We met another couple for a business-related dinner. We enjoyed hours of conversation and never felt rushed. Our server was the perfect blend of attentive and responsive to our requests. We ordered and enjoyed side dishes, salads, main entrees, bar beverages and dessert. Everything had a beautiful presentation and was delicious. Truthfully, I had the best salad of my life there ~ shaved brussel sprouts with pear and a maple vinaigrette, outstanding!! The first time I ate at "Jake's" was for my 16th birthday and I'm 56 years old now. I remember dining here over many special occasions. I would highly recommend Jake's.
I hadn't been to Jake's in over 20+ years. My hubby had never been there. Our plans to go somewhere else fell through so we decided to chance Jakes. It didn't disappoint. We will be back!
My wife and I met another couple for dinner on a Saturday night. We made reservations so we had no wait. The drinks and beer selection were great. The staff was all very friendly and polite! The food was really good the steak was perfect and the Mac’n’cheese was also excellent! We will be going back!
First time to Jake's for me, my husband had only been there once before for a businesses dinner. He chose Jake's for his birthday dinner. Service was fantastic, food was delicious and servings of sides were generous. I haven't been much into steak lately but I had the 6 oz filet and it was mouth watering delicious. I cannot wait to go back there.
Found Jakes on OpenTable and the reviews were decent so I thought we would give it a try.
Upon our arrival we decided to have a cocktail at the bar as both the bartenders were spot on and entertaining (to go with my NY humor).
Our server was excellent and gave us an excellent wine choice.
We were seated and enjoy our appetizers and main coarse.
No room for dessert but we were tempted.
Definitely a go back to place.
Went for the $14.95 Monday seak special and upgraded to oscar style. It was wonderful. We also had the east west oysters which were tasty but the oysters were very small so I wouldn't recommend that. Overall I love going to Jake's because of consistently good food and the rustic ambiance.
Food was VERY delicious. All our steaks were cooked perfectly!! The New Fashioned and the Perfect Manhattan were excellent drinks. Our server was attentive, informative and smiling. Overall a wonderful evening!!
Excellent meal and dessert! We will be back.
We eat a Jake's with some regularity because of great food and very attentive waitstaff. On our last visit I can recommend the 6 oz. filet which seems closer to 8 oz in size, the rack of lamb, the pork chop, and the short ribs. All four were winners, but possibly the pork chop was the overall champ this time.
As always food was well prepared and tasted great. Service was very good
Jake’s as usual is a great place to dine! Service is outstanding!!
Food has always been delicious-steaks, onion rings, side dishes, and desserts.
Waitstaff is always very friendly, professional, and attentive.
Great as usual!
Great food and service
Great service. Food was excellent. Great place to go!
We have been going to Jake's for special occasions for 45 years (we started at the Jake's on North Ave.) It's always been a special place for us. My family loves the duck but I don't. It's too greasy for me as I have stomach problems. I had the scallops the last time we were there and they were good however I paid $39.00 for a salad and 5 scallops on a plate with a little sauce and thin apple slices on the plate. I thought they were REALLY overpriced. I had scallops at another restaurant and paid $32.00 for 6 to 7 scallops served with lobster risotto. It did not come with a salad to be fair but I could have ordered one since it was only $32.00. I would really like to see some other seafood options or some meatless options as they have none.
My wife and I had a rare moment to get out for the night. We don't usually go to this level of restaurant, but it was recommended by three people I talked to that day. Our table was ready for us at the time we asked. They were busy when we arrived, so service at the bar and at the host stand was a bit slow, but still very friendly. The entree sizes were less than we are used to, but the food was prepared excellently. We had two martinis, 4 glasses of wine and our meal for about $200. Again, much more than we normally spend for a dinner out but it was worth the price.
I had the scallops and they were made perfect tender and juicy. The sauce was delicious as well and the sweet potato with cinnamon butter. YUMMMMM Couldn't go without the Brussels sprouts also very well prepared firm but done. My husband had the redeye with the blue cheese sauce very good and prepared to perfection medium rare.
Jake's is in our regular rotation of restaurants and has been ever since it opened 25+ years ago. Great steaks, great cocktails, great service, and a great Friday fish fry. Never a stumble in food or service.
The Halibut was fantastic as well as the walleye! The brussel sprouts are the best I have ever had!! Great staff and food..
The best food in town and always great service! I don’t eat meat so I order fish here. I had the Panko and hazelnut walleye this visit which was amazing tasty in brown butter sauce. My husband had the steak of Wagyu beef that he said was one of the best he had ever had.
We grew up near Jake’s on North Avenue. It was the place we always went to for birthdays. Since that location is no longer a Jakes.i decided to start the family tradition again. The family always looks forward to it!
Service was superb ! Our filet and duck dinners were delicious -
Excellent service and experience
The whole experience was Great! Friendly people and GREAT food!
I love Jake’s. Every visit is perfect. Perfect atmosphere and phenomenal food.’
Date night with husband. Really nice evening. Fun server, food was delicious and prices were not outrageous. Definitely good value for the dining experience.
Excellent waitress - steak was a little too salty. We always like to go to Jake’s!
Our server was excellent. Very cramped seating. Went for our anniversary and was like we were sitting with the tables around us. Not very romantic.
Overall the food was good, however the service was beyond slow both at the bar and at the table.
Second visit to Jake’s, and it was a busy Friday night. Food quality was good and Kathleen’s service was attentive.
Jake's food is phenomenal. The waitstaff was very knowledgeable, friendly and professional. The atmosphere is wonderful. While Jake's is on the pricey side of restaurants, it's far more reasonable than other steak houses in the area. Our waitress could have visited us a couple more times than she did to refill drinks or see how we were doing.
The food was delicious but the portion sizes were way too small for the price.
This was my second time at Jake’s. We had Kim as our waitress again and she is wonderful. Perfectly present and definitely makes the experience. We were also seated by the fireplace which was nice too!
Great service and excellent meal.
We had a Filet and the Panko and Macadamia Nut Crusted Walleye. The food was very good and the service (Julia) was excellent. My only knock was that it was pricey. I frequent several upscale steak restaurants in the Milwaukee area. Jake's was toward the top in quality, but one of the most expensive - a little over $70 per person for a steak, glass of house wine, and an appetizer to share. I believe my 8 oz Filet was $48 including two sides.
Amazing!!! After almost 5 years living in Brookfield I found this Gem!!!! I really recommend!!!!
Tables way too tight, server was just okay.
We went to this restaurant for my husbands birthday and all ordered steaks. Approximately one hour after eating we all developed headaches and flushing which we have experienced previously with MSG exposure.
Great mushroom soup!! Our favorite restaurant in metro Milwaukee.
