Love this place and everyone was fantastic, especially our waiter, Ricardo (sp?). Made my birthday dinner with my mom a great respite from the mayhem of 2020. The food was delicious, as always! Thank you again!

Seems counter intuitive but the sidewalk patio area was very quiet. Food, as always, was outstanding. The fixed price "Classico Menu" was genuine value for money with selections consisting of Jaleo's "greatest hits"

We went to Jaléo by José Andrée to celebrate a birthday, for the experience, & to support José Andrée since he does so.much good in the world. The ambience was chic-moderne in yellow-red-orange hued decor, with music from Spain & West Africa, and a very charming wait staff--all A+. The tapas that we selected included gambas al skills, berejenas a la malagueña, and crisis has we pollo--all delicately prepared and earning A+. Although the paella de banda gambas was less inspiring, we added chicken to the shrimp & calamares. We would have preferred a mixed seafood paella with shrimp, mussels, calamares, chicken, peas, and red peppers, cooked with long-grain rice and saffron. When paired with sangria, this truly evokes the Spain that I recall with fondness. Salut!

Food just wasn’t good. We all got the five course tasting. It tasted like mass prepared luke warm food being served off a buffet. I’ve been a fan of Jaleo since early 2000s. This is the first time I ever left wishing I picked somewhere else.

This place is very nice and the food was delicious.

We sat outside and it was a bit noisy, but inside looks like it would be fun too!

Took advantage of the quick lunch which is a great deal!

Excellent dining experience. We did the restaurant week menu and it was wonderful. Service was excellent. Only complaint is I wish they had a few more options for wines by the glass, but I could see that being due to COVID right now.

We almost missed restaurant week, but managed to get to Jaleo with friends. We ate outside, and there was little traffic on the street, so it was fairly quiet. Jaleo does service well in these COVID times, with tables well spaced and servers wearing masks and gloves. As always the food was excellent, and the restaurant week price makes for exceptional value for the money.

The restaurant week menu was quite nice and very reasonably priced. The food was very good and we enjoyed the evening very much. The wait staff seemed to be a bit preoccupied, perhaps being restaurant week (although the place wasn't all that busy), but they would rush us between courses and then forget simple things like asking if we wanted coffee with our dessert? That was a bit disappointing. All over, I like Jaleo and always have and will return.

First time going to this location (Crystal City) and first time dining out since Covid. I was nervous, but tables were spaced apart enough to easily accommodate social distancing guidelines. Sanitizing tables as well as a sanitizing station showed me Jaleo takes Covid seriously. My anxiety melted away, I relaxed and enjoyed myself and the company of my friend. Food was delish (no surprise there), enough tapas in a serving to comfortably share with my friend. Our server was appropriately masked with gloves and attentive without hovering. 1/2 carafe of white sangria was just the right amount of alcohol. The Ensalada campera was amazing! Ditto for the Gambas al ajillo. I thought the Espinacas a la catalana was a little salty, but my friend thought it was perfect.

We asked for a table outside and were accommodated by a very conscientious hostess so that our guests could speak to us without being too close. I told the waiter that one guest was a nurse who had just worked three night shifts in a row and was exhausted. The amazing waiter brewed a fresh pot of coffee for her and brought it out the minute she was seated. He also brought out a sample menu and told her that for the next year she could come to Jaleo any time, show her hospital ID and get a free meal from that menu. Amazing kindness. She was really touched.

And now the food. The Japanese eggplant is a must-try. We also love the Daniel Patrick Moynihan (sausage and beans). Try the endive salad and the apple/fennel salad. And the garlic shrimp. We ordered three servings of the mushrooms so we could take some home to mix with rice the next day.

So yeah, it is highly recommended. Food for the stomach and the soul.

We have loved Jaleo for years. This was our first trip back since the pandemic. It was also our first inside the restaurant dining experience since March. We were completely happy with our experience. Jaleo's food tasted even better than before and it has always been terrific. The Sangria was delicious and refreshing. Our server was lovely. We felt totally safe there, which made our dining experience exceptionally enjoyable. What a treat.

Group of 4. Great attention from the staff. The corporate sommelier was in the building who helped pick out some great selections to go with the food. Food was great. Nice array of selections to pick from. Pacing of courses were great. Didnt land on top of each other. Also had a nice little wine "shop" upstsirs which was a temp controlled room featuring all the bottles they sold at retail prices which was great as a lot of them are hard to come by as not too many places specialize in Spanish wines. Overall we all had a great time out with great food and vibes.

The wait staff was really great. We went for the restaurant week special. The food that was good was REALLY GOOD. But I half of the dishes were just meh. Nothing special and not that good. Drinks were good! I would just suggest a little more flavor on some of the tapas, for example the watermelon tomato dish. Overall great experience and good vibe! Will most likely be back

Jaleo offers delicious tapas for sharing. If you are looking for a traditional meal, move on. If you are looking for an adventure, look no further.

Due to the small plates nature of the menu, you can try a variety of choices with little risk.

In our experience, every choice was divine.

My friend and I came by for Sangria Hour and to enjoy the outdoor option. The entire staff was friendly, and very on top of cleaning and following safety guidelines. There was even a hand sanitizer station across from our table. I'm generally a fan of Jaleo, and this was my first visit to a restaurant following reopenings, and I was impressed with how great of a job the whole team did.

We were able to eat in a socially distanced setting at a table for two. The location is off a busy road, so it did get a bit noisy at times. Great precautions taken and its nice you can use a QR code to view the menu as well as pay your bill. We did the express lunch which is a pretty decent value - everything was great and their flan is delicious!
