Jake's Famous Crawfish
Such a beautiful, old world feel, with flavorful creative dishes. Cannot say enough about the charm, the food, and exemplary service.
Classic seafood restaurant
Absolutely a must when visiting Portland
Always an outstanding experience.
A friend told us we had to Jake’s Famous Crawfish restaurant - not Jake’s Grill. So we made our reservation before we even left home. We looked at pictures of the food, read reviews and skipped lunch so we would be ready! We loved it! The ambiance is fabulous. We got there early and it was very quiet. As more people arrived, there was more chatter but nothing annoying. Everyone seemed to be having a good time and many were repeat customers and were enthusiastically greeted by employees. The servers were so nice and ours, Keith, was excellent - cheerful and very efficient. The food did not disappoint. We had crawfish and crab bisque for appetizers and stuffed salmon for the entree. Amazing! We splurged and shared the triple dessert plate. My goodness. It was like three full desserts! Creme Brûlée, mixed berry cobbler with ice cream, and chocolate truffle cake with whipped cream and raspberry coulee. (See pic) I am so glad we parked half a mile away. We were so full!!
Absolutely my Favorite Restaurant in Portland. Great Selection of Seafood, along with Steaks which easily meet the mark!!
Great food & ambience! Never disappointed at Jake’s!
For the price of the food it was just okay. The potato’s were Luke warm. The fish was good but a little cool and the asparagus was a little tough. I was expecting a superb meal and it just wasn’t. Just okay.
Jake's is our "go-to" seafood restaurant in Portland. The fish and seafood is always fresh and delicious. Love the mini desserts as well.
Weekend trip to Portland great food !
We really liked our waiter and the food was very good too. Excellent as always
Thank you for making our dining experience very personal!!
The place was so busy that our water glasses were only filled after they had been empty for several minutes. The fried calamari we ordered for an appetizer had zero seasoning, very bland making it necessary to use a lot of the sauce provided. I ordered the blackened swordfish (a chef's special for the evening) and it was way over-seasoned. Sent it back and ordered a different dish. The stuffed halibut was quite good though.
Always a good choice
This was an excellent dining experience. Service was excellent and the food was top shelf. I would recommend this place to anyone. Definitely a Portland experience.
Decided to give this a try as we were just visiting Portland for a week. It was really great! We had the steamed clams in a garlic butter, clam chowder and shared the Octopus. Definitely satisfied our seafood craving!
This is an old school restaurant. Reminds me of go
Back to the 50's. Very greasy crabcakes and stuffed shrimp. The banana cream pie was lackluster. The crust was stale. Sourdough bread straight from the fridge to the table started our meal off on the wrong foot. The waiter was nice when we saw him.
Good quality seafood and service. Ambience was nice.
We hadn't been to Jake's Famous Crawfish for a few years but remembered it as a good standard for eating good food. I was a bit disappointed in my shrimp and scallops with rice and sauce. The shrimp were just okay and the scallops tasted a bit old, slight ammonia coming through the sauce. The rice was pasty which is sometimes seen in Louisiana but I felt it detracted just a bit more to the dish. The appetizer calamari was perfect and the green salad couldn't be better.
My sever was excellent
The food was good however pricey for portion sizes.
Usually love this place but salmon was overcooked for me... but I also didn’t request it too be a little pink inside.
I have never had less than a very good meal in 40 years, many meals were the best I have had.
Great crab/shrimp cakes!
Always a favorite. Service was wonderful. Food was simply fantastic.
Service could and should have been better. They were not overly busy yet we had a long wait for attention from our server for all requests across the board.
Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here. I had the Dungeness crab bisque, which was rich, creamy and delicious. My husband loved his order of escargot. When shared a fresh salad and a crab cake dinner. Service and ambiance was top notch. A little noisy but you know it's all good when that many people are there. We would go back again for sure.
Very enjoyable evening. The food and service were excellent.
This experience was a big part of making our weekend so magical! Thank you.
Nice food, service and atmosphere, but overpriced in my opinion.
Rob was a fantastic waiter. Very attentive, patient, and friendly.
Ordered the grill salmon and it was cooked perfectly. Also had the mussels for an appetizer. They were excellent. Cool old restaurant. Especially if.you love fresh fish
Having been visiting Portland since 1994 and passing the signs for Jake's, we finally went in on a recent visit to the city. And we weren't disappointed. The waitstaff were helpful and the food was delicious.
On the waiter's recommendation I had the Horseradish Crusted Steelhead, which was moist and tasty. My other half had the Cedar Plank Salmon, and also enjoyed it a lot. The only downside was that the noise levels were rather high
My main regret is that having enjoyed the popcorn crayfish as a starter, I didn't have room for dessert.
Not sure how to respond to your noise level review question. I thought the noise level was perfect.
ALL ROUND...A WONDERFUL EVENING...ALL TOP NOTCH...FOOD...SERVICE...AMBIENCE!!!
I really liked the ambiance, they also have a bar section but it was nice to be seated in the dining area, very classy and fancy. Our waitress was amazing and over the top wonderful! I was not a fan of the Étouffée, I wish I wouldn't went with my original choice the Dungeoness crab tortellini so if I come back, I will be trying that dish! Great wine list!
This place is one of my favorites in Portland for atmosphere and service, and has the best seafood I've had here yet!
Excellent service and wonderful food
Great as usual! Celebrated hubby’s 65th birthday and everything was perfect!
Food and service were excellent.
Oyster was not good quality at all. Dip sauses were not fresh.
Wonderful taste of Old Portland. Dependable quality.
