We were so impressed with the service. There was
A member of our party who is severely allergic to fish
And the waiter was so careful to check with the chef
To make sure that she did not order anything that had
Any “fish based” seasonings. The food is always
Too crowded during covid heaters weren’t working.. not the best experience
We've dined here many times and brought friends with us. Excellent service and never been disappointed. Reservation accepted so makes our 30 minute drive worth it.
Good food and service.
Great patio seating, slow service but food was good. We’ll be back
Food was terrible and it took 30 minutes to get our appetizer. We’ll never return.
They were very busy but they did their best to give us a great experience! We waited for a while to get seated and our food but they more than made up for it with amazing service, food, and a free round of drinks! Krista in particular was amazing and so attentive and sweet! Would definitely come back!
The tortilla they used for my burrito wrap was stale and hard. The burrito was also very dry. Chicken was over done.
A lovely evening. Great place for outdoor dining in particular.
Great as always.
Generally one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in North Scottsdale, so familiarity counts for a lot. Had the cheese enchiladas, rice, and beans. A perennial favorite for lunch and as big a lunch as I can handle. Party of two ate outside. Nice patio, friendly staff, and I can't wait to go back soon.
Waited 15 minutes to get water & a silverware after we were seated. Food was fairly bland. It’s not the normal type of food we get. I’m hoping it was an off night for the entire staff.
Had a great experience here. Food was absolutely delicious! The Valentine’s Day special was great! Tons of food for two and the cookie in a cast iron skillet w/ ice cream for dessert was fantastic! Definitely coming back.
I am hoping this experience is a one off. We eat here several times per year and usually it's much better than it was Sunday night. The service was horrible. It took more than an hour to get our food, we only got after we asked our server to check on it, and half the food on my plate was cold. The chimichanga was hot and it was pretty good. I would still recommend them because historically our experience has been much better. Hopefully they were just having a bad night and this isn't becoming the norm.
Great food, and amazing service.
waiter had dirty shirt on not appealing for a customer. Could not get heater working everyone else had theirs working.
Food good Good Prices
Server was not attentive. Our food was brought out after a long wait. My wife’s meal was not correct. The manager delivered the plates and hers was wrong. He took it back to the kitchen to correct it, but it still came out wrong.
Food was really slow and server was avoiding us because of the kitchen problems the inside was cold. Usually a good experience, but this time fell short.
Still one of our favorite spots in North Scottsdale. Great service and food at a reasonable price.
It was absolutely awful. Check out my review on Yelp. I’m not the only person from the SAME NIGHT that experienced that same horrible service.
Nice patio with social distance. Customers wearing masks. Food is always good.
We have been going to Jalapeno's since they first opened 20 years ago. We absolutely love the food, usually, and the service is also usually very good. However, on this evening when we went it was not good at all. We like to sit in the bar, so that is where we grabbed a table. We did notice that the restaurant looked pretty busy that night for a Wednesday. We waited quite a while to be greeted by our server for drinks. Once we ordered our margarita and beer, we waited for about 15 minutes to receive them. We still had not ordered food and it was quickly approaching the end of happy hour and we wanted to get some appetizers while they were still 1/2 price, so I flagged down another server and asked if we could place the order with him. He was very accommodating. We finally received our drinks and the server acknowledged that we had placed our order for the appetizers. With that he left. Another 10-15 minutes passed and we had some additional people join our party, so again we flagged down the server so they could order drinks. Waited probably 10 minutes for them to get their cocktails and we asked if we could go ahead and order the rest of the food....appetizers had still not arrived. We ordered and continued to wait. The appetizers came out eventually. We waited quite a while before receiving our food. When we received it, some of the food looked to have been sitting under a heat lamp for quite some time. The pollo fundido, which is supposed to have a jalapeno cream cheese on top was melted into the entree, and dried. When the server came over to check on our entrees, probably another 10 minutes later, I returned the food. He apologized and of course took the cost off our bill. To say the least, we were extremely disappointed with our experience this time. We will continue to frequent Jalapeno's, as we love it there, but just think that management needed to know about this less than satisfactory experience.
Excellent as always ! Doing a great job amid the COVID.
We just love this place - always great service and quality food!
We love Jalapeños! I always get the shrimp tacos because they are the best ever!! Our friends that went with us had never been before and they said the salsa was the also the best they ever had!! Great food and great service!
Our waiter seemed hesitant and new not very confident. We received a dinner plate that was cold and the rice and beans were cold on it but the fish tacos were fine. Everyone else's plates were fine. The chips were great. It seemed like he couldn't handle the amount of tables he had going. He brought the check at the end without asking us for any dessert either.
Best flour tortilla chips!!
No heater per reservation request. Waited a long time for refills and such.
Amazing experience and everyone was extremely accommodating!
Made reservations, we had no wait time once we arrived. Service and food was very good. Will re visit and explore more of the menu. Fajitas were delicious, thank you!
Terrible customer service. We were there over an hour and saw our server twice. Once to take the order and once to apologize for the food taking so long and that we were going to get more chips - which never came. After about 65 minutes and once again looking for the server to no avail, we left. I can’t remember leaving a restaurant in this fashion in at least 15 years. There was no communication or offer to make the situation better. Usually, some sort of genuine concern is all that is needed to turn the situation around. I do not recommend this restaurant.
Went to the one on Scottsdale Road because I wanted an outdoor patio. They delivered on the patio and excellent with thevCovid Safety Protocols. Our waitress was very sweet and did an excellent job. I ordered a dish that I was told was not spicy hot. It was so spicy hot I couldn’t eat it. They offered me something else and were very accommodating. Where I was disappointed in was the food. I thought from the website and description of the chef and cost I would get some great Mexican Southwest food. It wasn’t for my taste. For me great on all things except the food. It just wasn’t what I wanted.
Great establishment. Have been dining there about once a month since it opened.
Sitting on the patio was nice but the service wasn't the greatest. My husband had to drink his beer out of the bottle because they didn't have any glasses?? We had to ask for silverware and napkins. No dessert menu was offered after we finished our meal. Overall the dinner was not worth the price
Always good food and service. Boss Margaritas, Carne Asada Steak and Courtney's Burrito. Yummy!
Beautiful restaurant l. Great food and awesome service.
This was our first trip to Jalapeno Inferno but definitely won’t be our last. The food and service were outstanding!
The food was fantastic - we will be back. It is a shame these days how poor service has become. Not just here, but we see it at most full-service restaurants. Servers are undertrained, it takes too long for the drinks to come to the table, dirty restrooms, etc. Maybe it's the labor shortage due to the good economy? It is very rare to ever see a FOH manager in the dining room. Quite a few of my friends have even given up going to restaurants altogether. Anyway, here's hoping Jalapeno Inferno re-commits itself to improving the service side of things.
So exciting to dine out at reasonable prices, lovely ambiance with high ceilings so we didn't have to SHOUT at each other to be heard over dinner. So many restaurants now seem to wrongly believe diners like football game atmosphere, where yelling is encouraged. This damages your hearing in short order. I know this too late.
So. We had a personable, tall male server who added to our enjoyment immensely. We got a window table with comfy padded chairs we sank into - ahhhh., Both of our dishes were quite good! I would just have liked a larger side of black beans with my enchiladas since the tiny bowl was not brimming. And even the rice could have been more piled up.
We sat outside but near the larger open doorway leading to the inner eating area. It seemed to take a long time for our order to be taken. The three other people at my table ordered bar drinks, while I ordered a soft drink. They received theirs in a timely fashion, but I had to ask twice for my drink. After our food was served, we never were asked by our server if we needed anything additional. A member of the management team did later ask us about the meal. We had to wait a long time for our bill. Overall, the food was good, but the service was not the best.... even as it was a busy Friday night at dinner time.
