Went twice in past 10 days. 2 different paellas, both outstanding. Sides all excellent and great albarino wines. $50-75/person, great value great service and incredible foods.
We had an amazing experience and would recommend the Jaleo Experience tasting menu. Top notch service and well paced dishes had us excited for what would come next.
Would highly recommend the Jaleo Experience!! Very adaptable to accommodate allergies.
Visiting from out of town
Great food; super value for lunch; nice atmosphere; staff are professional but their attention becomes less and less throughout the meal so that their promise of a 60 min lunch becomes 89 min.
Missed my prey hater reservation and had to sit at bar. Was still great as always!
Jaleo was, as always, a wonderful time out in DC. We brought our Spanish exchange students to have dinner here and they pronounced it authentic. I, on the other hand, pronounced it delicious. I had the small tasting menu and had to ask them stop bringing more food! They were able to change my mind with chocolate mousse ;)
Good food and fun atmosphere
Amazing food and excellent wine pairings. Great spot for anything from a date to a business dinner. Don’t miss it!
After museum dinner, quiet corner found, noise diminished.
The food was amazing although some of it just wasn’t our taste. I wish our server would have been either more knowledgeable about the dishes or have done a better job describing them. Three out of the five plates we received weren’t best suited for us merely because of the misinterpretation. Not to say they weren’t good just if we had known we wouldn’t have ordered them and opted for something else. The two dishes that did suit us were outstanding! I would probably even go to the lengths to say that they were some of the best things I’ve ever eaten! We will definitely return and truly recommend Jaleo. It is absolutely a MUST!
Fabulous service and food at brunch Sunday. It was a nice day to sit outside...only wish more DC restaurants had outdoor seating a little further off the street.
Our server was not good. Put a damper on the evening. Hovered when we made clear we wanted more time and then he didn’t get the order right. Was too often over the shoulder pouring our sangria even when our glasses were almost full. With the wrong order he tried to explain it away instead of owning his mistake. The food was good though. The hanger streak was yummy, the pork sausage with beans very well done and we enjoyed most of our other tapas.
Best food ever. Everything is so tasty and delicious. Favorite item was the stuffed peppers with goat cheese.
The food was incredible. Our table of six shared everything, there wasn’t a dish that was not enjoyed. We were overwhelmed with all the options on the menu. Our server suggested several items from each category. The six of us could not decide. We asked that he pick his favorites from the menu and just bring them to the table. Everything was excellent. We left extremely satisfied.
Tapas means small plates so we weren’t sure how many items to order to be full. Therefore, we opted for the Chef’s special which gives you samples of 15 different items on the menu. It was the best for the value and we got to try SO many things, all of which were delicious, and we were stuffed by the end. Highly recommend!
It was really cool
This was a once every few years meal for us. The service was excellent, the food was delicious, but also challenging and interesting and intelligent. We did the tasting menu and enjoyed every course, even the ones that we probably wouldn't order again. Everything we tried, we were pleased to have experienced. There were a few things we would never have ordered on our own but we will dream about until we can try them again. We might drive to DC just for the fig jam and cheese cones and the grapefruit dessert. If you are like us and love culinary experiences but have to carefully choose, we suggest you consider Jaleo DC.
Lively ambiance fabulous food. Gorgeous decor in bistro style. Absolute winner.
Excellent tapas menu- shareable plates. Server explained each dish and made great recommendations!
The scallops were amazing as was the shrimp dish. However the cod cakes were high sodium and the trout was mediocre. The service and ambience was good. It is still one of my favorite restaurants.
A bit disappointed by dishes. Especially b/c we ate at American Eats the previous night and absolutely LOVED it! (Head there instead). Flavors were not consistent - some were good (Spanish tuna with tomatoes, garlic shrimp, tomato bread)....and some were bland (octopus, chicken croquets, Serrano ham and Manchego cheese sandwich, hanger steak). Service was poor. We finished our drinks and we were not asked for another. She obviously did not want to be there, nor wanted us there. Couldn’t get out fast enough. Go to American Eats instead — you’ll be welcomed and have great food!
La presentación y sabor de la comida muy buena, todo excelente, lo recomiendo ampliamente.
Not even close to the one in Vegas .. but considering that food options in DC are what they are an OK option
The food was awesome and service very good and quick. The décor is a little dated (at least compared with the new Jaleo restaurant in Orlando. My only pet peeve is that I indicated in the reservation that the purpose of the dinner was a birthday, but when we ordered the chocolate mouse cake desert, no candle was included.
We liked the ham and cheese dishes. But we were not fond of the octopus. The people faces on the bathroom floor was a little off putting. Most of the patrons spoke Spanish.
The menu Jaleo’s experience is great, with some rioja, you will enjoy your meal, sure!
We had a great time. My Dad was visiting from Ohio. He enjoyed every dish as did everyone else! Thank you for making our dinner outing special.
Me and my friends had a lovely time here. I wouldn’t do a big celebration with adults here again. Awesome, and family friendly! A great way to introduce your kids to tapas
The dishes were a decent size for tapas. Everything was delicious. Our server wasn't the best and everyone in our section felt the same way. The restaurant was good and a definite recommend.
Good food and good service. A little but pricey for the size of the plates but the quality was very good so I would definitely come back!
The food at Jaleo is outstanding. The two of us (pretty big eaters) shared six small plates and a dessert.
We also had the best gin and tonic we have ever tasted and a flight of 3 glasses (small pours) of white wine with one of the best Spanish wines we have ever tasted. . Everything was delicious and the flan was the perfect ending to a delicious meal. This is excellent food served in a casual and lively environment.
Food was amazing! We had the tomato bread, Iberian ham, mixed croquettes, patatas bravas, and the steak with blue cheese. Everything was delicious but if I had to skip something it would be the croquettes. Potatoes were a little salty. Steak is a must!!! Holy moly it was delicious. My husband ordered both the red sangria and the cava sangria - he liked the cava better. I had a sip of both and prefer the red so depends on your taste. Least favorite part of the whole evening - the tables were so close together! I felt like we were having dinner with the group next to us. Could not comfortably have a private conversation. Our server was good. I wouldn’t say I was overly impressed but I wasn’t annoyed about anything service related. One small negative- we originally wanted to order the tomatoes bread that had ham on top, but we were told they were out of the bread it came on so we had to order the tomato bread and ham separately. Doesn’t sound like a big deal and it was fine.... but it was unfortunately a huge price difference! $18 for the one dish vs $10 for the bread and $25 for the ham - $35 total compared to the $18. All in all, a solid and delicious meal.
They put as at the worst table in the restaurant that hardly felt any AC on Labor Day weekend. Hot. When asking to move it was uncomfortable and the front host staff was rude to my wife. Food and server were great after.
They should really get rid of the table that hides behind a wall in the corner of a restaurant where you can’t see anyone else.
Tasting menu was excellent, food came out in a timely fashion. Service from kitchen was great, but waiter could have been more attentive.
While the food was good, we were seated to the very back of the restaurant near the kitchen and we didn't get the same ambience we would have gotten being closer to the front or middle part. The restaurant was not that busy when we arrived but we did not get the best seating.
Seemed to me that several dishes had to much olive oil.
Amazing food! Great service! We started with the tomato sauce on crusty bread and Manchego. It was the perfect warm up for the delicious paella with chicken and mushrooms, and two veggie dishes, the spinach and cauliflower.
