Chef Jose Andreas offers creative Spanish cuisine at reasonable prices. We prefer ordering several small plates and sharing. It was like dining in Spain at a tapas bar.
Thanks for finding a perfect corner for my lunch. The food was delicious and the service impeccable.
Jaleo is an all-time favorite. The small plates are delicious and there’s something for everyone. I always get the Espinacas Catalanas. The sangria (white or red) is a good accompaniment. The Rápido menu is perfect if you only have an hour for lunch. At $20 it’s a bargain. Generous portions for a small plate venue.
Great place! We love ordering several small plates and sharing. Calamari, rabbit, quail, cod fritters, all good. We actually try to go 2 nights in a roll when we can.
This restaurant always pleases. I have enjoyed authentic Spanish cuisine here many times and never been disappointed with the flavours or the service. Go for it!
Excellent menu, excellent food, excellent service! What more can I say!
Jaleo's is Jose Andres' flagship. It is the great combination of complex layers of flavors, variety, inventive cocktails, Spanish wines and a socially responsible chef. There is no better combination for my taste. it ranks at the top of my list in Washington.
Amazing ad always!
I had a reservation and I still had to wait 10 minutes to be seated. I mentioned that my party was there for a birthday and we received nothing special so that was disappointing but the food was delicious.
Amazing food, but service was slow but typical for fast-paced place like this. Extra attention to detail on reservations notes for birthday for my wife and a comp. dessert. Overall, great Spanish tapas
great dish and cocktail for late night dining, also atmosphere was gorgeous
Wonderful! Thank you for the complimentary appetizers to apologize for the 45 minute delay in seating (beyond our reservation time). As always, it’s worth the wait.
With 2 out of town guests, I had to take them to Jaleo. They wanted to see if it was as good as his reputation. We had a broad sampling of my regular choices and new items. Everything we great! They have become members of his fan club.
Wonderful food, excellent service. Thank you, Chef!
Delcicous food, great ambiance.
Great time at Jaleo, food was excellent, service was good . Overall I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Like being in Madrid!
Fantastic meal and superb service!
Jose’s way. Amazing. Almost too many courses but all were delicious and service was great.
Worked well for pre theater. Excellent selection of options. Can understand why it is always busy
Exceptional food and beverages in a unique and find environment.
Tiny portion sizes, difficult sharing, no help from wait staff in ordering and food comes out very irregularly. The sevice is like a factory, impersonal.
Excellent flavors. Great meal and service definitely on point. Jaleo has yet to disappoint!
Awesome everything: Jonathan (our sever), drinks, dinner. Great experience. My wife and I had a blast.
Inventive Spanish cuisine! We had the treating menu and were very pleased with our meal. Some dishes were more successful than other but overall very strong. Strongly recommended.
Best experience ever, our server Sandra was the best, she had the best recommendation full knowledge about the menu, friendly and over all very professional.
It was pretty nice
Very average and fairly deceiving due to some expectations after other experiences in Jose Andres restaurants. The food was all deep fried, very greasy and not up the level you would expect.
The food was fine, just not the traditional tapas we had expected. Service was great and the space was comfortable to enjoy a leisurely meal and conversation.
Usually order my favorites from full menu, but we both ordered from the 4 course special (only $20) that included a couple of my favorites and tried a couple of new things. Carrot soup was fabulous!
This was not my first visit to Jaleo - the food has been consistently delicious over the years. We had some serious issues on this visit, though.
Service was seriously lacking---beginning with the hostess who was blatantly rude to our guests who asked not to be seated next to the screaming babies (at a table where a toddler was currently touching and sneezing all over everything). Our guest asked if the table would be wiped down and sanitized and the hostess replied "why would we do that?". The crowd inside the restaurant on a Saturday night was a mixture of drunken bachelorette parties and screaming babies.
Our server (and kitchen staff) was not attentive to dietary restrictions/allergies. We ordered the endives with no almonds due to a nut allergy -- it came covered in almonds, so we sent it back. We also had one of our guests who had a shellfish allergy have a reaction due to cross contamination.
Perfect spot to go after theatre matinee!
Very energetic atmosphere--it was a hoppin' place. Crowded on a Saturday night, but not too crowded. Not too loud that you couldn't carry on a conversation at the table. Good tapas menu with very creative food. Good service. Overall, a nice meal in a nice atmosphere, but relatively expensive price-wise.
We had been looking forward to jaleo after. 10 yr absence. The food was great. Our server got oversat or had too many tables. We were forgotten. For this price I shouldn’t have had to work to get a second drink. Overall disappointing.
The tasting menu was more like a full 8 course meal complete with full size dessert for two. We left completely stuffed. Unfortunately the items on the tasting menu weren’t our favorite. We would come back again however and order something else.
I am told that Jaleo meas fuss, commotion and chaos and it is. It is the excitement that Jose himself emanates. But the spanish like food and service is very good. We took our 2 year old granddaughter to dinner and she was fascinated for an hour and a half and that was good. She also loved the food and the servers.
Really nice place and people. Not to mention outstanding food!
Nice vibe - really liked the interesting decor. Outstanding cocktails, gracious attentive service, and excellent tapas! Don't miss the duck offering. It all made for a very pleasant dinner.
Not the first time but we keep going back for special occasions.
