Dry Aged "Cowboy Steak" Ribeye
Caper | Lemon | Egg | Crostini
Had the rib-eye which was good but a little tough. Cooked as requested. I was surprised that you had to pay extra for a sauce at these prices. Excellent side dish of brussel sprouts.
I had the 8 oz filet as I normally do. This time it was over-cooked a little bit. Seems like they may have a new cook in the kitchen. Overall, the experience at Jake's was not as good as it has always been. I will give them another chance to prove me wrong, but things need to change.
Never a disappointment. Our go to place when able to be in the area
It would have received 5 stars but the wait for simple things like water refills and clearing of plates and drink refills was a complaint by all in our group. Maybe just short staffed like everyone one else there days.
But the food and waitstaff were outstanding!
As always, great food and great service. A little noisy as we sat outside- vehicle and airport traffic- but a good meal on a comfortable evening.
Omg This was a great experience!! I speak for the entire party when I say we were surprised & delighted. The food was exactly right, the service was impeccable and the price was more than fair for the quality of our meal. Could not recommend this place highly enough and I’m already counting down til the next time we have an excuse to go out for a nice dinner! Sides and apps were appropriately sized and tasted amazing. The ribeye was a perfect cut.
Jakes is a great place for all types of scenarios: dates, meetings, or just plain dinner. Always quality and always perfection.
We love Jakes’s. We’ve always had good meals and excellent service.
Great food, ok service. Table not ready, had to wait, waited a long time for drink, and to put in food order. Food was really good.
From the moment we got, we enjoyed the whole experience. Our server was very friendly. When I asked if either of the Chardonnays were unoaked, she went to ask the bartender. She came back with a sample of both for me to try and mentioned that one was low oak. It was Delicious. Then when I asked what was on the salad, she told me and I decided to get the Long Grain Wild Rice. She then came back and told me about another ingredient for the salad and that changed my mind and there no problem switching my choice. I had The Wallleye- and it was so tasty. And my boyfriend had the Duck and he loved it. Jake's never disappoints. Have been a fan of theirs since the 70's when they were on North Avenue.
Nice steak house with some tasty surprises. Delicious walley, surprising Pork chop and great steaks.
Our server, Tina S. was the best waitress I have had anywhere, since the pandemic. She was efficient, at the top of her game with recomendations and seemed to have a photographic memory.
Real nice dining experience.
The only point of concern was the Bar service. Drinks were good, even if a bit expensive. However, the bartender seemed more concerned about who was paying and when we were paying, than our experience there. It was a strange downer to a nice evening.
Another great meal at Jake's. Both the fish and steak dishes were excellent!
This restaurant never fails to satisfy me. Always a great meal. High quality food, comfortable experience, excellent service, and great selection. I would definitely recommend the aged ribeye steak, and don't forget the mountain of breaded onion rings, and an old fashion to drink.
Jakes has always been our fav place in the western suburbs. I miss this wine list and specials written on chalkboard thou. Bar and restaurant service was great as usual and food beyond expectations
The duck and tenderloin filet were great. The meat was cooked to perfection.
Great service and food!
Cowboy ribeye for me and filet trio for my wife. Both were excellent and Maggie, our server was friendly and took care to make things great. Will be back!
Stopped in for my anniversary dinner during the week. Arrived around 6pm and the dining room was about half full, but quickly filled.
Each server had about 4 tables, but our server seemed a bit behind all night with our table and the others. There were a few times we just sat waiting. We ordered a dessert drink at the end and it took around 15min so they didn't charge us, which was nice.
I had the boneless ribeye and my wife had the filet. Both had a nice thick crust to them and were very tender and cooked exactly as ordered. The side of brussel sprouts were good, but not really worth the upcharge.
We mentioned in the OpenTable reservation we were there for our anniversary but the host and waitress didn't mention it, we did see other tables where they discussed birthdays and other events with the customers, so maybe it depends on who you talk to.
Overall it was a good meal, but for the price and more of a supper club feel venue I would say everything seemed about 10-20% higher than other similar places.
Steaks were so tasty and tender! Portions are not huge (except for the junbo crock of French onion soup-also delish and the mountain of onion strings). Enjoyed a wonderful and delicious night out. We'll be back!
My favorite steak in the Milwaukee area—filet, ribeye, strip…a special treat is the blackened ribeye. The vibrant flavors were an amazing surprise. Just had the hazelnut walleye, which is rich, flaky and savory. Sides of Mac n cheese, roasted broccoli, shrimp cocktail and Brussels sprouts are all winners. And I love a good, salt-rubbed baked potato. Add the perfect AFFORDABLE glass or bottle of wine for the perfect experience.
Staff is fantastic from your bartenders to servers to management (get to know Matt and Hannah!).
This was just our second time here and my husband and I enjoyed our experience once again. We were lucky enough to have Hannah for our server again, and she nailed it with a great attitude and personality - just like the first time. She remembered us too, which was surprising and notable.
Food was very good. Service, setting excellent! Very busy !
Pleasant dinner with family dealing with a loss in the family. Dinner was great service as well!
Food was mediocre, service was good. Price pint high
All good waitress was excellent
Excellent food! Great service. We were in a private area and had excellent food and service. They had cheese curds as a special which were amazing and their steak and spare ribs were mouth watering.
Food was great as usual. Was a little surprised when we saw menu prices. Most items were $10.00 higher than the Jakes website menu.
Great evening of fine dining and fellowship. Maggie was our server and she did a marvelous job. The steaks were cooked to perfection. The shrimp cocktails are the best in town. The fish dinners were wonderful. We are already planning our next trip to Jake’s.
The food was fantastic as always. Service was a little slow but not terrible by any means.
We were very disappointed with our dinner. The bartender was more interested in the ladies sitting at the bar than he was interested in making a drink for the 4th person after he made the first 3. Our server tried but seemed like she had too many tables for one person. We have not been at Jakes for a few years, and probably will never go back. Very disappointed
Great porterhouse for two. $50 less expensive than downtown and the steak was prepared perfectly with outstanding flavor. I’d just like more color or ambience in the dining room.
The fillet was superb. Medium rare, tender and flavorful. Twice baked potato was also outstanding. Fantastic meal. Will definitely return
Excellent server and very good food. NY strip was 9 put of 10 and the pork chop was a 10 out of 10. It’s a little odd that meals come with salad OR two sides. It should be salad and one side or two sides.
Our entire experience was excellent . I've been dining with Jake's since the early 60's when they were on 61st and North ave in Tosa.
Was a regular customer in the 70’s. Moved back to the area now and have been there twice. Service was still excellent as it was decades ago. Food is still very good. Good beer and wine selections. Prices are a little high but in line with new COVID-era prices.
The restaurant dinner was absolutely terrible the 2 rib eyes we paper thin and about 1/2 as big as should be ….the filets we’re good and walleye was also good not great the short rib had about 3oz of meat on it and was all bones it cold and swimming in au jus it was old and tasted like it came out the refrigerator and dumped into the au jus. The sides were ok. We will not be back and we paid way to much for substandard food. The server was good but when I didn’t eat more than one bite of the short rib she should have asked if there was something wrong with it. We didn’t want to complain because we know how hard the pandemic has been on everyone and we have all been in that business but the food was inexcusable
Jake's was fantastic! We had a business meal for 10 and were given the private room which was just amazing! Food was great, our server was great. Couldn't have asked for a better meal.
We enjoyed the Monday steak special recently, delicious, and a great value. Consistently good food and service!
Day in and day out you get friendly and great service
We had the boneless ribeye and the salmon
With the mandatory onion basket, double baked and two Cesar’s
This was a special meal between friends and we like most other patrons were a table of four.
However, unfortunately we arrived and one entire wall of the dining room was fitted with two large tables and a group of approximately 25 patrons that are part of a Milwaukee eating/dining club. The noise in the room was so energetic that the waitresses were having to shout just to take the orders.
I completely understand the financial incentive for a restaurant to entertain a large group such as this Milwaukee dining club; however, when it comes at the expense of disturbing the other patrons and impacting their dining experience, then it reflects poorly on Jakes management team.
Honestly, I felt so sorry for the waitresses as they were frustrated and were apologizing for the circumstance that was beyond their control. Kudos to them !!
