Jake's Famous Crawfish Ratings and Reviews
Second time at Jake’s. Love the clubby atmosphere of old Portland and the murals on the wall of Oregon scenes. Service staff attentive and prompt without making one feel rushed. Menu selections are comprehensive and offer a wide range of seafood. They do a wonderful job on a wide range of offerings. Étouffée to sautéed Petrale Sole to a tastee crab salad. The small deserts provide a great option after such generous portions! From a good night out to special occasions I highly recommend!
Jake's Famous Crawfish was the 1st restaurant I ate at in Portland. I've been coming back ever since. I love everything about it! Love their food and a fun place to go. This last dinner was a very special occasion. I called and spoke to them beforehand. They handled it all well and treated us great!
Jakes's was recommended to us and the staff did not disappoint. The reservation process was easy, the greeting and table service was friendly and knowledgable, and the food...so tasty! From appy (shrimp and crab cakes) through dessert (the infamous chocolate bag!) it was a culinary treat for us. We would recommend it (and have since) to our friends in town and out-of-town, especially the seafood lovers.
This was our second visit to Jake’s Crawfish during our weekend stay at the Crystal Hotel across the street. We loved the Happy Hour in the bar, we had such a great time and had already planned to have New Year’s Day dinner in the restaurant. The Chef’s Recommendation of the stuffed salmon was so good and the bacon wrapped prawns was very very good. Topped off with a shared chocolate bag dessert. We highly recommend this restaurant!!!
I've been patronizing Jake's for 20 years. It is a "go-to" for an outstanding dining experience. Food preparation has slipped. While entrees were still great, they weren't outstanding. It seems in the name of speed, dishes are being assembled in advance, then heated and served. Disappointing!
Overall good experience, but I think I there is a problem with their lobster tail sizing. I ordered a 20 ounce lobster tail and received one with less than 8 ounces of meat after the shell was removed. I'm almost positive that they gave me the wrong size. Maybe they don't have the right size in for the 20 ounce. It was disappointing since it was a special occasion and we really splurged $69.99 for a 20 ounce lobster tail. To only receive 8 ounces of meat was very disappointing. I feel misled and like it was a poor value.
Made a reservation and were seated quickly. Very good service. Waiter was very friendly and helped us make some food choices. Waiter also came to check on us several times. The Christmas decorations were lovely. Over all we had a wonderful dining experience.
This was my third trip to Jakes and so far it has been consistently good in every category. This time around I had a lovely stuffed salmon and my wife enjoyed good Ol' fish and chips. Both were perfectly prepared. The service was excellent ... wish I could remember the young woman's name so I could ask for her station again.
Really a lovely experience that can be a bit pricey if you like to drink a lot or a wonderful value if you don't.
Always delicious! Victoria looked out for us, we were on a schedule to get to the theater on time.
I had the pan fried oysters, they were sweet, moist and crunchy at the same time! The bar of course, is lively and authentic. The staff goes over the top, to make your dining experience a perfect dinner!
Wonderful experience, always love to be seated in a small booth , I started with their house Scotch and soda ,twist of lemon .We had the Crab and Artichoke dip ,which never fails , for my Dinner I enjoyed their Lobster ,my waiter went all out ,and switched my vegetables to be thin ribbons of Zucchini ,A nice glass of Champagne rounded out my meal .Always ! Especially enjoy dinning during the Holidays.
Been here 5 - 6 times and come away with a different experience each time. Having the right table I think is important but it's a crap shoot even if you ask for what you want. Food is what I expect when wanting fish, generally excellent. I come when people from our of town are here. On balance its just ok.
We had a reservation for 4:30 pm on Christmas Day. We arrived on time and were promptly seated. The wait staff were very accommodating to our 3 year old grandson and his gluten-free needs. They were efficient but never rushed us. Amazing crab appetizer. Creative cocktails. The salmon was cooked perfectly. I will choose Jake’s Famous Crawfish again the next time I want a special occasion dinner.
