Very nice, relaxed atmosphere with good service. The dishes were all very tasty but the lamb was by far, my favorite. It was very flavorful and cooked just right. Yum!
Not inexpensive, but a great way to explore Jose's take on tapas. Great wine list.
Also nice to celebrate a special event, day etc.
The food is always fabulous, small plates are the way to go for variety. Good wine list.
While the food was excellent, service was spotty. Had to ask three times for a refill on the o live olive oil supplied for dipping with the bread. Other than that, service was good.
Mi esposa que es puertorriqueña y yo queríamos ir a alguno de los restaurantes de Jose Andres ya que lo admiramos muchisimo por su labor humanitaria en Puerto Rico.
Magnifica comida y servicio.
Overall, a very pleasing dining experience with all but 1 dish excellent and attentive service. Also very accommodating about food allergies. Their patatas bravas are the stuff of dreams, the shrimp lovely, the cauliflower with dates and olives a delightful combination, the endive with goat cheese reliably great, the pan de cristal had wonderful flavor and crunch... Sadly, the quail was uninspiring.
Service was less than expected.
We went for Valentine's 2018. The restaurant provided complimentary Rose cava, and had special and regular menus available. The restaurant was crowded but the food and cocktails were lovely. We had a great time.
We used to go to the downtown Jaleo frequently after the theatre, and always enjoyed the variety and tastiness of the small plates. So we were looking forward to our treat in Bethesda on Valentine's Day. We ordered the tasting menu @$55, and a bottle of Spanish wine (very good). The food, however -- 8 different plates -- was either bread with something on it (tomato, eggplant) or fried (cheese) or some kind of cured meat (sausage). In short -- nothing succulent or inviting, like the baby lamb chops we used to get downtown. Even the spinach w pine nuts and raisins, wh I always used to order, was thrown together here and oily. I hate it when a good restaurant gets careless and tries to save money on the food. Especially when they're charging so much.
We came Jaleo's because of the truffle festival, and because it was Valentine's day. We ordered one of the set menus of the day, and added truffles to a couple of the dishes. On the down side, the truffles were either too bland or to subtle for me to taste. But having lived in Italy and experienced fresh truffles every year, I don't think they were subtle. On the bright side, every single dish was so wonderful that we didn't really mind the blandness of the truffles. The lesson- trust the chefs at Jaleo's to create what they want, and don't try to mess with perfection!
Jaleo is one of the few reasons I would ever venture to downtown Bethesda. It's great to see the Jaleo brand retaining its high quality when expanding out of downtown DC into the 'burbs.
Wow food is EXQUISITE! Servers are Outstanding!
The food was delicious as usual! This visit was for a Sunday lunch with my sister. I have been to the Bethesda and Washington Jaleos several times each. Have never been disappointed!
