Food and service was great. It was however very cold inside the restaurant.
It was excellent. Food was great and service very good
This restaurant never disappoints. The food is always delicious, and it was a very generous menu for restaurant week. We had excellent, excellent service.
It's always a pleasure eating at Jaleo.
My daughter and I started eating at Jaleo in DC in 1994. We just went back there for Restaurant Week on Aug. 13th. Now we frequent Bethesda Jaleo more often because it is closer to our homes. I have never been disappointed in a Jaleo meal including the excellent service.
As always outstanding menu, excellent food and good service.
Restaurant week is always a time to go to Jaleo! Five courses with three choices each of the delicious Tapas offered there. By far the best thing was the salmon with the crispy skin with two sauces. We always order the potatoes bravas And the spinach with pinenuts, raisins and a-wonderful cider vinegar dressing! It is a wonderful experience except that the air conditioning was broken that day.
Jaleo is one of our favorite restaurants. The food and service are excellent.
Food and service was great. We went during restaurant week.
My friend and I went to the restaurant for restaurant week. we had never eaten there before and decided to try it . the food was absolutely delicious and we would certainly recommend it to family and friends the only down side was the noise level. Part of the restaurant was closed so everyone was seated to one particular side. Also the wait staff were too quick to pick up the dishes . We felt a bit rushed.
Jose Andres' restaurants have always been a favorite of mine. Each food is crafted with care and delicateness that makes the experience extra special. It was pretty busy when we were there so it took for our orders to get in. But even so, the experience still good!
Visitors in town
Best food in the area- especially croquettes de jamon!!!
We went on restaurant week. Loved the food and drink!
One of the best places ever! We stopped by for a dinner and the place was semi-full at 6 pm, however by the time we got our appetizers is was packed full! Judging by the tone and conversations of the people around us - they do come here often, which speaks for itself.
The staff was going above and beyond! Food came out quickly and the portions were just the right size. We sampled half of the Restaurant Week menu (10 tapas for 2 of us) and every single one of them was simply delicious. I did not even take any pictures as the food was gone momentarily! Endive appetizer, watermelon salad, patatas bravas and chicken fritters were EXCEPTIONALLY good! Very interesting and unusual flavors!
We loved the place and def are coming back!
Cleaning the table next to us with a noxious smelling chemical while we were eatingWas my only complaint.
The food was delicious and the service was excellent.
Enjoyed the restaurant week menu. Plenty to select from, came out staggered and freshly prepared. our server kept checking in to ensure our selections were delivered.
good as ever! But the Restaurant Week bargain -- which we didn't know about -- was better yet: many of their best tapas, and more than we needed to eat.
My criticism is of both the service and the food - we (party of 3) ordered off the very limited RW menu, with basically a one time interaction with waitstaff for our entire meal. It felt like a crime when some attention was needed - e.g., could ice cream and sorbet be placed in a dish rather than 2 scoops of ice cream. It was a large quantity of food, but the only truly tasty dishes were the cauliflower and the spinach (perhaps the flan, which I didn't taste). Since one of us ordered an extra, more appealing dessert, the staff could/should have also offered a third RW dessert. I have been a fan of Jaleo for years, and was disappointed by the RW offerings overall.
I was really excited about going to Jaleo but my experience was pretty bad. I went with two other people and I got served all my tapas first and my guests were not served for at least 15 minutes after. Two of my dishes had hair in them and the manager did not handle it well. I also only saw my server about twice during the evening so I couldn’t even fix any of the problems that kept coming up. I was pretty dissatisfied!
The service was excellent and the food, quite good. The gazpacho was first rate and the chicken main course was fine. Although the cauliflower dish was slightly undercooked for my taste, the combination of dates and olives in which it was cooked was novel and I would try it again. And of course, the flan did not disappoint. Jaleo remains one of my favorite brunch-lunch go-to's.
We had the Classico tasting menu. Some things were outstanding. I would have preferred to choose the items. They seated us beside the kitchen, which is not a nice thing to do to people who made reservations weeks in advance. Server was charming, but he was rushed. Decor great. TOO LOUD.
Great restaurant overall. The noise level was intense and the music was so wrong. Bad pop music. Could do with a whole new vibe music-wise. We stuck mostly to the Spanish food standbys and were very happy. Where we went wrong was the mini hamburguesas made with pork. Too greasy and heavy, could have split one. Won’t order it again.
Had an array of tapas and all were delicious! Great selection and food sangria. Can’t wait to go back!
I took my family dining for tapas the food was good however was too salty especially the croquettes and the paella was mediocre due to the fact the rice was under cook and the quality of the shrimp and the calamari was poor. The place deteriorated since its opening 10 years ago hence would not return!!!
We did the tasting. Everything was incredible.
This place is the perfect
Very good food and as always excellent service. We missed the spinach croquetas. Please bring them back!
Great meal to celebrate a birthday. The staff was AMAZING. The food is always terrific. Thank you so much. We will be back soon.
The food is always creative and delicious. We were sitting in the bar where they were a somewhat short- staffed, so service was just a bit slow. Too the noise level was pretty high. Nevertheless, I always leave feeling happily full for days. I highly recommend them.
We rely on Jose Andres' Jaleo for consistently creative, well-prepared, tasty food; an excellent alfresco dining atmosphere; and attentive, professional servers. Above and beyond that, we are big supporters of Mr. Andres' many good works in the local community and far beyond, and of his principled stands on key societal issues.
Didn't love the octupus paella, but the olive oil ice cream, the roe and salmon cones, and goat cheese endives were stand outs from our menu.
Everything was fantastic! The food, the ambiance, the service - Excellent experience.
Jaleo is a fantastic experience, the menu has incredible variety and the staff are very helpful about assisting with selection. If you’re prepared to spend then its a perfect night out but it can be difficult to feel like you’re getting the whole experience on a budget.
Given the reputation of Jaleo downtown, I have to admit to being disappointed. The food was mostly fine, but the fried items were greasier than I would have liked. The fried bacon wrapped dates were good, but far from inspired. The shrimp sauted in garlic was excellent, though. The service, like the food, was good, but not great...
Never thought I could have a paella in DC as good as the ones I’ve tasted in Spain. Highly recommend Jaleo!
The service, the atmosphere and the food were all Dutch Baby!
Not as nice as DC location
Everything was very good, especially the seasonal specials, the salads with watermelon and the heirloom tomatoes.
We enjoyed the Jaleo Experience combo, which was a little expensive ($55/person) but very good and, we thought anyway a better idea than trying to pick from the ala carte menu and hoping we chose wisely. Food was mostly interesting and delicious and provided nice variety.
Quick dinner prior to leaving town after a meeting. Food was outstanding. Highlights were the liquid olive and the olive oil ice cream with grapefruit (yes I like olives). Impressive longevity for this restaurant. This would be one of the best restos in Nashville.
