We sat outside-excellent service and food outstanding. Wonderful evening to celebrate a birthday. Wednesday so wine 1/2 price which was a nice surprise. Keep up the good work.

I like Jake's. Good food. Good cocktails. Good service. But went there tonight for dinner and it was so dark in the dining room. When everyone has to pull out their phones to see the menu, it is too dark. If you want it that dark, light more candles, but it was kind of ridiculous. Took away from the dinner.

There is a Wisconsin North woods Supper Club ambience. The service was great and so was the food.

5 of my girlfriends went on a Monday night for my birthday. The service was outstanding. They had brought a cake for me and the waitress offered to place in frig for us. Some of us had the Monday night special and others ordered from the menu. All said it was very good. My steak (filet) was just ok tasting. it was done perfectly but I just didn't care for the taste. I don't know what it was. Everyone else enjoyed theirs. It was a very nice evening and would go back again.

This is our third time there and I really want to like it but every time there is something that just isn’t right. We have always had to wait significantly past our reservation time, over 30 mins this time. We were seated in a side room off the main dining room where the lighting was terrible.
Not a fan of the sides choices, they are salad OR two sides, the sides are 4 types of potato or wild rice, or vegetables for an up charge. I had 4 pieces of asparagus for $3.90......

Excellent food. Sat us in the bar area which isnt bad. A little noisy being very close to the next table. Food was excellent. I had the pork chop. It was done perfectly. My wife had the walleye which was excellent.

Birthday no effort was made to recognize this fact just not as good as previous visits- shame really.

It's been six years since my last visit so thought I would revisit and I was not disappointed. The food was exceptional. I had the surf & turf. The filet was cooked the perfect medium, very tender and the scallops - perfectly cooked. I will be returning to sample other entrees soon.

Great steak and great service! Every time we go has been a wonderful experience.

The waitress was horrible. We asked for a 2013 bottle of red wine. She brought us a 2016 and when I pointed it out she said they would’ve tasted the same and not to worry about it. Later she kept coming back to the table asking if she offended us but in a way that made us feel that we did something wrong. Whole experience was bad. Food just ok as well.

Valentines

We had a 7:15 reservation and we got seated about 8pm and then ordered our food at 8:15. We were able to get a seat at the bar and have a drink, which isn’t always the case. Food was excellent. Other than ordering our food 1 hour after our reservation, all was good.

Jakes is always great. My wife and I have visited often in the past year and the food and service is always outstanding.

Waitress was very good. Cocktails were decent but the food was the star! Really great menu and steaks were cooked perfectly. We will be back.

I always drive from LaCrosse, Wi to take my mom out for her birthday. I always chose Jake's because the food and service is amazing. This has been a tradition for about 5 years now. Looking forward to next year's dinner....she will then be 84. She still rocks! :)

Monday night steak special was as good as always. Onion rings were fantastic. Disappointed in the stingy short pours of $15 a glass wine.

This was our first visit to Jake's Restaurant and we were very pleased with the entire experience. We were celebrating my birthday and brought along my 17 year old granddaughter. We were seated in front of the fireplace and our server was wonderful. She was so attentive and made great suggestions on the menu offerings. The food was great, better than some of the higher end restaurants we have been to in the past that were comparable to ambiance, menu and pricing.

We went there for a 7:15 reservation and got there at 6:45 to grab drinks beforehand. We didn't get our table until almost 8pm and didn't get our food until 9:45pm. Our food was pretty cold when we got it too, and some of it seemed overcooked. Probably won't go back unfortunately.
