Extensive menu and good food. Everything was great but the sangria and shrimp tapas are overpriced.
It was a pleasant place to sit and talk but the portions were very skimpy
Terrific, as always. First time trying the tasting menu. It was great -- but I think I prefer the pick and choose approach here. We sat outside, which is always reasonably quiet -- and generally considerably quieter than inside.
Fried bacon wrapped dates were incredible! Also loved the Cosmo in the Clouds drink.
Excellent food and service! Will be returning soon.
Food was good but not exceptional.
My out of town friend loved the small plates and variety offered. The summer special gazpacho was delicate and flavorful! We started with a carafe of sangria and enjoyed every morsel of food. Our waitress was attentive without being overbearing.
Really just mediocre tapas, but at a premium price. The Chinatown location is typically much better than this, so perhaps it's a complaint specific to the Bethesda location, not sure.
Pleasant outdoor setting, excellent service, a wide range of fine menu choices, and reasonable prices. The seafood paella was particularly outstanding. It is always a pleasure to support the ventures of Chef Jose' Andres, in view of his good works and courageous stands on social and political issues!
Our table was in the blazing sun. My beer was $9– ouch. The special raw tuna was very bland. The bread and olive oil were terrific. And I liked the sausage and white beans. The waiters were slow in clearing dirty plates. It was an average experience.
Food is still delish. The service less so. Wait staff behaves like order takers, not providing oversight of our experience.
Great food, attentive service, lively ambiance, great atmosphere, good list of wines as well. For those who enjoy different foods, small portions, great flavor, and the Spanish way of life.
Jaleo is a great place to spend time with friends. Sharing dishes helps create an intimate environment - look forward to returning soon!
Jaleo still has good food, but not as good as when they first opened in DC and Bethesda. The atmosphere seems dated and the restaurant needs to be updated, so it doesn’t look pretty much the same as 15 years ago,
As usual a wonderful meal! It seems Jaleo has become my "go to" restaurant for reliable dependable great meals. The menu contines to evolve will keeping a few good staples like the spinach with pine nuts and roasted sweet onions with blue cheese.
Great food, sangria and atmosphere!
We needed to grab food quickly before a movie and the food was yummy and arrived in lightning speed! We especially loved the bacon wrapped dates.
Jaleo never, never fails to provide a great experience. The menu is creative, ever changing, and everything is really delicious. Although, I'm a sucker for the ham croquettes every time.
As usual, had a great meal celebrating our dad and sister’s June birthdays at Jaleo. Yolande was our server and she was fantastic! Very knowledgeable about the menu and options for our son with food allergies.
Wonderful dinner! The service was exceptional.
Service was atrocious. We sat down and asked for club soda and a glass of water. After 5+ minutes, we were given one glass of water and one EMPTY glass that looked like a candleholder. Server mumbled something incoherent and left. After asking a different server for club soda, the same guy who brought the empty glass came back with another glass and a small bottle of club soda which he left on the table, unopened, and silently walked away. WTH, he couldn’t have opened the bottle?? Or said something, anything, like do you need anything?? The various servers were dismissive all evening: no eye contact, no “how was your meal”, no water glass refills, nothing. Food was decent but not outstanding. Overall, we were disappointed. When we made the reservation, we indicated it was our anniversary, which was totally ignored by the restaurant. Why ask if you are not going to treat it as a special occasion?
Enjoyed a delicious, fun lunch sharing several different tapas dishes, including sautéed spinach with pine nuts and raisins, roasted cauliflower with olives and dates, seared salmon and veges, gazpacho, fennel and apples, Spanish omelette with veges. We were celebrating two birthdays and had truly outstanding service! Red sangria was fantastic.
Amazing food, good service, great ambiance. Will definitely visit again, and will recommend to anyone.
We had been to Jaleo earlier in the week and thoroughly enjoyed it and we were only in Bethesda for a week so we met a friend there for lunch. Again we all thoroughly enjoyed it! I wish there was one in western Massachusetts!
We stopped before a movie and ordered the daily menu, which is very reasonable in price. Everything was delicious and better than expected for a fixed menu. There are a number of choices for each course and we really enjoyed each one of them. The dishes were nicely presented and seemed to be done with great care. We love this restaurant and it will continue to be one of our favorites.
Attentive waiters, quick service. We were there for a couple of hours and never felt rushed to leave as we were enjoying conversation.
Good interesting food
Food and service were excellent. This is a reliably great place to dine for any occasion!
We usually have a great experience but service was very off on this occasion. We spent almost two hours on what should have been a one hour and fifteen meal. Pretty disappointing.
The food at Jaleo, service and atmosphere is always excellent at Jaleo. Enjoyed the Gazpacho, Chicken Fritters, Shrimp with garlic, hanger steak, cauliflower and artichokes- all fantastic.
We always enjoy Jaleo, but even more lately. The kitchen, management and staff seem to be back in sync. Bring back locally farmed vegetable specials!
Had to wait for half an hour for a table even with a reservation.
Another great meal at Jaleo. Always interesting and tasty. I brought a friend from out of town who very much enjoyed it.
The restaurant has a great wine list. Unfortunately, you can't always get the wines on the list. My concern isn't that they were out of the wine, but that it took 50 minutes between the first order and then the re-order for any wine to get to the table. By that time, we had finished the food with no wine.
We were seated outside, and when a sudden downpour hit, we were able to be easily reseated inside. They were very pleasant about our change.
Outstanding food. This was quite possibly the best tapas we have ever eaten. That includes sampling tapas across most of Spain, plus several major American cities. Bravo! We will be back!
Jaelo's continues to impress! So pleased with some of the items brought back on the menu -- Had the short ribs and they were delicious! Everything was fresh, and wonderful. Our go-to restaurant -- it's never missed and our favorite place to dine!
Everything was so good.
Everything was great with the exception of the rabbit I ordered which was over-cooked to the point that it had a beef jerky texture.
