Great space for a business dinner (which is what we had). Lots of different dishes, and the service was very good. Would certainly go back.
Great food. Fun place excellent service.
The dishes that were good, were incredible, but some were misses. I highly recommend the paella and the toast with sea urchin. The octopus was a little bland and the sangria was so-so. The staff and ambience were top notch. I would definitely give it a second chance.
Did the tasting menu and every single dish and drink was delicious and well thought-out. Service was perfect. Loved the easy access to parking, too!
We had a great time at Jaleo. Our waiter Ricardo had excellent recommendations and was very friendly.
Our server Rebecca was outstanding!
Food was great. Rebecca was awesome, perfect suggestions for wine and dishes.
Great service authentic Spanish food. Actually the best outside of spIn itself. O am from Spain so I can attest to authenticity. I highly recommend.
Jose Andres restaurants never disappoint. Love the small plates to share. Great night out with friends. The croquettes are delicious. We had the cauliflower too. All delicious.
Service was fantastic! Everyone was very friendly and attentive.
I would not recommend Jaleo for Brunch. I’m not sure they had enough staff on hand. We were sat next to a large party and crammed in to a small table next to them.
My party was ignored for 10 minutes before our order was taken. Bread was brought to our table well after we had eaten the main entree and our tapas were brought out at least 7 minutes after that.
I normally look forward to coming to Jaleo but this experience left much to be desired.
I might try again for evening tapas but it will be awhile before I come back for brunch.
I eat at Jaleo almost weekly and it’s always great. What really makes it fantastic is that we ask for our favorite server, Mac, and he is always on top of every need before it’s even requested. Now I just need to figure out a setting in OpenTable to only make reservations when he is working and only be sat in his section.
Always fantastic cod fritters! Great service from Diego too!
I was interested in trying the Crystal City branch of Jaleo and wasn't disappointed. The food was fabulous, the layout of the restaurant bright, stylish and inviting and the service outstanding. I will definitely go there again (and again)!
I brought out-of-town guests there. One is vegan and one has food allergies and I knew they could find something delicious that met their needs. I was right. Lots of good choices. The special menu marking allergens was helpful. The only drawback was the noise. It was challenging to have a conversation and we were trying to catch up after living in different cities.
Great food, outstanding service. My colleague was pressed for time as he flew out of Reagan that evening. The staff worked hard to bring out o our order quickly. Much appreciated!
Chef was very accommodating to our party's ovo-lacto vegetarian and put together a brunch tasting menu to her specs. We ordered a side of jamon for the carnivores and ended with a surprise birthday flan.
This tapas haven is a welcome treat when visiting crystal city va. Be sure to order many items so you can share with your friends
Had a great time!
Jaleo is a national treasure. The founder is a food genius. But now, they have raised the prices so dramatically, that it no longer is a FAIR value. Can you imagine...the Spanish anchovies (sardines) used to be priced around $15 for a tapas-sized portion. Now, they ask $30. And a "carafe" of Sangria (red), containing a bit less than one bottle of wine: $43!!!!!. That Sangria is excellent, but this same recipe and wine was previously, perhaps $24. SOOOO, what must be done to bring this price escalation under control???
Not as good as it used to be. Service was spotty. Food was average and disappointing. Overall thinking I will not go back anytime soon. Too bad. Used to be fun.
Rebecca did a great job recommending dishes. She was very attentive and we had great service. Food was awesome as usual.
Met a colleague and friend for an early dinner as he passed through town. Had one old favorite and one new dish. The flamenquines were as good as always. The new dish had scallops with raisins and pine nuts in a reduction of Pedro Ximenez. It was excellent; I’m sure it’s one I will order again some visit. The restaurant is usually very noisy, but because of the early hour was only moderately noisy tonight. Service was prompt and knowledgeable.
We tried the "medium size" tasting menu and weren't disappointed. Rather than the wine pairings, our waiter helped us select a brut rose cava and a tinto. A delightful evening.
This place is always incredible. We love the menu and we love taking our friends here. The service is always impeccable too!!
Nice evening out. Great food and service. The small plates are fun and you get to same lots of options. We enjoyed it very much especially the red sangria. Perfection. Thank you Jose for another outstanding restaurant.
I hadn't eaten at Jaleo in a while but it didn't disappoint. The food and service were excellent. It's a great place to go with friends or family. I went with a friend and we shared the sautéed spinach, button mushrooms, hangar steak, and roasted onions, plus a flan for dessert. I though the roasted onion was good, not great, but it's one of my friend's faves. My only complaint is that it was noisy but that's a problem in many restaurants these days.
I was visiting the area and wanted to take my Mother out for dinner while I was in town. When I lived in the DC metro area, I would frequent Jaleo often, but this was her first experience. The food, the service, the drinks...everything was excellent and did not disappoint. She loved it and I believe she's already been back once or twice lol. Keep up the great work.
I’m Spanish and so I know the cuisine well. Food was good, not great. But service was excellent, great ambiance, wine selection was good, nice bar area. China Chilcano by Jose Andres was much better with regards to food. Regardless we had a lovely time.
Excellent place for delicious tapas. My favorite restaurant in Crystal City.
Excellent service at the bar. Delicious sangria and tapas. I only wish we could have tried more!
Super friendly, fast service and delicious plates to share
Everything was great as usual.
I love Jaleo, Chef Andres, and the location. Their tasting menu is excellent, too. Brilliant.
I met two friends for dinner. The decor is beautiful, and the service was excellent. It happened to be during Restaurant Week in Northern Virginia, and there was a special menu. One thing I did not like was a rule that required ALL of us to order off the regular menu or the special menu. I had had a late lunch and was not very hungry. My two friends wanted to order from the restaurant week menu, which meant I had to also. It was too much food for me. But the food was delicious. The gambas al ajillo were perfect, the flan was great. I can't remember the other items I ordered (there were five) but they were all good.
Really appreciate the Allergen menu, and especially the Gluten Free options.
We did the Tour of Spain with the wine pairings. It was amazing!
Fabulous food, good prices, fine service--but good luck holding a conversation--the music is way too loud. Several requests did not result in a lowering of the volume.
I (female) arrived first. No one came by but the guy with water. I finally flagged down a waiter fir a menu with all its pages and asked for a Salty Margarita. The waiter told me the bartender said they were out of Triple Sec — on a Saturday night. My male companion arrived, expressed disappointment that there would be no Margaritas and, as if by magic, the bartender found the Triple Sec. When we were nearly finished, a third Margarita arrived for my male companion “extra full” to make up for any inconvenience caused to male companion. I then described my long wait and denial of a Margarita and demanded a free one on the bartender for her behavior. It arrived in “Sec”onds
There was a small glitch with our reservation but Rebecca Janson, the Training Ambassador on site, as well as our wait person, Caroline, more than made up for it. Service was professional while friendly. The food was interesting, delicious, and presented beautifully. It was a wonderful experience. This will be our go to restaurant whenever we are in the area!
