Jake's Steakhouse - Long Island Ratings and Reviews
We passed Jakes numerous times and after looking it up, I decided to try it for my birthday. We usually go to either a premium spot like Ruths Chris or a chain like Boulder creek. This experience was more like Ruths Chris. The food was excellent as was the service. We had gone on a Wednesday, so it wasn't too crowded. It wasn't as stuffy as Ruths Chris, the decor was lighter and brighter. It was a very pleasant meal. They even comp'ed me my dessert.
I love this place when visiting my son. I am a beef lover and this is thr place to go! This week was restaurant week so we had great price for the best food. They had a really good menu. The strip steak was awesome and my son got grilled salmon with the included mussel appetizer. The mussels were in a diavalo sauce and they were so amazing. Looking forward to going back and getting the porterhouse for 2 or T-bone steak . Ive had them both and they are to die for. If you love beef, you won't be disappointed!!! I only took a pic of the mussels.
Expected better steak for the price. Also felt rushed, which was a shame for the price I was paying. BTW....why did opentable ask if I was celebrating a special occasion when I made the reservation? I noted that it was our anniversary and Jakes didn’t ask or acknowledge that. I will not go back.
Our dining experience was excellent. The reservations were for 5:30PM and the restaurant was not crowded. An open table in the rear provided a quiet spot for conversation while background music was just that, quietly background. We ordered from the Pre-fix. The food, steaks, were done to perfection and tender. All three desserts were excellent. The waitress was prompt, attentive and friendly. Overall, I was very satisfied.
The food was excellent, the service even better. We had asked to be served quickly as we were
going to a show locally. I believe the servers name was Mandy--and she was the best.
Got us out quickly but did not throw our meal at us.
Love this place!
Food was ok not worth the money. Service was very slow. The table next to us came in way after us and left before us. Jakes was an over all 5 out of 10. My wife and I don't get out much with two kids and I just wished our experience was just a little better. The food was ok but definitely not worth the amount of money we spent. It left a little disappointed 😞
My husband and I went for lunch and we were extremely happy. The service, food and atmosphere were all excellent!!! We have never been there before but will definitely be dining there again. I can't wait to go for dinner. Also, it will definitely be a great place for lunch with friends!
From the minute we were greeted by the valet, tended to by the ladies to our seats, Eddie the waiter's service and to top it off, our delicious meal! A great experience. If the only thing I can complain about is the cooler than normal temperature in the dining room, so be it. 5 stars.
Mussels to die for...the chefs red sauce was on point...absolutely delicious..my husband & frIend ordered the pot of mussels each....they told waiter that pot was only half filled so waiter bought out big bowl of extra mussels..they were happy about that...my girlfriend and I kept dipping our bread in their sauce which was seasoned to perfection...can't wait to go back!!
Food was outstanding as always. Unfortunately I called and spoke with the manager or host the night before to have them bring my wife a desert with a candle on for her birthday but they completely forget to pass it on, so where it should have been a special moment--the waitress unfortunately came by and just asked us if we'd like desert instead of presenting the cake.
We were disappointed with the experience. My wife had sea bass with risotto. The sea bass was great, but the risotto was flavorless and very disappointing. I had the marinated skirt steak, which was good but over cooked. My son has the filet mignon and that was undercooked and lacked seasoning.
So they sat my wife and i and next to the door that is used to go in and out to the outdoor dining area. That just made for an interruption every few minutes. That took away from the experience. I had the T-Bone and it was cooked medium rare as I like it. It was good. My wife ordered the filet full size, which was cooked at the proper temperature. The side of mashed potato and Brussels sprouts needed a little more flavoring. We finished off with apple crumb which was ok, the vanilla bean ice cream was very good on top of it. The table placement was the biggest issue there.
