Jake's Famous Crawfish Ratings and Reviews
So fresh they have to update the menu twice daily. Varied and exceptional menu of seafood. Try the pisco sour (cocktail). Excellent, authentic, and not overly sweet. Mini desserts are a fun way to finish a meal. Perfect size since the dinner portions are generous.
I always enjoy Jake’s Crawfish. At my age, simply providing wonderful food isn’t enough. There are lots of restaurants that do that but they serve it in noisy concrete boxes with loud music. I hate that! Jake’s gives you a first rate meal in civilized surroundings. That’s why I keep coming back.
Great historic spot. Maintains it's charm. Extensive menu. My wife and I shared a calamari appy plentiful portion easily good for two. They were crispy outside and tender inside. Main course she had halibut and I had steelhead baked with a horseradish and Parmesan crust both were cooked perfectly and delicious.
Flawless. The food and service were perfect. My husband is hearing impaired and background noise makes almost any restaurant experience an unhappy event for us. As it happens, our dining room was respectfully quiet. I cannot overemphasize how very pleasant this evening was for us. A truly enjoyable evening!
Friendly and attentive staff, even with a full restaurant. We were seated 15 minutes before our reservation, which was great. The fish selections were excellent, and we could easily find dishes on the menu that used local ingredients. Extensive drinks menu, including some nice non-alcoholic "mocktails." I'd definitely dine here again, but probably save it for a special occasion, since it's on the more expensive side.
This was for a business dinner with a client who likes seafood. Food is always wonderful, service was very good. Used the valet parking ($10). I had requested a quiet table, and we sat in a room I hadn't been in before - where the noise level was much lower than in the main section.
As a Portlander, it seems presumptuous of me to review Jake’s. It would be like criticizing a much beloved, consistently generous grandfather. And that is what Jake’s is ... consistent, in the freshness of the fish, the care in the preparation, and the attention of the waitstaff. You go to Jake’s not to surprise your palate nor to delve into different cultures, but for what can be best close to home with local ingredients.
