Jake's Famous Crawfish
We visited Portland for just a couple of hours and we spent it eating at Jake’s! It was amazing!
I knew this place would be pricey but still felt fleeced at the end. Wait staff was overwhelmed and were constantly rushing about with very little attention paid to our table. Green beans were way underdone. I splurged for wild caught king salmon ($50) but was underwhelmed by sauce, preparation and portion size.
I was very disappointed with the beet salad (bland) and the crab cakes were terrible and looked like they came out of a frozen dinner package. Jake's charges premium prices but it was not worth that kind of money.
The vibe and overall atmosphere of Jakes was pretty great. However, when it came to the food, not so great. I took my wife and children out for a Sunday meal at about 3:00pm and to spend over $200.00, one would believe the food was fantastic. I’m being completely honest, the food was downright bland. The lobster we ordered was the only dish that was actually pretty descent. I can wholeheartedly and confidently say that we will never eat there again. I wouldn’t encourage/recommend dining there unless you like poorly seasoned food.
The food was excellent. The service was impeccable. The ambiance was delightful. We asked for a suggestion from our waiter. He did not immediately know the answer, so he asked other waiters for their input.
Fun place to go in Portland. Always go to Jakes when we visit. Good seafood, great service and fun.
Very good all in all. Would definitely return, just the right place for good food and conversation, I like places that aren’t too loud and this was perfect. Excellent service, slightly disappointed in my choice, not enough sauce and too oily, my husband and his friend seemed very happy though!
Excellent food and PLENTY of it! Service was outstanding!
Had not been there in years, the food was good but not great although the desserts are very tasty.
We had a fabulous waitress who advised is among the many choices The fish is excellent in taste and sufficient in amount. Thank you
Food was okay, but overpriced. Attempt to upsell a "Rewards Card" when our bill was presented felt like "vacation club" pressure sales pitch. Ruined the dining experience for us.
We both had blackened swordfish. Better than expected! Hadn't been there in years; still the same 👍😊.
Salty’s has far better food. Jakes was over promoted & have never seen any place destroy halibut cheeks like that. Salty’s oysters were fresher & bigger.
Very good seafood and excellent service.
The venue is appealing, but has a touristy feel. They food was well prepared and fresh. The service adequate.
Great food and wonderful service.
While a more fine dining experience, the ambience lends itself well to a relaxed and pleasing environment. The staff are supremely knowledgable, friendly, and professional, and the food is always a delight. One cannot overstate what a pleasure it is to return to this restaurant, as we have for nearly a decade.
Great food. Best etouffe I have had outside of Louisiana. Service was also 5 star.
Great food!! The crab cakes are incredible
The brie with garlic and stone ground mustard fantastic. The shrimp stuffed with crab and wrapped in bacon a delight. We went two nights in a row.
Solid preparation of fresh ingredients, but not particularly special and did not live up to the pricing. But, excellent service and a very nice old time environment.
One of the iconic restaurants in Portland, yet the food was basic. The shrimp & dungeness crab louie has very borning canned olives, hard tomatoes, average dressing. Razor clams were over breaded. For the restaurant that set the bar for seafood quality, they now miss the mark.
Went to Jakes Crawfish to celebrate a birthday and to enjoy the chocolate box full of fresh whipped cream and berries galore. My go to place for birthday happiness
The Dungeness crab tortellini was the best meal I have ever had at a M&S
We had a great experience: food and service were exceptional.
We have always loved Jake's but this time we were disappointed. The salmon was overcooked and quite dry.
Great ambiance. Wonderful food and very friendly, attentive service. Can't wait to go back.
Jake's really knows how to prepare fish. Our dishes were absolutely delicious, the fish tender and perfectly cooked. We had the Steelhead and Halibut cheeks. Our waiter was friendly and had the right amount of attentiveness. The menu had multitudes of appealing choices.
Every time we eat here it’s amazing! Everything is cooked perfectly and delicious!!! The server talked me into trying the halibut cheeks! I was so happy she did. Melted in my mouth! Can’t wsit to go back again!!!
Excellent as always. A Portland classic that must be in everyone’s rotation.
I always recommend this place. It truly outstanding; with a unique ambience.
It was just ok. Nothing memorable at all.
Excellent!! Took my sons 29 and 26 for the first time ~ and everything was spectacular from the fresh bar drinks (so classic) to the dining room service. Thank you Julie!!! Great memories from an Orange County family....we’ll be back.
It was our 49th wedding anniversary.
We had an amazing meal. Our waitress recommended some things that were outstanding. We even enjoyed some dessert. Everything was delicious and our server was the best.
Always amazing! Fish was fresh and prepared to order. Service was excellent. Jakes never disappoints!
My wife and I celebrated our anniversary her on Wednesday 8/7. We arrived a little early and found the most courteous and welcoming staff. Karen guided us through the menu selections and we ended up having a very pleasant evening. The food was excellent and so was our evening. Thank you, we will come back.
Enjoyed Jake’s as we always have...great fish dinner! Very nice wait person.
Lovely restaurant. Great menu. Service good - if a little too directive.
Wine recommendation good.
Well worth the 15 minute trip to get there.
