Then, at no point over the next two hours did the wait staff realize that our son was eating food off of the table top or a page from his coloring notebook, and that we were missing a utensils for him. Even when I asked a busboy to bring him a plate and utensils, he said, "I'll bring that over right away" and never did. Waiter might have checked in once (toward the end) over the course of the entire meal.

Tapas at Jaleo are like a trip to Spain! Beautifully prepared, great service.
As added fun, they sat us at the fooseball table, and we got to play a few rounds.
A most jolly early dinner!

The service was a little disorganized, which is unusual for Jaleo in my experience - one of our orders was quite delayed and we had to ask for it twice. It is a noisy place, but in a happy way.

We had reservations for 8:45 pm and had to wait 20 minutes to be seated. The staff was nice. The food wasn't particularly memorable. We had several hors d'oeuvres and paella. The paella was underseasoned. The sangria was awesome. We were placed in a pretty awesome place in the restaurant.

Liquid olives are a must. Try and figure out how they do that! Had a fennel and apple salad with goat cheese and toasted pecans that was the best salad EVER. We've eaten at the DC and Las Vegas locations. Equally consistent.

4 of us spent 3 days in DC an date a lot of good food - Vietnamese, Thai, Laotian, Peruvian. This restaurant was the best - and they were all good! I highly recommend the rabbit confit. And, of course, the jamon. Would go back in a heart beat.

José Andrés is a genius. Everything and mean everything was prepared to sheer perfection. Such interesting tastes and choices. Beautifully presented but even more importantly delicious to the palate. I heard good things about Jaleo but was happy to agree and experience the recommendations. I do not think I have had better sangria anywhere. Jaleo is definitely a 'must' if dining in Washington, DC especially for Spanish food lovers. Went to Oymel (Mexican) too and loved it equally as well.

Very nice location and atmosphere. We were seated away from the entrance and bar at a window in the back. It had the feel of being on the sidewalk without having to deal with the bugs, heat or pedestrians walking by. Nice spot if you can get it. Food was tasty and filling.

Jaleo DC has great food and service! It’s fun to try lots of small plates (“tapas”) in a large group.

The restaurant redecorated and has lots of foosball tables covered with glass, which can be fun, especially for the young and the young at heart. Unfortunately, the foosball handles poke you in the tummy while you eat. Oh, well, it’s the price of mixing food and fun. That said, I might be the only one who misses Jaleo DC’s old, more elegant look.

My husband and I grabbed a taxi from our hotel for a 7:00 pm reservation and arrived 20 minutes early. Instead of pointing us to the bar, which was packed, they quickly got us to a table by the window. We ordered drinks (the G&Ts are awesome) and perused the menu for a bit. Everything sounded wonderful and we couldn’t agree on what to order so we decided to go with the tasting menu, along with a wine sips tasting which allowed us to try new wines with each serving. Luckily, we are fairly adventurous in dining and we were pleased with the tapas and wine that we were given. Our server was spot on in guiding us through the journey and we even had nearby tables asking for items that were placed in front of us. We would definitely go back to the DC location again, as well being open to trying their Vegas location when we travel there next time.

Jaleo continues to be one of the half-dozen restaurants that will tempt me into downtown D.C. It is a very busy place with excellent and personable waiters flying across the floor with varied plates of tapas, excellent wines, and tempting mixed and specialty drinks. We kept ordering tapas and never did get to the dessert menu, which I'm sure is spectacular. Parking is very easy (just around the block, with an exit/entrance half a block down from Jaleo's entrance). We took our friends from Santa Fe, NM, home of many 4 star restaurants, and no one left hungry or disappointed. Highly recommended.

Was a great place for lunch in between museums. We got a great variety of well-prepared tapas. The wine was appropriately priced, with a good selection. They dishes could have been spaced a little more leisurely, but we didn't feel like we were being rushed. The sherries by the glass were slightly overpriced, and the selection was so-so. This was a good experience to share with a friend.
