Get off the couch and go to Jaleo for restaurant week and eat up. 4 courses at lunch for $22. They have to be losing money. Food is outstanding, each and everytime. Friendly service.

8:15 pm arrival and reservation for four, busy Saturday.
Receptionist asked us to wait at the bar, estimated 7-10! minutes delay. Great bartender, margaritas were pretty good. Half an hour later no table available, we walked back to reception and unfortunately the night was over. We were treated with sarcasm and informed we would have to wait 7 minutes more! An hour late and as tables became available we went back and demanded our table and with a smile on his face we were almost invited to leave the restaurant. “ I won’t bag you to stay if you decide you want to go somewhere else “ does not seem to be a proper statement! Things changed after we involved the manager and immediately we had a table and good service.
We have been to Jaleo before and always had a good experience there.
Receptionists however are supposed to be facilitators and not gate keepers. Too bad.

We were seated nearly 45 minutes after our reservation, which was for 8pm on a Saturday night. After repeated promises to be seated next, we waited patiently. A GM eventually, after 30 minutes, gave us some Cava, which was nice touch. We were seated near the window, which on a night that was around 15 degrees Fahrenheit, made for a chilly dinner. The waiter took another 10 minutes to get to us, so about an hour after we arrived, we placed our drink orders. This is not our first time to Jaleo and it is not the first time we have been made to wait. The reason we return is the food is rather good. And this evening was no different from previous evenings. The food was spot on and delivered in a timely manner. The garlic shrimp is a go-to. The cheese options are delightful. And the jambon is always a favorite. If they could get the service from entry to exit more consistent, this place would be a more frequent choice.

Second time to Jaleo. The food is delicious, very healthy and tasty, lots and lots of dishes with fresh vegetables. We were there during restaurant week and had the menu at 35$ which was a steal. Very lively room so not perhaps for a quiet evening, but great otherwise. The only suggestion I would have is that we had to ask for bread (delicious) - so would appreciate it if was offered. Service is good, as are drinks (I had the Cava cocktail, yummy).

First time at Jaleo in a while and it was much worse than previously. Food was largely tasteless and not served at the right temperature. Warm brussel sprout salad was the only highlight.

We enjoyed our evening at Jaleo because the food is terrific and they didn't rush us out. However we wouldn't advise going there on a super cold night. We were sat on the perimeter of the restaurant and were fairly cold the entire evening. The walls are made to be open in nice weather but are not sealed well or insulated for winter nights. In fairness, it was unusually cold outside, so maybe it's not as bad on an average night.

While the menu has many of Jaleo's old favorites, it has also changed in the year since we last dined here and the additions all seemed very tempting. We settled on a mix of salads, shrimp, croquettes, scallops (superb),sautéed spinach, and flan. The wait staff was very attentive and skilled. It was a delightful, delicious evening.

A New Year's Eve celebration at Jaleo turned out out to be the perfect place. Attentive waiters, always good food, and an atmosphere of fun and joy. It was capped by the chef standing on the bar at midnight, ringing in the New Year by beating the heck out of a paella pan!

We have been to Jaleo for New Year's Eve for three years running. We also go by occasionally to have sangria at the bar and for dinner. This is one of our favorite places.

We’ve always loved Jaleo, but the portions seemed significantly smaller this time. An $18 cheese platter consisted of six small bites of cheese and two dried apricots. We ordered numerous dishes for two adults and three kids - maybe ten or twelve- and relied on bread to fill us up!

Cramped restaurant- tables are way too close together. Couldn’t even have a private conversation. Tortilla Española was more like an oily omelet from a diner than the real thing (I lived in Spain for 3 years). Charcuterie platter was skimpy and expensive (meats were good though), lamb was very fatty and over cooked. Minuscule prices of octopus on the pulpo tapa. Ridiculously over priced overall.

We had the Chef's Tasting menu Jaleo Experience. Everything was delicious and the chef accommodated our one non-meat eating guest with special selections when the course included a meat dish. I was particularly impressed at how well our server handled our table on a very busy night in the restaurant.

Our dinner at Jaleo was great as always - an selection of anything we could want, especially for people with different preferences, all of which were cooked perfectly and with interesting flavors. The restaurant was quiet considering how full it was, but still required a little effort to be heard across the table.

I have been a fan of Jaleo and just had a great meal there a few weeks ago, but this time was a real disappointment. I suspect that some of the problems were that there was a huge crowd waiting to be seated when we left (at about 7:30) -- we had arrived about 530 and even at that early hour it was half full. Some of the servings seemed smaller than usual, as if they were worried about running out of food and, as the evening went on, the service was a lot slower than usual. The food was generally good, but did not seem to be up to the normal standards of this restaurant.

The tapas were delicious and the setting was quite fun for a group. There were a few critical things that altered our enjoyment of the evening. First, we waited quite a while to be seated for our reservation and there was no place to sit or stand while waiting. Secondly, I ordered a "sea salt" marguerita, which was so over-salted that it was undrinkable. The waitress tried to convince me that it was supposed to taste like that, but did finally agree to take it away. When she returned (with a new, different drink) she told me that she, the bartender and the manager all tasted my previous drink (#eeww) and agreed that it was way too salty. The other issue was that 15 minutes after all but one of our tapas orders had arrived, I flagged down the waitress and asked where was my shrimp tapas? The waitress ran back to the kitchen, came back out and said that they had "forgotten it". They finally brought it out, ~ 10 minutes later and agreed to remove the charge for that one from the bill. It's a rather expensive restaurant by the time it's all settled - so I hope that they work out some of the critical flaws.

The food was delicious. Server pleasant and informative about the various dishes, but like in all Jose Andres restaurants, runners bring the food and it's sometimes hard to find your server when you need him/her. Not too noisy because it was early in the evening and a weekday . I would play music more to my taste or no music, but that's unlikely to happen. :)

I have been here several times over the years, but this last visit was probably the best it's ever been. Its great to see an established place doing well and continuing to churn out delicious food and interesting menus. i loved the grilled clementine special, and the monkfish and the hanger steak dishes the very best, but there was nothing to complain about at all!

Another wonderful visit with all kinds of yummy flavors! We've been here many times and always enjoy it. My only notes: only my friend's water was refilled and the pourer disappeared so quickly, for quite a while I tried to get someone's attention for my empty glass. I kept moving it closer to the edge, with so many staff rushing around. Never got more water. By the time our server appeared to ask about dessert, we were under a time crunch to pay and get to our movie around the corner.

We had also never noticed one table is a foosball game, and the children were shriekingly excited while playing. Made it hard to talk at all for a while, on a Saturday night.

Neither a big deal, really, but thought I'd share this feedback.
