We did the Jaleo experience tasting menu for brunch. It was fantastic. Definitely felt like we got a lot of high quality, delicious food for the price. And the service was excellent.
Awesome! Great food & service!
We went on Valentine’s Day and although it was crowded, everything was still perfect. Food came very quickly and was very good and presented nicely. Good price as well. Food was great !
Outstanding! Jose never disappoints and the food and drink was amazing as always!! Delicious dishes and the service was friendly and impeccable! Great evening!
Wow. Loved it so much I bought the cookbook.
We had the pre-theatre menu. The service easily accommodated our request. The menu choices were most pleasing and all the food was delicious, as it usually is at Jaleo DC
We went for the truffles and were disappointed. All of the food seemed pre-prepared and the truffles had no flavor. Having gone to Zaytinya last year for this, we were disappointed. Do not recommend.
Great food with wide variety of selections. Excellent for vegetarians
I found Jaleo's a perfect place for 3 or 4 in a group, so each can order three items and have a very nice variety and be close enough for easy conversation. Its also nice that we had a very helpful waiter that had very good suggestions.
We have reservations but showed up early and ended up getting seats at the bar. The restaurant was already hopping at 5pm on a Saturday. The bartender Jose was attentive and have us excellent suggestions as to which tapas to try. We ordered 6 different tapas and they were all fantastic! We will be repeat diners for sure!
My colleague and I had lots of fun experiencing the Jose’s Way tasting menu. Sergio was a wonderful waiter and very patient with our questions. The atmosphere was sophisticated but welcoming. The restaurant was full but not too noisy, we could speak to each other without raising our voices. The overall experience was an adventurous and festive one! A perfect treat for DC visitors.
always a great pre-theater dinner. Service was perfect..Food was fantastic. It was Truffle Week, so we decided to partake...Yummy!!!
Delicious food and wonderful service! The small plates are very generous. We love eating here and always bring friends who are glad we did!
I recommend the Tasting menu. One of the Best meals of my life.
Very nice environment. Food is “Tapas” style so very small and bit over priced. Need to order 2-3 things to be full
We wanted small plates, this was close to our hotel, and we like and are very familiar with Spanish food so it seemed like a good choice. The garlic shrimp were very good, the croquetas not so much, neither was the Spanish omelet. The cheeses were served cold and hard. The drinks were good and so was the service except that they tried the usual bit of trying to give us the worse table even though there were plenty of other tables available. On the opposite side of the street, also by Chef Jose Andres, Oyamel Mexican was wonderful.
I’d heard such good reviews and was excited about trying this out. First of all the food was good. Chicken croquetas were the best. The biggest disappointment was the service. Our waitress missed two of our orders, was not good on explaining dishes, and the servers said nothing to explain the dishes as they were being served. Probably would not go here again.
Wonderful food and excellent service; would gladly return.
Great for groups, Jaleo never disappoints. A wonderful selection of tapas and tasty sangria...you just can't go wrong here.
The staff was great, the food, not so much. But the owner, Andre is the best guy ever. So there's that!
Our party of four tried about 10 different items for dinner on Saturday night. We loved them all and were quite full after 8 dishes, fyi. We got two orders of the fried bacon wrapped dates and were glad we did. Gobbled all of them up. Service was excellent in that they delivered 3 or 4 things a couple different times so we always had a few things to try and share. Two of us had standard margaritas and they were excellent!
The food was fabulous and the wine list was excellent. The service was also fantastic. I can't wait to come back to DC and visit Jaleo again!
I took five executive couples to Jaleo DC for dinner prior to theater next door at STC. Fantastic! We simply ordered the basic taster menu for all. I’m glad we started dinner at 5:45. Wonderful food kept coming and we wrapped dessert at 7:40 in perfect time for moving next door for show. Everyone had a wonderful time and had particular plates about which they raved. Beautiful thing about tapas: we enjoyed about 20 different delightful dishes, yet didn’t feel stuffed.
The waiter Faustino was really great helping us make decisions about what to order. Everything we had was far above being really good! This was one of the best meals we have had!
Yes, for its location if you are in the area for a play or just visiting.
Jaleo is always a good experience from start to finish. From the moment you walk in the door, the drinks, food, and service are excellent.
Our waitress Alexandra was superb. She helped us lay out a great menu, a most enjoyable evening.
Had the beet gazpacho and the presentation was great for me, but when my friend’s was served by a different server, it was poorly managed. Usually the staff are great, but there was the exception. As expected, the food was delicious.
Overall, good food; noise level was high due to sporting event in the area that night.
Great waiter and food.
I've always enjoyed Jaleo and it's sister restaurants. It was busy the night we went, mid-evening on a Tuesday, but we were seated quickly due to our reservation. Sadly, the tapas orders did take some time to come out and two were missing. We weren't charged for them, but they did not make it to the table. Also, the sangria was sub-par as compared to the usual. Not sure why the less than normal service, but maybe it was just an off night.
The service very good, both knowledgeable and personable despite a very busy night. Food was great as always.
Wonderful place for a special birthday dinner - Asked the waiter to simply bring us small plates until we were full. An exciting way to celebrate and uniformly excellent choices. Waiter was helpful and informed. A great evening.
Very nice. Would go again.
I was thrilled to be at Jaleo for Restaurant Week! My sister and I enjoyed the ambiance, the sangria, and all the small plates that we ordered. Everything was delicious! I have no complaints and can't wait to go back!!
Never disappointed - always nice and good foods and desserts too
