The food is consistently delicious!
Lively, fun restaurant with delicious seafood! The server was engaging, friendly and helpful with menu selections.
It was St. Patrick's Day and we all had a blast. Food is always excellent. Thanks
Service was less than stellar, but the food is always good. Server did not acknowledge my guests birthday until I mentioned it when the check was paid, had to remind server 3 times for my glass of wine, then he brought out a Pinot Gris instead of Pinot Noir. I expected better based on past experiences at this location.
Steve our server is the best in the business. Thanks
One of the best deals of this PDX Dining!! Thanks!
Worth a try, definitely great value for Portland Dining Month. Service was very friendly and attentive. Ambiance was very nice. Steelhead was great, crab cakes were ok. Dessert was delicious.
Excellent table service and our waiter was entertaining. Food was exceptionally tasty. We loved the atmosphere of this long established Portland restaurant.
Honestly, we were pretty let down. The service was fine (a little on the slow side for sure.) But our server was at least pleasant. One of our dishes was very unimpressive. Considering how expensive the entrees are I expected a lot more. Also everything is ala carte so it was way overpriced. Plus the website is misleading. We wanted to do the date night menu that is on the website, and the restaurant wouldn't honor it. You should specify on the website dates, or specific times when that menu is available.
Food and table great, waiter Keith, couldn’t have been more helpful
Good service shouldn’t require a customer always asking for service
Great as usual
Just the type of atmosphere I love. Old time New York/San Francisco decor. The food was superb. I had the Horseradish coated Steel-head. Wonderful flavoring. My husband had the Petrale Sole which is hard to find. Also, done to perfection. Would definitely go again and recommend to others.
Food is good. Fish was great. Nice vintage stayle. Staffs wear labcoats. Super busy super crowded. super loud. Kinda $$. I like a small venue and not into being stressed out.
Lovely place to get fresh seafood daily. The box of chocolate dessert waa very good, if a bit decadent.
Chowder, crab cakes, steelhead, and dessert...ALL "just let me have one more bite" delicious! And our server was friendly, efficient, and always around when we needed something. We'll be back!
Wonderful. We are from the south and we love seafood so we had to try this restaurant. It was clean and our server was superb. We will be returning!
Good service and good food. We felt the fish was fresh
We had reservations at 7:30pm. The restaurant gave our table away so we had to wait for an open table. The place was packed with so many people the temperature inside was unbearable! We politely asked the manager to throw something away, not only did she roll her eyes she mouthed ‘this is not my job’. When we finally got seated we wanted to order all of our food at once because we were starving... the waiter told us no, we should take our time. My fiancé ordered a featured martini on the menu, not only did the wait laugh at him he told him to hold his pinky out(?) on top of ALL this, we asked if they made any homemade sauces for steaks, once again, we get laughed at and the waiter slams down A1 sauce on the table. I’m sorry for a dinner that’s over $200 what horrible environment and service!
Had a great time. Our server Langdon was knowledgeable and friendly. Our meal was excellent. It's worth the drive from east vancouver.
Excellent evening for the family, thank you. Highly recommend
Would recommend several other options for lunch instead. Inconsistent food & service. I'm guessing better experiences with dinner crew as lunch was marginal. Other places with similar food options that taste better and offer better service as this trip was a disappointment.
Haven’t been here in a while - Delicious stuffed Salmon and dessert trio as well. Service was wonderful.
Fantastic experience. Classic Portland. Delicious food. Outstanding service.
Great food and great time
Made a reservation for my wife and I to celebrate our anniversary. Unfortunately, the place was completely packed. However I understand that it’s a popular place and some overcrowding can be expected. Well it went beyond overcrowded. After waiting for our table we were stuffed into the corner in a tiny booth with a tiny table that was too small to even fit the menu and wine menu let alone wine glasses and plates. On top of it all we were smushed behind a large group table that was basically sitting at our table with all of their chairs hanging right on us. Nothing worse than the smell of an old jacket. Horrible experience. we left after ordering our appetizer we couldn’t take anymore.
We will not be back and will make sure everyone we know is aware of our experience.
Always a wonderful meal and top notch service. This is our favorite Portland, OR restaurant!
This was my 1st time here, For Portland dining month & I was amazed! the service impeccable. The food fabulous. All in all I will be returning.
March Dine Around. Been to Jake's many times, food is very good bet service has dropped off over the last few yeas.
We took advantage of Portland Dining Month for this visit. As always our food was excellent and the service was exemplary. Jake's is always such a great experience.
The birthday celebrant thought it was the best fish they had ever tasted.
Never have had a bad meal at Jakes! Consistancy to perfection...
Good food but nothing special. Over priced appetizers and drinks. Its the kind of place that you go to one time and then move on to the much better options around Portland.
Our waiter was wonderful but our food arrived lukewarm and he was so busy it was hard to track him down.
Outstanding service and food. Was seated in a timely manner.
Despite being quite busy, we were seated immediately, and our service was efficient. The food was tasty and attractively presented.
If you like seafood this place is a must! The food is amazing! The clam chowder was so filling, every bite was full of clams. The bread was warm and fresh. I got the stuffed salmon and OMG! Words can't even describe how good it was.
My husband's steak was cooked perfectly. Which was a pleasant surprise because most steakhouses can't cook fish and fish I was just can't cook steak.
The setting is both intimate and romantic but also works well for just hanging out with friends. They don't have it I'll dark to where you can see what you're eating. It's very beautifully decorated with art and soft lights illuminating the art which give it that romantic and peaceful glow.
The service was the best service I've ever had. And if you look at my other reviews you will see that I am not a generous reviewer when it comes to service. It has to be pretty much close to perfect for me to even say anything about it. Our way to Rob I knew exactly what I wanted before I even knew I wanted it. He listened to what I was looking for and his recommendations were spot-on to my needs.
We never felt unattended but we never felt overcrowded either. The dessert was also delicious I love how they have a small version of a desert and the regular desserts are huge.
In all this is the perfect place to visit as a tourist or showing off to a loved one or just for a night out with friends. The seating is a bit crowded, and dark for picture taking would be my only negative thing to say. Which is not a big deal at all. We can't wait to come back and celebrate our special days with the friendly staff and delicious food of Jake's famous crawfish.
Definitely over rated. The food was average and the server made the experience awkward.
Always a great experience. Do go, just remember that is can get expensive.
