Jake's Famous Crawfish -- A tradition for generations.
Fantastic visit again. Bret our server was attentive and always seemed to be checking in on us whenever we needed him. Food was fantastic!
Jake's remains the best local choice for seafood, service and the casual not stuffy Portland vibe. Our fresh seafood dinners were cooked to perfection; the desserts were absolutely amazing. Our server was top-notch - observant and attentive but she never made us feel rushed. It was a most enjoyable evening.
Wonderful food and friendly service and great atmosphere. Already made another reservation.
Bring your wallet... however, the food is second to none and the bartenders are true professionals
Been coming here for years - very consistent and they know how to cook fish.
We went to Jake’s for a late lunch. Calamari was delicious. My wife had the cod ,and I had the salmon. Both were excellent. Service was excellent. Would highly recommend. This was the best seafood we had in Portland .
Loved it! Our waitress was wonderful, food delicious, and great vibe!
Enjoyed the food and service, however the level of noise made it hard to have a conversation and enjoy my dinner. I'm not sure that I would come back after spending $250 to that kind of noise.
Best food around. This time service wasn’t as good as last but this dinner was fabulous!
Great service. Dungeness Crabs to travel for
The food was great and our server was even better!
The stuffed halibut I had was tough; I could tell that it had been sitting out a while. The shrimp and crab filling was mostly cream cheese, and also not very good. I typically don't write reviews, but this restaurant just wasn't worth the value.
This place does seafood best! Every meal was beautifully presented and deliciously prepared
I work in the neighborhood near Jakes, it's surprising how we can forget what a gem it is as we visit the many 'hot spots' that seem to always get trendy reviews. It's been a number of months since my last visit, I won't wait as long for the next.
The team at Jakes offers a perfect match of service, ambiance and amazing food and drink. I love suggesting that my guests start with the chilled crawfish (by the pound), follow it up with any of the daily fresh fish and you will love your meal. If you are visiting, the local Dungeness Crab is a perfect treat ... you will find it topping the cod, with some fresh Oregon bay shrimp and of course in the crab cakes. My favorite (yes I've had it a few times) is the Steelhead with Horseradish Crust (very mild, with a nice crunch). Steelhead is a true Pacific Northwest delicacy, it's a trout that starts it's life in our rivers and migrates to the ocean.
The food and our server were outstanding. The recommendation of the steel-head for our Cesar salad instead of the farmed salmon was great.
Perfect food and athmosfere. Great service. The white chocolate dessert is insane!
The quality and variety of the seafood is unmatched.
The waitress was very good. However the building is quite old ( charming) but needs a deep cleaning And an updated AC! It was so hot we were sweating and in turn couldn’t really eat much of the 46.50 entree! Food was delicious but pricey. So if it’s hot outside beware. This was at 8 pm and still to hot. They had seating outside but not eating outside during windy weather! I’d go again but mindful of the weather ....
The quality of the food is equivalent to a moderately priced diner. Not worth the money.
Great old historic restaurant that I haven't been to in years... Service was very friendly and good. Tons of great fresh seafood options...my halibut was soft, moist, flaky, and fresh. However, it, nor my sides had much flavor, overall kinda bland. The desserts were killer however, notably the warm apple crunch...
Think they had a off day, food was not inspiring. Fish and chips taste similar to Burgerville.

Jake's was excellent as always. The food, service and atmosphere cannot be beat. The only complaint I have has to do with the VALET. When we got our car back it had a scratch down the entire passenger side. This is very unacceptable, we have have used the valet many times without issue, but when you get your $75,000 BMW returned to you with damage it leaves a bad taste in your mouth. We are are hoping the Valet company will do there due diligence and take care of the damage.
Early Mother’s Day dinner
The appetizers are good, the salad, chowder and entrees were bland, and not really worth the price. I will go back but will sit at the bar and have apps, not dinner.
Always a great dinner experience. The crab louis was great.
Jake’s missed the boat this time around. Salad and onion soup were good, signature parmesan encrusted sole was greasy and inedible, scallop sauté was dry, rice was over cooked. Waiter didn’t come back in time to reorder the sole, just took it off the bill. Not a good Mother’s Day meal!
Great service. Very professional staff. Always a great place to dine.
Jakes remains one of the best spots in Portland for a business lunch.
Dinner with friends. Our waiter wasn’t very personable.
No energy in the restaurant.
Food was ok, service was ok. We thought food and drinks were overpriced. Certainly not the best place to go in Portland
This place is the best. If you are in Portland and you don't stop here you're making a huge mistake.
1st time visiting from New York had a great time and Meal was fantastic!!!!
Food was very tasty, did not take a long time to arrive, and the service was excellent.
Excellent seafood preparations and knowledgeable server. It was not too crowded that night so we were not rushed to leave. Enjoyed being able to stay and talk a short while after the meal. So glad to be able to show visitors a historic part of my town.
Jake’s was amazing. Food and service was impeccable. We has the cedar planked salmon, crab sauté and stuffed halibut. All was amazing. I will be back.
Started the night in the bar with Jared as our bartender, then moved to our table in the dining room.
Jared was the perfect host to greet us and was perfectly knowledgeable about where to go and what to see in the city.
Our waitress (sorry, do not recall her name) was extremely well educated on the menu and gave excellent suggestions.
The restaurant did get a bit louder as the later reservations filled the open tables.
I will be returning when I visit Portland in the future.
Waited over an hour for our main course. Fish did not taste fresh.
We were given a semi private table with a window for my party of five (2 children, 3 adults.) Service and food was outstanding!
