   Went for brunch and got the Jaleo experience. Lots of food and courses, very tasty stuff. The service was great and as we had an early reservation, were seated immediately and able to take our time enjoying our food. Would 100% come back

   Absolutely love Jose Andres and have wanted to go to Jaleo in Washington DC ( we are Southern Californians) for many moons. Just made a ‘day of’ reservation while traveling for business and the hostess was very gracious to accommodate us early. So looking forward to the paella. Wrong chef on duty on a Tuesday? Was disappointed with a paella that was mushy and lacking in the abundance of flavors that should have been. No ‘crunch’ in the special order paella when served. The menu was broad and interesting although due to time limitations we chose in limited fashion, The sangria was good of course, and made us feel great!

   Was asked if I was going to the hockey game and said no., I was attending the theatre. Seated at worst possible location at Jaleo and felt like it was because I wasn’t going to the hockey game.

   Food was excellent. Service slightly off- courses were not cleared in timely manner. Would prefer clean plates with each course or at least offered. Server was knowledgeable and made recommendations but just not as attentive as we would prefer.

    Jaleo DC has been our "go-to" for weekend lunch for years, however, this time was a major disappointment. The food was not even close to the quality we have experienced in the past. We selected the "brunch tasting experience" this visit and based on the quality of that offering, we would not recommend it. Order off the "Main" menu.

    Delicious tapas options. Portions just right for two people. One order of the fish chowder was enough for two women. I so appreciate that Jaleo always comes through when I mention the occasion is a birthday.

    Tapas are conventional except for much more expensive than if you went to a normal tapas bar. The tables are very tightly packed. Poor servers have to carry large trays over their heads. Very loud on a Saturday night, but seems right for the space.

    All Jose Andres properties are top shelf and Jaleo, that is about to its 30th anniversary is no exception. It's not as trendy as it used to be but that hasn't hurt the quality of anything - all remains top shelf, even when finding great staff seems quixotic for most places.

    It's the guy. Jose Andres. Pricy, yes. Delectably approachable food - absolutely. I LOVE Spain. I go as often as I can afford. I eat croquetas. Lots of them. I eat piquillos (I'd bathe with them). Their croquetas are so tapas-bar worthy its not even funny. Crunchy and creamy - oh so good. Those cheese stuffed piquillos? A thing of beauty. With a Txakolina. Yes. Zetas. Con un huevo? Naughty. Beautify and simple food with beautiful and welcoming people. It's the big guy's house. And I was happy to be his guest!

    I am Spanish and always had good food at Jaleo. This time we went for the tasting menu and honestly half of the plates were not even Spanish and were not very good. Super noisy and super expensive

    We enjoyed Jaleo very much but I must admit I was a bit disappointed. I am a huge fan of Jose Andres and wanted Jaleo to be one of the best dining experiences I could have but frankly, it wasn't. It was very good. The service was very friendly and attentive. It's a very nice restaurant but the food was frankly just good to maybe very good. I've had similar dishes at other Spanish restaurants that do not have quite the notoriety and praise as Jaleo that were far better than what was served at Jaleo. I will try his other DC restaurants when I return but doubt I will go back to Jaleo. Again it was good but not outstanding as I was hoping it would be.

    My sister in law birthday, she was in the mood for paella. And what a perfectly occasion to go to Jaleo, my favorite paella is of course Jose Andres Paella. Along with squid and octopus some olives, cava, pan con chocolate and flan, jaleo café! Perfect Sunday after a walk along the mall on a sunny day, finalize with Art at the National art institute Thank you Jaleo team for such delicious food and service. Kind regards Yosette

    Outstanding staff. Having worked in restaurants, I always defer to people carrying precious cargo even if I’m a patron. These folks were carrying enormous trays in tight spaces and would still insist I go first when passing through the restaurant. Lovely people, very professionals. I would definitely go back and try more food. There are so many items to pick from and you won’t leave hungry.
